2:00 its a Helmholtz resonator, designed so that exhaust sound waves at a certain frequency go into the pipe and destructfully combine eliminating each other. the length of the pipe is in relation to the frequency that you want to eliminate, usually a drone point.
@@AMMO-NYCit functionally makes the pipe longer and thus moves the drone center further aft outside the cockpit in the car. Neat trick and why many aftermarket s2000 exhausts create a lot of drone.
23:49 The A pillar is actually black tape, hence the cracking. Underneath the tape usually has the body color paint under it but it’s been sort of a crapshoot because while most of the time it’s a finished pillar, there have been instances where the clear coat isn’t even applied. Worse yet, there’s been cases where it wasn’t painted at all, but that’s hearsay - I’ve never seen it unpainted in person. Great video!
I had the absolute honor to detail a 2002 S2000 earlier in the year. It was unfortunately after it was repaired after hitting a deer, but that car is definitely at the top of my list of most fun and satisfying cars to work on. I can't tell you how excited I was when this video popped up lol!
At 13:10, I can't shake the feeling that Larry was telling us the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything (or at least telling us the secret to squeeky-clean dash pads).
AP2 V2 wheels on an AP1 really triggers my OCD. But for real, nice to see an original, unmolested S2K. When I got mine a few years back, took me months to return it to stock / OEM plus. Hope the owner does the AP2 valve spring retainer upgrade...
a buddy of mine has an S2000 track edition, it has a hard top convert blue, factory rear spoiler and racing slicks and I think they stiffened the suspension. It is a little rocket and I love it when he takes me for a ride
The black trim around the soft top and below the side windows is originally matte, magic eraser works really well to restore it to the original finish. The cracked trim around the windshield is just vinyl from the factory, its a pain to remove but is fully painted underneath. Original vinyl is still available for about $50 as well.
I love the S2000, I remember seeing one in a Honda showroom in 2001 first year they came out, unfortunately I was buying a Civic with my dad. Through out the negotiations on the civic all I did was stare at the S2000. Few years later my brother bought one and I got to drive it often, best handling car I’ve ever driven. The only bad thing about the S2000 is that the people that don’t know think it’s a Miata.
so cool, it's honestly a fun car to drive. i love the red interior, they pop up so good with silver paint. i just love to see Larry being such a kid when he just take them out for a ride, regardless of what kind of car is lol.
I crashed my 06’ back in January and miss it very much. Very fun car to drive and after seeing 3 videos pop up on my feed in the past 2 days, I think it’s a sign that I should get another one soon🤞🏼
Spectacular work--as always! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Thanks for the Black Friday sale. I absolutely love Ammo produces. I love them even more when they are on sale! 😄
Always had a soft spot for the Honda S2000. Great having the old intro music back at the end as well as in last weeks Miura video- love it! Happy Thanksgiving from South Africa
Had one in pretty rough condition. we wet sanded it and got it all refinished pulled it outside to make room for another detail, pulled the car back in that evening … everything came back.
Six years sitting outside? No fading? No cracking? Even the seats in (relatively) great condition? Heck, not even much mold or much rodent droppings? I know Honda builds some great cars but this is on a whole different level. Great job detailing for sure. But six years outdoors? Sure.
The S2000 is such a gem. So it’s sad to see one in the shape that this example came to you in, but you certainly did right by it. QUESTION: With seats like those in Hondas and so many other cars that have a plastic(y) coating over the leather, how is the balm that you applied able to sink down into leather underneath? Again, great job! 👍
See his drop down above the comments. He uses an AR 630 TSS (or equivalent). They are not cheap! But, if you're detailing cars for a living, probably worth the investment. If you're just doing your own car(s) at home, you might look at less expensive options.

Thanks dude, I was wondering.
Nice Honda did that from factory.
Big Larry - that bizarre little 90 degree is Hemholtz pipe to decrease the exhaust drone
Thanks for the info!
“Helmholtz Pipe” is something you never want to experience in prison.
@@AMMO-NYCit functionally makes the pipe longer and thus moves the drone center further aft outside the cockpit in the car. Neat trick and why many aftermarket s2000 exhausts create a lot of drone.
The S2000 is a beautiful machine, glad to see it back on the streets, where it belongs!
A mid week video from the detailers detailer.........who could ask for more? HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Now I get way more excited for a S2000 than I do for the Lamborghinis.

The Apillar is not expensive to replace. Its a black vinyl sticker from Honda. It can be removed, but most drivers keep it.
Best detailler in the world

"It's alright. I ain't losin'. This fools running a Honda 2000. I'll win." - Jesse, The Fast and the Furious
Bet he's got a 100k under the hood of that car!!!
"He's got 10 thousand dollars under that hood."
13:18 I was hoping you were going to talk about and it sounds like something important as you’re scrubbing the dash Larry…🤔
Finally a real car!!! Honda> DONT MATTER
Love the S2000! An AP1 needs AP1 wheels to be totally correct. The current wheels are AP2v2 wheels.
They are AP1 facelift wheels in the UK. We get the best of both worlds here.
Agreed but some people put the AP2 wheels on the AP1 as its 17 inch v 16 inch and the car handles better
As a S2000 owner, I'm happy the car got in your hands to look alive again. Hope you enjoyed it when VTEC kicked in "yooo" 🤪🤣🍻
Great job again ❤
The gum you pulled out of the carpet still looked good. You didn’t just throw it away I hope.
Great job Larry on it brilliant stuff
Happy Thanksgiving buddy!! 💥👊🏻💥
Same to you!
Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for the discount‼️❤️

Your videos always stand out for their quality and originality. Thank you for your contribution!🦄😎🍐
You can almost hear that Honda exhaling, saying “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!” as you clean off the grime. Very cool car
You nailed it!
The little offshoot takes the exhaust pipe out of resonance. Doing away with the resonance allows better flow and adds power.
that is a gorgeous colour for an amazing car
loved this detail...totally not biased lol
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
2:00 Helmholtz Resonator! Cuts down exhaust drone.

My dream car since the Millennium after owning a '94 Civic hatchback ESi vtec 1.6 for years! Lovely project, I really enjoyed this one!
windshield a pillar is a vinyl sticker. if you remove it it's body color paint underneath
That was very satisfying to watch. Hondas seem to hold up well to any abuse. Thanks for the video.
The A pillar is just vinyl wrapped from the factory, but there is color matched paint underneath
Ap1 redlines at 9k
Ap2 redlines at 8k
I also think if Honda Brock the s2000 it would sell like crazy
Happy thanksgiving Larry!!🦃
Excellent cars, had one years ago.

Another great video! Thanks for helping keep these wonderful cars on the road.
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it.
Please do more JDM cars Larry!
Happy Thanksgiving 🙏🏾
It's like Pop Up Video for car nerds and lofi fans. Zen AF. Keep up the good work.
What an amazing job as always. I would've loved to see a dry ice cleaning on the underside. Thanks for all your great videos.
As a taller guy and former s2000 owner, how did you like that cold air hitting you right in the forehead as you drove?
Happy thanksgiving Larry!!
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

Always a great watch ,Happy thanksgiving from across the pond 🇬🇧
Thanks 👍
Larry, I had dreams in high school about driving this car. What a treat and absolutely gorgeous detail. Thanks for bringing us along !! 👍🏼
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Heimholtz resonator, they are used to tune certain frequencies or noise out of intake or exhaust systems.
Happy Thanksgiving to the Kossila family hope you all have a wonderful day!
Same to you!
Instead of polishing the black windshield tape, you should have just pulled it off. It's fresh factory paint under there.
Wasn’t aware that was the case but thanks for the info
Always more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow. You can rip it up in an S2000 and not worry about going to jail.
Always had a soft spot for the Honda S2000. Great having the old intro music back at the end as well as in last weeks Miura video- love it! Happy Thanksgiving from South Africa
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
First view! Greetings from Croatia ❤
They call OCD a disorder, meanwhile its one of the reasons why you're on of the best in the world at what you do and dude that's just awesome!
The black around the windshield is just 3m tape. You can remove it. Underneath is body color. Polish that up and it looks great.
Happy Thanksgiving
Had one in pretty rough condition. we wet sanded it and got it all refinished pulled it outside to make room for another detail, pulled the car back in that evening … everything came back.
Remember when Honda made interesting cars?
Satisfying to see cars like honda...
Let’s be Thankful for Larry.
Where the videos rule wisely.
Be kind to each other.
👍
The black on the a pillar is a sticker. It can be taken off and new put on or polish the silver paint underneath.
Its a resonator. It cancels out the high frequencies in the exhaust note
Not a super car but I guarantee u it will last longer and maintenance is alot cheaper. Always loved this car along with the NSX. Great job Larry.

Larry, it's really time to do something about those lights on the wall!
Agreed!
I should have had you done my 96 Lancer Evolution 4 that I imported from Japan that probably hadn't been detailed in 10+ years.
EPIC 💪💪💪💪
Who would abandon one of these things? 😭
Right?? I was thinking the same thing!
gobble gobble 🦃

Love your work Larry. Can I ask what Balm was used for the dry seats? I just bought an Audi with leather seats that are hard like that.

It was so worn from sitting outside that the coating had long since degraded
S2k lesgo
9000rpm and going nowhere? Those S2000s are actually pretty quick for the time.
The new owner must be Autocrossing the car or tracking the car with brand new RE-71rs tires. You aren’t doing regular driving with those tires.
Larry why show what the after results right in the beginning you have to keep the suspense right till the end my brother 😊
HEY L.... Why aren't you Upgrading to the WIDE MOUTH on the FOAM CANNON??? Nice HONDA!
@AMMO NYC can you please me what powerwasher including add-ons you use in your videos? Thank you in Advance

You seem like the type with composed energy that would have a F1X LS 454 C6 Z06.
I don't know why in the hell did Honda discontinue this model. I hope they're planning to bring it back like the rumors say it
Washing an attainable car!
That have you put on the e-brake so you don't open the top while driving, most convertibles are like that
21:10 Didn't end up talking about the problems though, wonder what was the problem with the paint up front?
Hey it actually turned into a much larger discussion and I’ll be posting a follow-up on the AMMO Studio Channel. Thanks for watching!
@@AMMO-NYC Well I'll have to watch that, got me curious about what the issue is. Thanks for the reply.
3:16 the text to tinny, i can see clearly 😢
❤
As a person that really only looks at Honda or Toyota when purchasing a car, do you notice the quality of them in a situation like this.

How much for that entire job?
Hours of powerwashing?
Ello
Why do you use a degreaser in areas like the fuel cap?
To remove the oil and grease buildup in the area.
god why did they think red was a great idea? many mustangs ive wanted to like, but the red was too much lol.
