Thanks for the video, I went ahead and made the jump for the SKY03O amber's. I was looking for an upgrade to my Dominator V3's with the no longer supported laforge V4. I've been eyeballing the HDO's for some time now but a lot of people are reallly liking the SKY03O's.

Love my HDOs screens. I agree you can see more in certain situations and that is helpful. Necessary - no, but very helpful. For $70 more you have a module that allows you to add Rapidfire which is a second and even bigger reason to upgrade. I am surprised by break up now whereas I used to be surprised when there wasn’t any. The lack of module bay is where these would lose out. But for someone whose budget won’t stretch, I get it. The red is cool!!

The main concern i think, is the goggles futureproof regarding HD groundstation transmission systems. Will the image crop to 16:9 and lose fov via hdmi, or will it display 4:3. How was the connex when connected to other goggles for example.
Did you need to use diopters to see the screen clearly when using these goggles?

Olaf Schermann I’m looking for a large fov to. Seems like the bigger the fov the bigger the problem. I have recon v2 and obviously since there box goggle style , everything is clear.

I have the HD3, HDO, and SKY02X. For some reason my favorite is the HD3 but also have the corner screen blur issue (I have a very narrow IPD). But, I love the buttons & OSD interface on the SKY02X. I also like it's screen (even though it is lower resolution). So I end up bouncing back and forth between the two.
I think the biggest difference for most between the HDO & SKY03O is going to be the facial fitment. I 'hear' (never tried the SKY03 series) there is a big difference.
The SKY03O fit the best of any goggle I've ever had. That alone might make me switch. It means a lot to not have any light leakage.

Great review. Just in time as I am finally making a goggle purchase next week to complete my FPV package. One reason I keep getting stuck on the Eachine EV-200D is the FOV and screen resolution. I'm also looking at the FS HDOs. I know it's apples to oranges, but I plan on getting a RapidFire module regardless of which one I buy. Now these are in the mix too. DAMMIT!!! LOL The downfall for me with the SkyZone 03O is not being able to swap out the module.
I'm not sure why everyone thinks the built-in receiver is bad, it's not bad. However, if you fly in a lot of sketchy places with a lot of RF noise and/or obstacles, you may want to spend the money for the Fatshark setup. It may not be the best, but at least you'll know you've spent the most money possible. That seems to give people assurance.

Whatabout the non Oled version?? What do u think the point is of those,, especially the price tag, ,, I mean why introduce basically the same 03 again, 1 with OlED , and the ones without yet they are both are still in presales, other than the OLED, and the stupid led on top ,and the camera, oh and the face is different than the original 03s.. the ones you just reviewed look and sound awesome, minus the deal breaker for me which is the damn 4:3 aspect ratio, wtf where they thinking , not having switchable??
Hey Albert, do you prefer the two Omnis on the skyzones or an Omni with a patch? I have the skyzone 02v+ goggles and was wondering if I should go for the two omnis instead. What do you recommend?
That totally depends on where you fly. I typically fly close to myself and in open areas so two omnis work well for me. If you fly in a different environment, you may need that patch antenna.

It's always a pleasure to watch your reviews, as usual Albert. 16:9 is a hot button for me as I use 16:9 cameras, DomV3's as my first and now my backup goggles. Currently rockin SKY02X's in 16:9. Albert, could you please update us if they confirm to offer a 16:9 solution either through firmware or news on another future model using OLED...please?

It will not, they already confirm that on the Skyzone FPV group on Facebook. If they compress the image from 4:3 to 16:9 it will not be centered. For me sadly this is a deal breaker as I use 16:9 cameras with my Sky02s

Hello there. I need help with my skyzone sky03o . I was flying yesterday and after only one warning beep by the goggles, two minutes later the goggles powered off because of low battery. I have correctly set the battery to 2s, as it is and calibrated the voltage. When i checked the battery it was 6.4 V. Wff??? The goggles don't have a proper low battery alarm? My old Skyzone sky02 used to beep all the time when battery started to have low voltage.
I believe the 3.2v per cell cutoff is set and can't be changed. However, if you're discharging to that low of a voltage, the batteries will get damaged if they aren't already.
@@AlbertKimTV Yes Albert, it shucks. i just tested it because i was very frustrated yesterday. I putted tha calibration very low so that the reading on the goggles was lower than real . I waited patiently and i got three beeps when goggles red 6.7 volts. After that i waited until 6.5 and no more beeps untill then. It can't be that. Three beeps and thats it. And 6.7 is too low for the battery. My old Skyzones didn't stop beeping when on low battery. But I don't remember at which voltage. I am very happy with these goggles and i didn't wait to be disappointed by such a thing. I also have made the firmware update :(
I was torn between waiting for these or getting the Sky02C.
I went with the 02C because I remember there were face fitting issues with the original Sky03. Seems they've addressed that.
I bet the blacks and darker colors just add so much to the image in the OLED screens, then again I'm pretty impressed with the image in the Sky02C.
Either way great quick cover Albert, I'd love to see some DVR comparison between the two if possible...

HDO2 is great if they work for your face and eyes. The Skyzones fit my face better so I don't use the HDO2's
It would be good if we could see some flight footage recorded on the new goggles. I feel there was a difference between the FS DVR and the SZ DVR. Just a thought:)

Am I doing something wrong?? Just received my sky03o last night but they won’t stay powered on unless I continue to press the power button???
We’ll shoot, ended up being defective and heading back to the manufacturer. But I will say the support Daniel gave over messenger was terrific! I am very impressed with their customer service!

The 03O is a lot better but the screens are 4:3 so you may not like that.

Do you use diopter lenses? I don't need glasses anymore as I had laser surgery but I added the - 2 ones into the hd0s and it's so much sharper in the corners now. Good content as always 👍
Yes. I use the -6 diopters... I don't think -8 diopters exist. May have to get some custom made but then I have to guess which power I'll need... hmmm

@@flo-ridafpv5713 I've tried cutting a bit by the nose 👃 but it's face shape that stops me. Being able to get closer as I have a small face and the corners of the faceplate stick way out so need thick foam to use them. Wish they made different size faceplates

What an incredible year for FPV. SO MUCH NEW TECH. I do feel sorry for Orca. Bad timing. I was so excited to buy Orca . But with 5 different analog goggles and now my DJI FPV i am pretty content. For now ....

They're great until they started blacking out for 5 seconds then back to the screen after I crash... The problem has happened on multiple quads which makes me believe it's to goggle.... The head strap also falls right out of the slot on the goggle for the os0.
Seems like a decent goggle. I would never drop that much money into a goggle that i would be uncertain of the after service of though. Just my opinion😊. Good review Albert!
I'm not sure why people think Skyzone after service is uncertain or that Fatshark is all that certain.

I noticed your two stubby antennas that stick straight out. The reception is weakest at the top of the antenna. Your setup suggests that you face down when you fly. Is that correct? Would you mind saying a few words about why you have your antennas set up like that? Looks clean and symmetrical but I'm curious about your choice for function. At the very least, wouldn't you want one facing sideways to get true diversity rather than redundancy?
I'm new, so I'm not saying I know better. I'm genuinely curious and hoping you can clarify any misunderstandings I have about how this stuff works. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Since they are at nearly right angles to each other, when reception is poor on one antenna, the other antenna will have strong signal.
I think he means the signal coming from the antenna are spreading out like ripples in the water when you throw a stone in.
So rather than the ripples spreading out around you, your setup has the ripples going straight into the ground and vertically above you, creating a wall of signal instead of emitting beams in all directions around you.
So if your antenna were on rods on 45 degree bends going straight up, you would create the never ending ripples outward like the throwing stone into water.
I just purchased 03O's, now I'm just finding out about the 4.3 aspect ratio, im dreading what they look like when they get here.
Either way Albert, I watched many of your videos lately, and just want to say thanks as the information you have provided on goggles has been very helpful to me over the past couple of months in my search for decent fpv kit.
And you were my deciding factor to go with skyzone goggles, I will let you know what I think when they arrive.

I just bought hdos glad i did just hearing you say fatsherk diigs in your head means the skyzones would be way to big for me . The seem really nice but i just dont like the built in reciever thing i think fatshark with being able to change modules is the way to go and with the glossy finish it just looks like cheap plastic but i dont know havent seen a pair look foward to your future vids on them
These also come with a narrow face plate to dig into your head for those who want that. LOL

Fatshark's bytefrost digital system require hdmi, so your argument is invalid. Any digital system will use hdmi so 🤷
@@mrph678 you'll piss off anyone anywhere by plugging in right next to them. This isn't something new to digital, pitmode and such is only a recent invention. A firmware update can easily fix that in DJI

@@noamamir0942 That is entirely subjective and a matter of preference. You may consider it to be but I absolutely hate 4:3 for fpv and have much better gate maneuvering on 16:9.
@@noamamir0942 almost everything is 16:9 on whoop cams nowadays. Even the ones advertised as 4:3 have 16:9 sensors like the Eos2 if i recall correctly. But even then i still prefer 4:3 cam on 16:9 goggles for minimal fisheye and still decent fov

Dear Skyzone.... Module? Did anyone realize how fast this hobby change? we don't know what's it's coming from TBS/ immersion RC/etc if tomorrow or next year they come with something better that rapidfire?
But really the technology that it's using on Rapidfire/etc could be copy by eachine etc and be on the streets in a thing of time on acceptable prices..

IMHO all goggles should be 16:9 by default.
No 16:9? In this day and age...., I like skyzones but in today's marketplace you need to be able to swap out the receiver. Great strides forwards are being made with modules and stitching diversity images together. No point having a lovely screen resolution if you are struggling with reception. Certainly not a HDO killer.....

Albert Kim but if you haven't tried HDO's with a rapidfire module how do you know what plenty is....I wouldn't call plenty flying round a few trees in a park.
It's all relative... It's plenty good for me... If 95% is good enough for me, but not for you, that's totally cool. I just don't need 100%. No one has done a side by side comparison of the receivers so you never know, maybe these receivers are actually better. Now, wouldn't that be a kick in the you know what... LOL.

@@SuperBradley79 i was checking rapidfire vs skyzone 02s internal receivers - rapidfire has worse or similar reception. Clearview, is very close to the level of the noise and sensitivity. But has some other problems. Fatshark users are used to change receivers pretty often because all of them dont give them "good enough" picture, have problems with dvr, with different cams sync and so on. Skyzone went another way - put the best receivers with proper switching logic and you dont have to change anything, just use them.
