Arcane Rising has been my favorite FaB set so far because I really liked the Runeblade and Mech class but Tales of Aria is looking pretty sweet too. I love the addition of adding elements. I liked doing that in the FF7 remake with Tifa. I would combine the elemental materia with lightning. Her combos would look so cool.

Congratulations professor! You have been making quality videos for so long now that hearing “let’s play the booster box game” now triggers nostalgia for me.
flesh and blood definitely looks like a lot of fun and tbh if youre some type of card collector, if it looks like the game will stick around for a while (and FAB definitely does seem to be gaining popularity) buying a box or two and either saving or saving the pulls could be worth the investment. more and more events for FAB are available at my LGS and i am debating whether or not i wanna try to learn it haha...provided new world grinds stop eating up the majority of my free time.
I got about the same results from my 3 loose boxes I opened. Got a cold foil New Horizon which made me happy. But I got so many playable cards. Built a super competitive Lexi Deck and just missing a few cards for Briar and Oldhim CC deck.
The day you got the first box, Oct1, was coincidentally the day when I bought a Blitz deck as a birthday gift to myself. Now I'm part of the ecosystem and I want more. Though one thing I would note, the 1st edition boxes in my country are being sold nearly TWICE its price (unli boxes return to around $120) which is ridiculous.
If you can get the first Edition to an reasonable (near or exactly MSRP) price, it's always worth to take a case to start a collection. You can sell your CF pulls and keep the other cards for free.
The third box is about how my first 17 boxes of fab anything I’ve opened. Out of 18 boxes I’ve only had one box blow my mind and it was a history vol 1 box I got 3 command and conquers, 2 art of wars. And the grasp arms around 40$ and 2 copies of spoils of war 1 beast with in as well as about 4-5$ cards. I mean I like got my money back plus about tripled the 115$ if not more then tripled. Since then tho. I treat it as I once did magic. I’ll buy the singles and draft the boxes now lol. Almost 2000$ to say okay! Stop wasting money! lol thanks for the video prof! You rock! I still love playing my prof! Round the table the most!
decent cold foils in this game basically always pay for the box until the first edition box prices explode like they did previously. I think FaB box openings are very misleading for value when you're doing 1st editions at release prices. Unlimited box value is much more geared toward your typical player... however, its really cool watching 1st editions opened and some of these pulls were pretty nuts.
I enjoy watching you branch out in your videos to feature other games. It's just as enjoyable as your Magic content. When will we get a Pokémon booster box game? 😁 Thanks Professor Magic. 🔔 See you next class. 👋
You had an overall profit of around $40. The first two boxes almost equalled another box; there was one that was around $30 the other one was around $80 which meant it really only took $10 to equal another box. You pulled really good in this one.
It's a frustrating thing for LSS to tackle dealing with the Legendary problem. It's an awesome feeling to see a card so rare and worth so much pulled in a draft or when you're sitting with buddies cracking packs, so you want that mystic moment to stay that way... but as the game grows people are obviously going to need those cards to play the game. Hopefully LSS makes Legendaries a little more common in future unlimited boxes (say 1 out of every 2 boxes), then the 1st edition pulls can be just as awesome while people can get the staples they need for even cheaper later.
I've never cracked a FaB pack, so apologies for the new guy question. Does FaB not put anything valuable at the back of the pack? It seems like you only really look at 4 cards every pack.
Can you PLEASE mark the "Cold Foil" next time instead of just putting "Foil"? Idk if people really know the difference in a mostly MTG crowd. Thanks, enjoyed the video!
Hi Prof, is this just the result of me having a small sample size or is there a huge delta between cheap and expensive cards in this game? Seem like there is jank and expensive but very little in the $2-$10 range.
Due to the rarity distribution, you'll get a handful of cards in that 2-10 range that are of the "majestic" rarity (about 1 in 3 packs). The big money cards tend to be those in the Legendary rarity, which are almost always equipment that won't require owning more than one and can easily be swapped between applicable decks, and come 1 in 96 packs.
Has anyone else noticed how many of these pack fresh cards have ex condition tops straight out hte pck? LOADS of my pack fresh stuff is worn on more than one edge or are pressed rather than nicely cut because the die's have gotten blunt in production and they use them too long. Whats this music anyone? I love it!
Could someone explain the layout of the packs? It seems like you skip about 5 Commons, then there are 2 uncommons or higher, then the foil, then what looks like 5 more commons at the back?? What a strange sandwich layout. Over all a great video! Hoping to get in to F&B soon; just need to convince some friends!
There are no uncommon rarities in F&B, it's common, rares, super rares, majestics, legendaries, and fableds. And the reason for the "sandwich layout" is that it protects the money cards in the middle incase of pack shuffling which is good as it protects the corners and condition if it's in the middle. But for each set it seems they change something so typically the cold foil slot replaces the foil slot of the card, but they decided it takes the equipment slot which is a good idea since you still get 24 foil cards at least. It's a great game to play with friends (after edh of course) lol
Flesh and Blood Players ask the question "Is it worth it to buy a case of 1st Edition Tales of Aria?". Play the Booster Box Case Game and see how you do. Hopefully you can do better on price for a case from your LGS.
I’ve not looked at the other two decks but Oldhim’s deck precon is really fun to play. It really gives Levia a run for her money and Chane’s precon as well. The latter was really struggling in my testing.
They cost around 12 dollars and come with a unique character foil that will basically cover the price of admission. I think a few rares is fair for the price point. If you want majestic, just buy singles as they are pretty cheap addons.
Yeah idk it really won't affect anything they aren't meant to be competitive they are just balanced between one another and offer a good place to start into the format.

@@Tryaldar I've invested so much in MTG that idk if I have the strength to learn and start over. Plus id have to find others to switch. In my small town it would be worse for me to try and switch over.
It's really not THAT expensive unless you going for the top of the top and even then the equipment can be used in multiple decks without any real hassle since they don't actually go in the deck. If you go only for 1st edition and full bling than yeah it can cost a bit, but the unlimited cards are fine and you totally play decent games without any of the expensive stuff

@@orzhovmdw The vast majority of the "rare" majestic cards are under 5 dollars, but the majority of the deck will be rares and Commons that'll be pennies on the dollar. The only things that are expensive are legendary equipment and specific generic majestics that you really don't need to have since you can only use 3 of any of them and usually it's going to offer a slight advantage in the form of flexibility. You can totally make a decent deck for under $100. You probably won't win the pro tour without the consistency some of the top end cards and equipment will provide, but I have never seen anyone who knew how to play the game get absolutely blown out by anyone else. At around 60-70 dollars a box if you and a couple friends each buy a box there's no reason you all shouldn't have enough cards to play at a local level armory event.
i just ordered a couple of blitz decks and 4 booster boxes of this game 2 arcane rising and 2 monarch lol. got the 1st box today, nothing that incredible in it though.
I find buying single FAB boxes to be too much of a coin flip, if you want more consistency then going for a case is usually the way to go since the legendary equipment can pay for all or most of the case.
Hey professor I was a little confused, are you saying that you actually sold these on the market for the prices listed or is this just the prices you found?

Can we please have more FaB vids
i just ordered a couple of blitz decks and 4 booster boxes of this game 2 arcane rising and 2 monarch lol. got the 1st box today, nothing that incredible in it though.
Brian. Pls do the commander black set break down
Tfw when profs bad box is still better than my first ed box 😥
Almost one year later and the price of the Creepers is down by $50, BUT so is the cost of a Box of ToA...
23:13, forgot to count the profit. Only $2.65, but it still counts.
I was anticipating “many FAB players ask the question...” but I guess that is not for this video
I find buying single FAB boxes to be too much of a coin flip, if you want more consistency then going for a case is usually the way to go since the legendary equipment can pay for all or most of the case.
That last box is always the box I get! 😭
Hey professor I was a little confused, are you saying that you actually sold these on the market for the prices listed or is this just the prices you found?
That is what I sold them for.
