I love how you explain while playing instead of frontloading everything. Seeing the game played is always more intuitive than just listening to all the rules at once.
Great stuff!! Love to see more FAB gameplay make its way to TH-cam - will have to get you on a Fight Nite someday 😈so glad you're having fun in the game : )
If you want some more easy to follow matches I have two channel recommendations: The first is the main FAB channel called Flesh and Blood TCG. Watch their recent 'Rosetta Blitz Deck Battle' videos, as well as their 'How To Play Wizard' and 'How To Play Runeblade' videos. My second recommendation is the channel Three Floating. They post matches that are very easy to follow. I used them to learn the game.
As an additional option as well, without knowing where you are, I can promise there is a local community with a deck ready and waiting for you to try at a local Armory (our version of FNM), most likely with a local Pro player attached to it to show you the ropes. The FaB trailer from a couple weeks ago titled "A Night at the Armory" is very much based on real events haha
Not even close, this is the best video about FnB I've seen. It makes the game make so much sense. I'd be down for watching more of these. Hope it does well.
Very excited to see you adding FaB to the channel. Loved the game, hope to see you playing some CC in the future! At 16:20 - The Concuss actually gets +4 attack so it should have attacked for 8 as Flourish gives +3 on top of whatever the effect is that increases the damage.
Glad to see you are enjoying Flesh and Blood. I still watch your magic videos from time to time, but haven't played much magic since MH2. I moved to Flesh and Blood around that time and have been loving it!
So excited to see more amazing people picking up our game! Excellent video! Oh, and as for my hero, I'm playing Dash for now. But really, I'm just biding my time until our dragon queen takes to the skies once more.
Absolutely loved this! Thanks so much for making a really easy guide to Flesh and Blood specifically for magic players. I’ve been wanting to get into the game and this is exactly the video i was looking for.
What a great video! I've been wanting to start F&B for a while but always been a bit confused when watching explanation vids, but this is super clear! Thank you!
10:40 One mistake from Terra. The chest activation is an Action, in order to do that, you need to have an Action Point. So in this case, you need to firstly destroy the chest, which has Go Again, and then attack with Burgeoning which does not have Go Again. Other way around is not possible. But I understand that coming from MTG, it's weird that an activated ability can't be used whenever (imagine it's like a Sorcery spell). It's not a huge mistake, does not really change anything for both players, but the correct way would give information to Aurora, that you are floating one resource for some reason and will probably do something more (could be huge if there were some Attack Reactions in that deck).
Great video!! Super glad to see more magic players introducing fab to people -- one small nitpick though, there's a sequencing error at 10:47. Alfri cannot use blossom of spring to add 1 resource/mana at that time, because it is an action and he does not have an action point / go again. He could have used it before playing the burgeoning, floated 1 extra mana and then used terra at end of turn, but rules as written he cannot do it in the order presented. Not a big deal at the end of the day, just wanted to leave this comment for the sake of new players learning.
@@MengusWorkshop One more thing, because 'floating' mana was mentioned. In Magic, you can activate mana abilities pretty much whenever you want. In FaB, however, there are two limitations. #1 is that you can never pitch cards for no reason, so 'floating' can sometimes become a bit trickier #2 is that if you already have some resources in your resource pool when you're about to pay for something, those are used first and then you pitch cards one by one until you have enough Most of the time this isn't important, but certain weapons like Anothos gain additional power if you pitch cards the right way when activating them. Let's say you have a blue card and a red card in your hand, both with the cost 3. If you just pitch the blue to activate Anothos, its activation cost will be fully satisfied and it will attack for 4. However, if you pitch the red first, you will have the option to pitch more cards and 'overpitch' by pitching the blue, thus fulfilling the condition for the extra power on Anothos, and send it for a total of 6 damage! This can become especially intriguing for the opponent if you can 'float' two resources while having presented an attack with cost 2 or more, because of a very famous attack reaction called Pummel :) Pitching cards is quite important in this game, and I am sure that as you become more and more proficient, you will start seeing more clever tricks that can be performed by simply pitching cards in a specific order. Maybe even stack your whole deck this way for a one turn kill combo? ;)
Really cool game. A lot of tactical considerations and the fact that you draw back up to 4 per turn is pretty great, it leads to games that feel very back and forth and interactive!
Absolutely brilliant to just dive into a game and explain as you go. So many explainers made my head spin because they tried to front load all the rules without context. This was super easy to follow and did a great job highlighting the game!
In Lyon you said you already had plans to post some FaB content, I wasn't expecting it would be already this month. Great to see and very clear explanation
I've been playing mtg for almost 18 years and a few months ago i started trying some FnB, it is a really cool game. I totally agree with the slow aproach on the equipments, nice work mengu
Yes!! finally some Flesh and Blood content. I love this game so much, an amazing TCG. Especially since magic keeps mistepping recently, this game is an awesome alternative!
I haven't played in quite a while, but you're making me want to pick it back up again! I played Fai and loved having so many little attacks to wittle down the opponent.
I was watching the video and the title was "flash" and blood! 😆 Someone changed in the time I was watching it? Great video lads! Really enjoyed the explanation during the match! Cheers!
im very glad ya guys did this! burgeoning at 10:53 doesnt have go again for the blossom of springs action. but other than that, looks pretty good guys!
The competitive scene of FAB should in fact be very attractive for Magic Pro Players, and with them more players will come. Happy to see more ppl appreciate the game and trying to show it the way you are doing. Hats off to you
great video, vut there was one öitle misplay at 10:52. You cant use your Blossom of Spring after attacking because it's an action and your attack doesn't have go again. So if you wanted to do that, you had to do that before your attack because the spring have go again :) Still, it was just a small misplay. Hope you enjoy the game and thanks again for the video :)
Now that you’ve got a primer I wanna see you play your CC deck against an opponent and play out matches with less rules explaining and more nuanced decision explaining. Would be sick to watch!! Happy you’re enjoying FaB. I’ve been playing it for a few years and love seeing people get into it!
As you know I started playing after Calling Lyon because of your tweets! Fully addicted and recently went 2-1 in my first draft playing Aurora 😤 looking forward to some more FaB veedeos!
Great to see FAB content from Mengu! Using the precon blitz decks was a great idea, they're much easier to understand than some of the crazy nonsense that happens out there. But if you want some crazy nonsense for the algorithm, check out what Kano could do in blitz before he became Living Legend. People were maindecking Kano hate and it still wasn't enough to stop him. I won second with him in a Skirmish, didn't get a chance to take him to a bigger tourney before he LLed. Side note, at 10:41, this is actually not a legal play. It's an action to use the Blossom of Spring, and Burgeoning didn't have go again. This is part of why Fyendal's Spring Tunic is so powerful, it's an Instant and not an Action.
Yeees Flesh and Blood and Mengu, the dream combination! Love to see this, I was super (pleasantly) surprised to see you play on stream in the Calling Lyon, hope you keep enjoying it and bring more FaB content! Also heard you qualified for PT, see you in London!
! Mengu tries FaB ! Looking forward to see what happens. In my experience, FaB is extremely dense in decisions and caused me analysis-paralysis whenever I tried it.
Great video Andrea! My main hero right now is Aurora, I got 3 top 8s in pro quest with her and qualified for London. I might be playing her in osaka for worlds too! (But my favourite will be playing living legend team cup with Briar)
So nice to see some FaB, rope to see more games. It would be nice to see a deck techs before the game begins, since I don't know the game very well and have no ideia on what to expect from the decks.
great video mengu! I know you from the Cardmarket Magic gameplay videos which I watch all the time, excited to see you on FaB now! just one small ruling: at 15:42 when Alfri used Flourish and his Arms Equipment to buff his Concuss, the Concuss would have gained 4 attack, not only 3. Flourish increases the attack boost by 3, not to 3; so instead of the Arms equipment boosting the attack by 1, it boosts it by 3+1=4 and you maybe have had to block with another card or discard one. Great video nonetheless, love the editing and how easy it was to understand your gameplay, really love another TH-camr starting with FaB ❤
For sure! But the gameplay is really different between classes, so you might have this midrange style for guardians and runeblades, but you also have wizards can combo and deal all your HP worth of damage in a single turn, or you might like illusionist which amass an army of allies to attack for them. It's actually really varied!
It's great to see such a legendary MTG player trying out FaB. @@MengusWorkshop Is Tommy gonna play FaB on the channel? Love the banter between you two, would love to see you play FaB with Tommy as well!
Miss play on the chest piece hehe
I volunteer for this type of comment nxi! Lmao 🤣
I loved how you slowly introduced the equipment and other parts of the game while playing. Great intro to the game and i hope you make more videos
Thanks. I had to find a way to tell about equipment without showing the very overwhelming board you start fab with
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you put out more of these!

Convert them all Mengu. Show them the ways. I fucking LOVE flesh and blood.
FnB always seemed a little difficult to get into. This gameplay showcases that it's really not the case. Great video
Great to read this comment :)
the base level is almost too easy to get. the depth therefore is beyond imagination
