  • Father's Day is a time to reflect on what it means to lead, protect, and build strong families. It's also a time to stand firm in our calling as Men. That's why we hosted the exceptional Men's Breakfast on Father's Day weekend, featuring Pastor Doug Wilson-one of the nation's most provocative and unapologetic thinkers, authors and speakers.
Pastor Wilson has been making waves with his bold insights and fearless approach to defending biblical masculinity. Recently featured on Tucker Carlson and creator of a new must watch docuseries: “Future Men: Raising Boys to Fight Giants”, Wilson brings clarity and strength to a world where true manhood is under attack.
Listen in to strengthen your resolve and redefine what it means to be a MAN in today's world.

Pastor Doug Wilson and fellow pastors,
I have a question regarding your support for biblical patriarchy: Why do you solemnize government marriage license contracts if you are committed to upholding patriarchal principles? By participating in these legal frameworks, aren't you aligning your churches with government regulations that promote gender equality and undermine traditional biblical roles within marriage? How do you reconcile this practice with your advocacy for patriarchy?

Well I'm neither Douglas Wilson nor a pastor, but I am a patriarchist.
The state doesn't have a place in establishing marriages; it never has. Marriage has always been the covenant promise between a man and a woman. In fact, there is also a misconception that the church makes a marriage; not true. God makes the marriage.

@@seanrendall5495 Thank you. There is no clergy performed marriage ceremony in the Bible.

Doug Wilson’s statement, “in conclusion my prayer is that I may have given you some faint notion of what burnt marsh wiggle smells like,” likely employs metaphorical language to convey his point. The "burnt marsh wiggle" reference, possibly drawn from C.S. Lewis's *The Chronicles of Narnia*, may suggest a vivid, unpleasant, or memorable experience meant to leave a strong impression on his audience. Essentially, he hopes his message has made a significant impact, even if it is somewhat uncomfortable or challenging to grasp.

@@1Whipperin that's really close, but I've heard Doug use this metaphor multiple times. Burnt marsh wiggle refers to The Silver Chair and the scene where the green witch is almost successful in re-enchanting the group with her lies about reality. The solution is that puddleglum stomps in the fire and the smell of burnt marsh wiggle is jarring enough to wake the group out of their stupor and cause them to see clearly the witch's lies and fight back

We host our most of our events at outside the walls of a church either in hotels or auditoriums. We are not part of any one denominational silo.
