Christopher Ward have already experimented with a ceramic case. The C1000 Chronograph launched in 2013 had a titanium subframe and a ceramic case. These watches were retired from the range in 2016 and Christopher Ward have stated that they don't intend to do another ceramic case. The C63 Colchester takes the C63 Titanium Elite a step further. I think the "slow" crown is new but it still has the very thin titanium crown which is a bit tricky to use. I like the look of the carbon case and dial and the extra millimeter in case diameter might stop it looking very small on wrist which is something the C63 titanium "suffers" from. Clearly YMMV on this one but I find the C63 Ti/Elite wears to small for its size. Great review and another great Christopher Ward.
Love this watch. I have my eyes set on the C60 Lympstone or the CWC SBS Diver as I’m currently training to apply for the Royal Marines and think this would be an awesome watch to take into service. It’s nice to see some companies show some love and respect to the armed forces.
CW have just released a whole new line of military watches you may be interested in. We discussed CWC in our last livestream about British watches and last nights livestream. I also have a review of the G10 on the channel! Good watches, the pricing used to be all over the place but it seems to have leveled out now. Thanks for watching!
I've had mine since early December and love it, the case and dial are fantastic and it's very comfortable on the wrist. I agree with you about the crown, very cool, but tricky to wind because it's so small, but overall a brilliant watch.
@@CasualWatchReviews it's a bit early to say, it's in my rotation along with another 9 watches so I guess time will tell. However I don't really see it as an issue, more as a characteristic of this particular watch. IMHO the pros definitely out weigh the cons.
What a fantastic looking watch, and being a cos certified. I have a very small wrist. Max size for me would be 36. 34mm is ideal. I'm finding it difficult to find something nice. Still looking.
I think the military watch category is the most hype driven and overblown category. It’s cool to have tough colors, creative lume, funky Materials and all kinds of tough marketing, but any tough watch with good visibility would be fine. Any other cool looking stuff is just extra. I only ever used Casios when I was in the army, and they were perfect with immediate recognition of the time, stopwatch, alarm, and a clean light. This watch seems pretty awesome in general. 👍
A question, knowing the the crown comes out not by screw down, but via pressing and it springs out. Have you tried to see whether the crown comes out very easily or is prone to accidental ejection? I am keen on getting it but just concerned that the crown might just pop out easily during outdoor or tougher use. :)
Hey! I actually only had the watch for maybe two weeks. But the crown is pretty secure in there. I can’t imagine a scenario where the crown would eject on its own, unless it took a knock to the actual recessed crown itself.
@@CasualWatchReviews awesome thanks! I had just found out about CW and ordered a C60 Elite in blue/orange before researching all their watches thoroughly. I am a fan of lighter watches and prefer titanium cos of it’s hypoallergenic properties (I can breakout from nickel exposure). I returned the Elite though cos of the height. Thinking about getting this watch. But also considering the Trident Pro 300 (even though it’s stainless steel).
Hey, I have talked about the super compressor a few times in the channel I also discussed it at length with Mike the CEO of CW on one of our chats. Let me see if I can find it.
Great review again Sam. As with every other CW, solid build and design at a price point to put other, more established brands to shame. Giving this one a miss though, in favour of the green dial C63 and the soon to be released new C65.
Is that the same style of retractable crown that’s on the £43k Omega Aqua terra? They use this as one of the justifications and selling points for the price!
Hi, I actually asked that exact question the last time I interviewed Mike. No this is unique to them, but your right I think that aqua terra has a retractable crown, they are not the same. That interview is the last one we did on the channel!
For me CW makes more nice or very nice watches than just about anyone. However, while there is a lot to love about this watch that splotchy carbon look just isn’t my thing. Don’t even like it when Zenith does it. Still, such a great, creative brand. The pop out crown is quite clever.
I really like this watch, but man you remeber me of some kind of Actor, it might be Mark Strong you remember me of, especially the way you talk and your facial expression. I could not concentrate on the video haha.

I totally missed they did a ceramic case... let me pin your comment! Thanks Mark!
@@CasualWatchReviews Happy to help, Sam.
Ok popeye
Absolutely beautiful and functional. And COSC. For $1200? Wow!
Great review!! I love what CW is doing! They are an awesome brand. This is such a cool piece!
Another great piece from CW..
totally agree!!

Hi David, did the the tension on the crown ease up when winding it?

I'm going to be working on a video about this, I will contact you for some input!
It is hard not to love Christopher Ward wrist watches.

@@CasualWatchReviews thanks so much for the feedback. I may very well be purchasing it :)
Any thoughts on the water resistance with the retractable crown???
I interviewed Mike the CEO about it. They spent a long time in R&D on the crown so I wouldn’t be too worried about the water resistance.

i noticed you've not reviewed the C65 Supercompressor. would like to hear your thoughts on this one. thanks for the vids :)

Not sure if I should go for this one or the elite. Both look amazing
I have not seen the elite but I think I would go for that if it was me. This one is very unique but I think the titanium would be even better
Another forward thinking watch from CW. Is there an internal bezel?
The bezel is fixed.
Yes spot on, sorry no bezel!
great video, thanks for reviewing!
Anytime, I love getting my hands on your new watches!

I love my C65! Thanks for watching Phil!
very nice.... i love it ..... and COSC at this price is brill.... cheers
Couldn't agree more!
They should send you one of those for free Sam. I'm Irish and you have me wanting to buy one of these.
Yep I would love a free watch from them... but it is cool to get my hands on these new ones and they get the views

I believe that the retractable crown used by Omega and CW are made by the same firm, based in France but I haven't been able to find out who they are.
Hi Mark, I can’t remember but we talked about it on that sea lander interview on the channel.

Mark Strong is a great actor, I would have also accepted Jason Statham cheers for watching!
COSC at this price. Original too. I would feel proud to wear one. Great macros on the dial :)
