I really love how Anne’s red hair, which she has always hated, turns out being a link to her mother. I’m sure that now she knows she got her fiery locks from her mother she will love and cherish her hair.
Thank you for reacting to this very special show.

I live where Queen's University is... literally down the street from me. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from here to Toronto, depending on traffic. I expect trains then may have been slower than the 100km/hr we can do on the highways here. So they would probably end up being about 3-4 hours away from each other maybe.
Ka'kwet unfortunately never stood a chance against our government... and it's likely she was never rescued and suffered horrible abuse (if not death) at the hands of those running the school. A couple quick facts I grabbed from a government website for you --
Indigenous children were forcibly taken from their homes by RMCP (police).
150,000 Indigenous children were taken from their families.
90 to 100% suffered severe physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
There was a 40 - 60% mortality rate in Indian residential schools.
Residential schools date back to the 1870s.
Over 130 residential schools were located across Canada, and the last school closed as recently as 1996.
Two-thirds of Canadians believe (and four in ten strongly believe) that Canadians with no experience in Indian residential schools have a role to play in reconciliation between Indigenous peoples and all Canadians.
Thanks for sharing your reaction to this series! I've really enjoyed your journey, and will miss watching it.

Thank you, Shelley, for reacting to this wonderful series and thereby raising awareness of this great and important show that illustrates so much of our complex and at times very upsetting history. 💕🙏💕
I think it's fitting that the show wasn't able to tie up these stories with a neat little bow for us. 🤷
In having to wonder whether Ka'kwet survived (and knowing she likely did not) it draws our thoughts to the very real Indigenous communities throughout history whose children's lives did not have happy endings.
And having to wonder if Bash and Miss Stacey ever pursued a courtship, we are forced to really consider what that would have looked like for them and the obstacles they would have surely faced.
In pondering whether Cole ever found love, we find ourselves reminded that even if he did, he was in for a life of secrecy (similar to what Jo and Gertie had experienced) and that many doors would unfortunately be closed to him.
And if we want to know how our main characters fared, we can crack open the beloved tombes of Lucy Maud Montgomery and read all about Anne and Gilbert, their children, their life together, her journey as a teacher, and his as a doctor. We can celebrate their achievements with them and grieve their tragedies with them, too. Those cherished stories have already been told beautifully from start to finish. ❤🙏❤
Anyway, that's probably an unpopular opinion, but regardless, I have truly enjoyed watching these with you and am very grateful for your reactions! 😊🥰😍

I feel like they cancelled it just when things were getting going, there is so much more to come with Anne's story..... I hope it gets picked back up! so far over 1.5 million signatures on the petition.

Re: Ka’kwet storyline in the last episode, it's very subtle but Anne takes Ka’kwet’s hair ties with her to Queens

I know I'm yeas late D: but I'm pretty sure the Ka'kwet storyline was going to continue and resolve in season 4 as well as I think ( from what I remember ) Bash and the teacher's storyline was gonna continue. ( I forget if it was said to be romantic or a strong friendship but either way ). just sadly, a lot of set up for season 4 and season 4 never came....even despite the huge number of fans begging the company and petitions signed. this show definitely was not cancelled due to the lack of fans, it was cancelled over a stupid reason. they should have let the show continue. hopefully currently they're still able to come back to the series. for the most part the majority of the actors wouldn't mind or love the idea of returning to the Anne with an E story and all the younger actors all look like believable college age still. ( the only possible recast is Minnie May? due to her being older than her character now I think . edit: I looked it up and she's actually 14 this year O__O whattt? time sure flies. )

I finished the series a few weeks ago, and it's the best thing I've ever seen, but I feel (like a lot of fans) that some stories and/or subplots are not complete
This series deserves a proper ending
