As someone who is max ilvl and 150k+ threads on my main in remix, I am happy they made this change. It makes playing alts more fun now, instead of them being insanely behind everyone now.
I always buy the epic edition because the month sub makes the extra $20 worth it anyway, when you factor in the rest of the bonus items. So the early access is just an extra thing that won't matter cause i suck at leveling.
Early Access to game is mostly related to what you suspect: undiscovered issues. On top of that, if they spread over time the amount of players doing the same stuff, then they avoid having to allocate enormous computational resources at once. IT resources management and troubleshooting on-the-fly. Money comes with that, naturally
Despite buying every physical collectors edition since Wrath, I've only ever tried to play on day one of an expansion twice - Wrath and Cataclysm. Both times the experience was so painful that I now avoid the game on launch day because I just expect the servers to crash or refuse me entry (although I understand that might not have happened with Dragonflight?). Having a load of players start 4 days early might actually make my experience on "regular" launch day much better - if that is the case I would expect this model to be replicated in future expansions.
I always found the initial rush incredibly charming. Even though I would only log on for a bit to witness it. This new system is identical except it’s a money grab. No change. No improvement or differences for you. You still log on several days after launch.

Thank you for the WA. I'm done with everything, but it's kinda hard to verify in-game because most things at the vendor don't indicate that you've bought it before. So the only way to verify would be to go go through and buy all the items and try to learn them to check if you can or not. This WA is way easier :D
7:40 that's like.. the hardest question to answer ever, one I fight with throughout the entirety of an expansion season to season. Especially since i always have every class, now i have 2 of every class with the remix leveling lolol.
QUESTION: Can you continue to earn Traders tender after completing the monthly objective in your adventure tab? Want to be able to buy more from the vendor each month, but will not pay real money for it. Maybe Blizzard could change this in the future.
Question Has there been any news regarding changes to past expansions personal loot situation in the open world specifically? With the upcoming "Collect all the mogs on any character (or at least warband bound tokens, etc)" changes do we still have to have an army of alts to farm specific mogs, such as stuff dropping from Zereth Mortis rares etc?
Yeah, those affixes, as a Warrior main, the bleed is probably the only thing I would have any advantage on, which seems negligible. It's possible that's the point is the affixes are just an inconvenience so the average player doesn't feel discouraged.
I did pay for the big one, but I will start on Monday night. I have been playing since closed beta in 2004 and I am all in, faults and successes, for launch day.
Been farming my main panda to garrosh mythic, bought everything on the vendors, got all the reputations and lvled 16 alts to 70 boosting myself using a trial account booster. Back to retail to gear alts with bullions and farming mythic nyalotha for mount :D
Hazel's theory about the extra day is almost an extension of my theory about why they did the early access. They know they always have all sorts of issues on launch day. Some are bugs, some are just way too many players being on at once (like how people got stuck in instances on day 1 of Dragonflight because they couldn't load into the main zones). Early access gives them time to put out quick fixes to bugs and helps split the load of players. Obviously there is still a money aspect even in my theory. They could put money towards scaling up the servers for the first few days and then scale them back after that. Given that they can layer servers, it seems that this sort of scaling should be possible. But with the early access method they make more money by spending nothing extra, rather than charging nothing extra and spending more money. Doesn't really bother me though. I would complain about spoilers from people who see the content first but the betas and datamining ensure that spoilers are already out there.
Actually, 2h leveling alts for Bronze is still very strong, because every one of the raid bosses you kill for teh XP tokens also drops a bronze cache, and there are also teh 2 dailies you take along teh way, that adds up to roughly another 15k bronze, so now you´re getting ~90-100 k in teh same 2h you needed before for 75-80 🍻
Question - do you happen to know if the reputation we earn in Panda Remix will remain when our toons move to War WIthin? Doing the campaign stuff in Remix I have hit exalted rep and wondering if I should farm rep of other factions/groups before the expansion is here and our toons automatically move. Thanks and love your show!!
I’m unsure how I feel about the affixes. Blizz’s intent is to reduce the amount of extra stuff that can be done by only some classes and make the dungeons feel more uniform, but until we do them, I don’t know whether I’ll like them or not. Even though I bought Epic edition, I’m not a fan of early access.
As of yesterday my first Timerunner is 476 and i begun spending all bronze on mounts. I have two low level timerunners and i have zero motivation to log into them because i barely have time to alt like i used to. 4 toons is more than enough for me
I ain’t going to give an inch, it’s different if it’s a single player game but releasing an MMO early for me people who pay extra is just making me not even want to play. I can feel the scum oozing off of Blizzard.
Question: I am confused about remix transmog. Is what's on the vendors exactly what drops in the raids in remix or is it only stuff that drops in retail NOT in remix? I.e. should i be buying transmog sets or not haha
I keep hearing the epic edition is offering early access mainly. Something some arent looking at is there is a pet on epic edition too. I have epic edition but dont think it will offer anything over the other editions.
The conquest changes are extremely extremely stupid, In exchange for losing a piece of conquest gear each week we get a single main slot item worth of conquest after 10 weeks.... so we are trading 10 rng pieces for a singular piece 10 weeks in. One of the best things about dragonflight was that gearing was super fast even if you go unlucky worst case scenario you got sockets. Now we are getting less gear, we still have no idea how to get sockets. Pve gear will be pretty important early season with said gear being slowed down, we still don't have a way to get tier other then the catalyst so at minimum you need three charges assuming you use the token you get for hitting 1600 (which still feels awful that I have to choose between pve and pvp along with crafted pieces still being shared)
Let’s be real, launch day is the 22nd. But we’re only allowed to experience it if we paid twice as much money. If not, then we have to wait 4 days after launch day to play the game. Since I’m already missing out on launch day I’ll just wait for the real reviews to come in before I buy this xpac
I agree with you on the early access. It's all about money, the whole game is anymore, not about making a fun game for folks who have played forever and for new folks but greed. It also lets those who do it suss out the best glitches and cheats they can do to get ahead quickly as usual.
People complaining about blizzard dirty move of ask for more money for few days of early access but you see the same people right there waiting for it supporting it -.- If just people could say no and not supporting it this wouldn't happen, but sadly is a very profitable business since people always show up to support bad practices
I agree with you on the paid early access, it might help make the launches smoother though at least. Though, its been a while since I played the actual launch of an expansion, so idk how those have been lately.
Question: Oh mighty Hazel, mysterious mistress of masterful mailbox manipulation, how does leaving loot on the ground work? I know that you will get loot from bosses in your mailbox but what about trash? It seems like trash loot doesn't go into your mailbox. If it did I'd have mail after every raid, which I don't. Inquiring minds want to know!
I have the epic edition which allows me access to the beta and the early access yet I have no plans to go into the beta or play during the early access period either even though I am not in a guild and play the game mostly alone because if I was in a guild with numerous others it wouldn’t be fair for me to be in questing and getting geared up four whole days before the others can. I will however download the game so it’s ready to go on the official opening day for everyone and maybe go in and look around at the new areas to see what they actually look like.
The thing about early access is.. 4 days is plenty to hit 80 and then some. So we'll all be 80doing end game on one character, while everybody else is just starting to level. Kind of an advantage, but then again not, cause you won't have the end game gear ahead of anyone, because access to that starts all together for everyone. But still, a head start on materials needed for this and that.
I like the 3 days early because it gives me a breathing time to do the story stuff without feeling like I'm being forced to rush them to keep up progress wise. But that is a very niche and specific thing.
I agree about the early access for people who $$$ being kinda dumb. BUT... there's something way cooler about the fact that you ground out the tokens to do it. THAT makes it respectable, you earned it rather than just pissed away some money to be granted awesomeness. I like it..! And money saved for something else!
@7:18 Is there a non-weak aura way to track this? I love the functionality but I have a personal thing against using weak auras(no hate, it's just not for me is all
Love the videos and respect your opinions. My thought on the early access is the community fault. Everyone wants to play early now. The days of waiting in line or waiting for the context to drop is going away. I loved waiting all night to get a physical copy. But unfortunately the newer generation playing games are impatient
They sucker you in. The launch day for everyone who doesn't buy the Epic Edition is on a Monday, and I think that's no good -- kina lame to start on a Monday. That's how this works. That's how they do it.
Leveling the alts did get slightly better. If you pick up the quests and hand them in when you reach 69 or 70, and all the achievements and "one time a day" rewards from doing dungeons now double. Sure it's not completely doubled, but you might get 5-10k bronze now than what you did before the change. Not huge, but not small either.
What I hate about the bronze change - I *knew* they'd do something like that. I knew I could farm bronze later, instead of getting to 476 week ago. But I was not 100% confident the community would be here if they made these changes 70 days in. Could I still do mythic SoO in entirely abandoned mode? Would anyone even do hc raids with people who weren't maxed then? Probably some, but didn't want to take that risk. Shame that it's always the same, knowing Blizz might fix something, or maybe not. Just the same with Karokta mount farm in first week of 10.1. Go thru it with gazillion of alts per day, or risk them not buffing droprate? Either I get it in few months, or I never will when groups stop popping. You never know if they do the necessary nerf in 2 days or 10 years.
9:50 Question! Samuelle here again, is the ilvl from remix gonna be carried over when the character is transfered? I saw somewhere that they’ll just give everyone the boosted character armor set 😓
Expansion release dates mattered when the community was helpful and communicative, it's basically a solo rpg in an mmo world now. Take the early access away or not and it doesn't really change anything game wise... if anything it will help beta test the expansions start for others and split the load up so the expansion launch won't have mega downtime or crowds of people trying to all grab the same mobs creating some frenzy. Will there be sweaties that will be 80 before the other people start the expansion??? Probably but those same sweaties would have darted ahead anyways and still beat everyone to 80 so it doesn't really change much.
It's a 19% higher cap in the first week, slowly reducing to an 11% higher cap in the last week before the cap is removed. On the one hand I also dislike them getting rid of the 1 free piece of PvP gear a week, but on the other hand now I no longer will feel like I have to do a certain amount of PvP every single week to not miss my gear chances. I wish they would just get rid of the great vault and make PvE gearing also on a currency system like valor, then I wouldn't feel like I have to get done any amount of content every single week.
The issue with the new affixes is that they'll be a weekly focus on certain classes, and it'll be them classes that will be the flavour of the week while alienating the rest, creating a significant imbalance. It's just going to increase the already rife elitism and toxicity. Blizzard clearly knows this, but doing this anyway, purposely creating a needless problem for themselves. It's already received considerable pushback from many, which has gone ignored by blizzard which comes as no surprise. As someone who likes to have fun pushing higher keys, this is going to be a headache, and if it's releasing like this, it is going to prevent me from getting TWW, like many have already voiced their concerns about.
I wonder if the buff will get bigger, which could mean leaving the Bronze Caches un-opened until the buff gets bigger could be a good idea if your just looking to buy the stuff off the vendors? Edit: Question would this be a good idea or do you think it will not work?
I bought epic edition, but i did it because I wanted the heroic edition for the mount, and $20 more for epic basically pays for itself with the pet, toys, and game time. Which kinda sucks because I’m super against the EA but my purchase doesn’t reflect that.
Im in Beta , and there are a TON of issues right now , like constant dcs and broken quests. i have no doubt it will be fixed , but Beta is unplayable as of now.
Hm. The affixes being targeted by fire/frost and shadow/holy are SO prefering specific classes. I mean mages get an insta invite anyhow. Now it will be like: You CANNOT not take a mage to a M+ (they will literally melt the thrash away in higher keys). That means: druids, monks, warlocks etc. can go home.
Paid early access never bugged me in FFXIV. Though to be fair thats a much less competitive game and since theres no beta its a crashing bugfest during early access so you will get stuck somewhere or be unable to play at all.
Question: I have a few questions I hope thats ok. 1. what are your feelings on the new races coming in TWW? The dwarfs and the elf/trolls. 2. Is it true dracthyr are going to be opened up to other classes and even allowed to fight in there visage form? 3. Do you think visage form is something theyll expand on if they do allow us to stay in it at all times? Id love to hear your thoughts on these. I love your videos, thank you for sharing each week!
I bought the epic edition for the month and cosmetics. Totally against the head start. I’d rather they just apologize and give another cosmetic to epic edition or refund to heroic and let everyone play. I agree 100% hazel.
I HAVE the gold to go to buy the epic, but I just don't see the benefit. I have already pre-purchased the base edition on my main account. I am concerned that 'early access' comes and the game in partially or completely unplayable during the early access period. We all know Blixz won't offer any compensation as they will say Epic is not just about the early access (game time, mounts, pets, etc.).
the new affixes seems like its to shake up the meta but to me it seems like its going to do the complete opposite with pugging like "you play a warlock on the arcane damage week? eat shit nerd"
Those 4 new affixes are gonna have weeks where specific trash is going to be brutal i can predict it now. Anytime casters have increased haste the party is always in for a bad time
If you don't think you get ahead in gold making, like REALLY ahead, with the 4 days, then I don't know what to say. Estimating that enough gold would be made to cover the expenses of that edition that gives EA and then some.

I love watching Hazel say it's Saturday on a weekday It gives me that relaxed weekend feel for a little while
QUESTION: Can you continue to earn Traders tender after completing the monthly objective in your adventure tab? Want to be able to buy more from the vendor each month, but will not pay real money for it. Maybe Blizzard could change this in the future.
I still think Draenor had the best pvp gear system
Question
Has there been any news regarding changes to past expansions personal loot situation in the open world specifically? With the upcoming "Collect all the mogs on any character (or at least warband bound tokens, etc)" changes do we still have to have an army of alts to farm specific mogs, such as stuff dropping from Zereth Mortis rares etc?
Are you farming for the unique weapon appearances in Remix?
Yeah, those affixes, as a Warrior main, the bleed is probably the only thing I would have any advantage on, which seems negligible. It's possible that's the point is the affixes are just an inconvenience so the average player doesn't feel discouraged.
I did pay for the big one, but I will start on Monday night. I have been playing since closed beta in 2004 and I am all in, faults and successes, for launch day.
Your video helped me level up a new 70 every day. I’ve been having a blast.
Been farming my main panda to garrosh mythic, bought everything on the vendors, got all the reputations and lvled 16 alts to 70 boosting myself using a trial account booster. Back to retail to gear alts with bullions and farming mythic nyalotha for mount :D
I have one of every class, and two (or more) of others...like hunters...so it's always REALLY hard to know what to level first.
Actually, 2h leveling alts for Bronze is still very strong, because every one of the raid bosses you kill for teh XP tokens also drops a bronze cache, and there are also teh 2 dailies you take along teh way, that adds up to roughly another 15k bronze, so now you´re getting ~90-100 k in teh same 2h you needed before for 75-80 🍻
Thanks Hazel, I've played in and out of wow since OG Vanilla and always have watched your vids. Good job.
4 toons is more than enough for me
It was marketed as *at least 3 days*. I'm kinda glad it ended up being 4 days and not 7 or something lol.
I ain’t going to give an inch, it’s different if it’s a single player game but releasing an MMO early for me people who pay extra is just making me not even want to play. I can feel the scum oozing off of Blizzard.
should wait an extra week to get it to mess up the ole launch numbers in retaliation ;)
Question:
I am confused about remix transmog. Is what's on the vendors exactly what drops in the raids in remix or is it only stuff that drops in retail NOT in remix? I.e. should i be buying transmog sets or not haha
I Agree with you about the " Pay for early Access" feels dirty to me as well. Love your vids, been watching for years. Keep it Up!
It feels dirty that there were folks who knew to save bronze caches up in their banks to get double the reward from them, as if some had insider info.
People complaining about blizzard dirty move of ask for more money for few days of early access but you see the same people right there waiting for it supporting it -.-
If just people could say no and not supporting it this wouldn't happen, but sadly is a very profitable business since people always show up to support bad practices
I don't see raid testing available yet on the beta......
4 days early. And I’m sure most of it will be in queue, server crashes, server restarts, etc
Oh probably, but in theory...
Hey Hazel what are the chances that the cloak will become a toy or heirloom cloak at the end of REMIX to signify our participation in the event.
I especially love how they released it globally at the same time. And now thos 😅
I love the functionality but I have a personal thing against using weak auras(no hate, it's just not for me is all
7:15 most sane wow player ever
The big day was also terrible for lag, so maybe breaking it up will help improve the experience.
It doesnt matter because you will replace that gear as soon as you start leveling in TWW
@@alexandrasiredzukova4398556 is above normal difficulty TWW dungeon loot(551).
Glad to see gold is part of warbands. About time
It’s weird how they got rid of 1 free PvP item a week, yet barely gave 10% extra Conquest to compensate.. that’s NOWHERE near enough! 🤨
Totally agree about that early release 👍🏻
Totally agree it feels gross :) When is the pre-launch event?
My Warrior is going to feel SO SLOW once Remix is over. It's gonna be one hell of a shock.
Which kinda sucks because I’m super against the EA but my purchase doesn’t reflect that.
why not keep the remix cloak? it may be disabled like legendary items.
Im in Beta , and there are a TON of issues right now , like constant dcs and broken quests. i have no doubt it will be fixed , but Beta is unplayable as of now.
Also 4 days for wiggle room because of crazy time-zone differences?
Hm. The affixes being targeted by fire/frost and shadow/holy are SO prefering specific classes. I mean mages get an insta invite anyhow. Now it will be like: You CANNOT not take a mage to a M+ (they will literally melt the thrash away in higher keys). That means: druids, monks, warlocks etc. can go home.
thanks for the video! hope your doin' good! ❤👍
I thought they did early access for pre-orders before? I did not think this was new.
They have never done early access before. Diablo had early access.
As someone who’s going to miss probably 4 days right after launch the early access means I won’t really be behind
I wish they buffed Thread gain, instead of just Spools.. limits how impactful non-Spool gain is. Now looting bosses feels underwhelming.
Those 4 new affixes are gonna have weeks where specific trash is going to be brutal i can predict it now.
Anytime casters have increased haste the party is always in for a bad time
When can we expect a NPC for solo lfr?
Between play WoW: War Within and play GW2: Janthir Wilds. I think will be the first time I gonna play GW2.
great vid as always!!!!!
If you don't think you get ahead in gold making, like REALLY ahead, with the 4 days, then I don't know what to say. Estimating that enough gold would be made to cover the expenses of that edition that gives EA and then some.
But there will be a much smaller number of players to spend the gold.
What would you recommend to make the most money? New player
@@jediping No, because everyone else is still able to access the AH and buy things regardless.
NO you don't because you don't have access to the AH as that is blocked until release.
@@Avo7977Farming herbs, ore, leather to sell when the rest of the people are allowed to join in the new expansion and start leveling their professions.
If they were going to do EA at all they shouldve just given it to anyone who pre-orders.
I bought the epic edition for the other goodies, not EA. Kind of wish Blizz hadn't used it as a cash grab.
Do emojis count as comments?
didnt they say that you wouldnt be able to get xp on early acess ? i hope they keep they word on that and that people will not be able to gather materials too or that would be pay 2 win af
My biggest fear about early release is that when you log in there are glitches or experience mega lag.
Blizz created an artificial cost point. It doesn't cost them anything to split the launch date, its just a shameless money grab.
