chynakissz i know addict people too and i've witnessed their whole process, i have seen their recover and i learned that every recovery it’s different for everyone. courtney it’s a nichiren buddhist such as i and i know that through daimoku she has healed. she is a resilient person and she doesn’t deserve to be judged because of her way to express herself. we are all different.
Whether people love her or hate her, she’s definitely an icon. I’m seeing all types of young girls running around my city dressed like 1993 Courtney Love & it’s a testament to her impact on style. These girls got the tattered dresses, messy hair, smeared makeup & everything. We’re talking nearly 30 years ago & her trend is coming back around. Again, you don’t have to like her but you can’t really deny her place in the pop culture lexicon.

I’m so glad that Courtney is being honored for the legend and icon she truly is. She is so underrated as a musician. People seem to bypass the fact that she made three of the ‘90’s greatest alternative albums, and that she’s continually growing as an artist and releasing amazing music. Not to mention that she is a highly skilled actress with so many great performances under her belt. Courtney Love is a definite icon. She looks beautiful and I wish her the best in her sobriety.

I'm sure the SPD who initially botched the investigation in the first place, were going to take a fair and unbiased approach when they re-opened the case. Naturally, they went with their first ruling. As they didn't want to look incompetent.

Live Through This, for me, and I'm sure MANY others is THE GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME by anybody! It represented the totality of existence in that moment which rings just as true today. Artists are just different, and while people makes judgements, and assume whatever, in the end the art will tell the real story. You can't have the emotional complexity, angst, and rage of the greatest album of all time without a person who is all of those things to begin with. Courtney is vastly more complex than anybody will ever understand. Just stop judging what you have no ability to understand, no matter what her condition, she will still kick your ass! Believe that!

her music was always overshadowed by the bad press. almost thirty years after cobains death she still has to deal with these stupid kids that believed that he was killed. I love HOLE, specially in the 90 ´s they were sooo much cooler compared to all these pearl jams and foo fighters and the rest of the boys club. Live through this and Celebrity skin are one of the best damn records of all time. She was amazing in Miloš Formans movies, she always has a style, sence for good poetry and high fashion. She has survived addiction on drugs, now is sober for 18 months. I have my own personal experience with drinking and its fucking hard to stop. Just yesterday i was reading her book Dirty blonde...well, its more like a scrapbook, but its fascinating. She has a lot to say in her very special way. Shes not for everyody, but after almost 40 years in bussines, its time to honored her. congratz court
i totally agree..minus the celebrity skin part. after reading patti schemels autobiography (hit so hard..totally recommend it if you haven't read it!) i learned that patti didn't even play on celebrity skin, plus it confirmed my suspicion that they had some shit LA super cheeze-dick pop producer on it who made the record sound way too compressed, pop, and radio. the essence of hole was gone and their true sound was not present on that album whatsoever! anyway, didn't really mean to rant there, i came to agree that yes, she is definitely an idol and they were cooler than the stupid boys club. ya!
