My favorite Molly Shannon SNL sketch was the episode of "licensed joyologist" Helen Madden where she had Lyle Lovett as a guest! Wishing NBC/SNL would post more of the classic sketches, since that one is the best joyologist sketch ever!

Molly appears so kind on screen. I was touched by how she performed for herself first and foremost, then Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon. Being around goofy men who promote comedy is such a vibe. Speaking of vibes, Chloe F. demonstrates great potential. Her years of hard work seem to have translated into grounded experience that is shining through the screen.
She suffered the loss of her mother and baby sister when she was a young child. They died in a car accident. I think such tragedies early in life can lead to precocious empathy and kindness. I love her.

Random….. but a handful of a years ago during SXSW, my lady worked a booth at the trade show…so I hungout at Four Seasons and kept an eye out for actors and artists haha Anyways, Molly Shannon was there and walking with a Four Seasons employee that was taking her to her room and she was so overly sweet and awesome to the hotel lady, that it blew me away. Out of this world friendly to her

I looooved that movie! I had the movie poster hing up in my room. I would go around asking people random questions and then going "Don't worry about it, don't worry about it!"
I lived without a TV from 1994 to 2003 so I was largely unfamiliar with Molly and her characters, but I loved her on Saturday's show. When she did the Jeannie Darcy bit I initially thought she was trying do an impression of Tig Notaro, but then realized this was probably one of the characters she did "back in the day" and died over "Don't EVEN get me started"😂

Molly Shannon is one of the best!! She and Kristen Wiig are two of my all time favorite SNL ladies 🥰 Molly and Will Ferrell had a skit called Dog Show and it was killer! They only did the skit a few times but it was AMAZING Not a lot of people know what I'm talking about when I mention it, lol
The story about the media training would've made a hilarious skit either on SnL or on this show. And have actual celebrities in the skits.

Molly was on HOWARD STERN about a year ago and even though she is one of my all time favorite SNL cast members I never knew how truly sweet she was. And the Life she had would give her excuse to be not a nice person. My whole opinion went up even more, because when someone is that nice going through the ShowBiz World that says a lot!! Love her!!!

I've always wondered: characters created on SNL, are they "property" of the show or can the actors do them after they leave? Anyone know? I've always loved Molly, and enjoyed her on Will & Grace a lot.
I used to work at a Starbucks in the meat packing district in Manhattan and Molly Shannon used to come in all the time with her Jamaican nanny that never said a word. She just had a baby at the time and she used to get a large cappuccino. We used to have actual conversations and she invited me to lunch one day. It was a vegetarian restaurant and we had a really good and long conversation. She was very personable and approachable. She's one of the most down to earth celebrities i have met. I saw her again a couple years later at the village Halloween parade and she actually remembered my name and everything. So i have a special little place in my heart for Molly Shannon.
