We have in our minds a preconception of her as this bad, bad, villainous person, and that affects her a lot, I guess. It's hard to shake a stigma, especially one that is as heavy as that which has surrounded her personality for so long. She can't beat us, so she just joins us and acts the way we want her to or expect her to, not exactly in a conscious way on her part; more like an acquired response or habit.
