- Yep, this is an RTR radio, not the type of thing we ordinarily test. But these range in cost from cheap to free, so why not take a look at it?
This is the Quickview of the Vanquish VT-1 transmitter and VR-1 receiver combo. Which I mean, you gotta use together.

Great video on the radio. I don't know if you remember the timing of me getting a hold of you but I couldn't get rid of that radio fast enough. Happy it arrived in working order.
The nice thing with these Turbo Racing radios, other than being cheap, is being able to take off the handle. Makes it a lot easier to put in a backpack or the like, and takes up less space.
I think it has a quality feel and works with my AGFRC specific edition servos.
I would have never thought really about the spring tension of the thumb knob I do know it sucks someone with very muscle-bound thicker hands for me to be able to reach stuff like my hand is super thick right there by thumb be able to reach the thumb will can be a pain in the ass sometimes
I love my vanquish electronics combo in the 10 pro, what little testing I've done with it seems to be a good fit, I think for my parts bin truck it would be a better option controller wise because it's just built with extras but I'm considering putting those parts in a wraith 1.9.
I've been using an SLT3 for ages for my Sendero 😂. I ditched the GT5 for it because my Sendero has a winch, and f--orget trying to use a fast winch on a 3-position switch. You can actually set end points on the SLT3 and the thumb toggle on the grip is perfect for winching. Honestly I'm glad to learn the RTR VP radio is pretty good! Even having digital trim is nice because I throw my TQi radio in a backpack and my TRX4 is doing circles because steering trim got knocked silly in the bag
That’s an interesting servo conundrum there 🤷🏻♂️. Literally like a typewriter lol
I liked it. 👍 you can’t please them all, more than likely they will still com back. Great work Mr. Canyon
Not a bad looking radio. Nice to see an RTR come with something that can be used. Not sure if I'll try one since you now have me hooked on the Radiolink RC4GS!
The RC4GS sets the bar for cheap radio SUPER high. It has all the features that were only in $300+ radios of a decade ago.
Good evening canyon crew !
Didn't Josh say it was a Turbo Racing transmitter when talking about it on the Pheonix RTR launch on the livestream with Matt?
Pretty sure that's one of the higher end Turbo Racing ones. I have a few of the simpler ones, and they work great.
I was just thinking this very thing. A have a bunch of the turbo racing cars but only with the stock radios.
@@Br0rB I'm not saying they're bad, just that remember Matt asking about it and Josh saying where they sourced it if I remember correctly.
@@Cheshy68sounds right to me and what u heard from live
It is a Turbo racing handset
Interesting that the servo isnt happy with the VT-1 but works on the RC4, The RC4 wouldnt be any more precise than the VT-1 as the RC4 will be 14ms and 2048 resolution, no idea on the VT-1 but shouldnt be any lower.
Turbo Racing P32, they are $30 haha. I like my Vanquish transmitter enough I got more receivers.
The VT-1 is good enough that it has me thinking about a project build of "the cheapest crawler you can build that doesn't suck."
@@CrawlerCanyon I did that for my class 3 crawler, cheapest 4way steer rig I could put together, I even dug into the septic depths of AliExpress and had some scores 🤣👍
😅
Wagwan Mr Canyon, av you ever thought about doing a live stream...............could be interesting 🤔
That could be so cool 🎉🎉
❤Awesomeness
how much voltage can the receiver take?
The VR-1 appears to be a re-labeled Turbo RC R41, but there's no specs on the internet anywhere about that either. Most ESCs put out up to 8.4V now and that's never been a problem with the Vanquish radio. Even the cheaper receivers from other brands are good with up to at least a10V input, and many up to 12V. If you do go above it, it's not that expensive an experiment, as the retail on the VR-1 is about 14 bucks.
@CrawlerCanyon been using that radio with my 3 rigs.. but using only 7.4v, i thought that's the maximum voltage. Now i can turn the voltage to 8.4v thanks to you man 🍻
How do you put the batteries in it?!
There's a little lever at the back that release the whole grip. Battery door is at the top of the grip.
@@CrawlerCanyon life saver. I almost took it apart screw by screw 😂
Digital or analog servo ?
Are people still doing analog servos? A20s are definitely digital, and I've never had a problem. The JX 4409MG that does dig for the Colonel is also digital. That radio just DID NOT like those A20s.
I’m working on the 1.9 bead lock steering wheel now 😂
I printed a 1.0 bead lock steering wheel mount for my scx24 controller before. It was the right size, it I didn’t think to add a wheel weight to it.
Wow...interesting🙄 ..and that is relevant to the clip?
@@themountain59 did you watch the video?
I designed and printed one and then I looked it up and found out they were already freely available to print.
