Johnny also helped Naked Snake quite a lot during Portable Ops events, he's the first soldier he and Campbell recruit (I'm currently replaying it so it's fresh in my mind)

It's always been weird to me that Meryl ends up marrying Johnny, but can you imagine a universe where Emma survives and ends up marrying him instead somehow? I don't know why I randomly thought about that, but the idea of this genius marrying the poop gag guy and they both help save the world feels like it could fit in the same situation. And now I'm making myself sad thinking about her possible interactions with Sunny.
I think Meryl and Johnny is a case of opposites attract, but I'd never thought about him and Emma!! They would have been so cute together!! Maybe she could have helped Johnny through a doctor's visit so he could get his IBS under control haha
I absolutely adore the story of Johnny. A three-game-spanning meme becomes one of the key heroes of MGS4 and it couldn’t come in a more charming or adorkable package. He was definitely the comedic relief of MGS4, but he was also a crucial part of keeping the mood light at all the right narrative points.
Grandpa Johnny was also a semi Important in the original portable ops but he is sadly killed pretty late into the game

@@luffiewebster I think they did Johnny dirty though if I’m honest. I think, after such incompetence over so many years, it wouldn’t have hurt for them to write his character as suspicious of nanomachines & the system as a whole, so much so he was willing to forgo the abilities they provided, rather than ‘I just hate needles’
I think it would have rounded off his character better & even left the player with a little more respect for him.

Well Johnny is only in more games than solid snake if u count his grandpa. That’s two different characters. Why not combine BB and Solid Snake since they’re both Snake?

Also, it's been fun playing with this lore. I've been working on a MGS2 spoof radio play story using AI voices and Johnny plays a pretty important role in the first act. Was so much fun searching online for pooping noises, lol

kojima probably set up Johnny to be the next main character if there is going to be any game that take place after MGS4 since only Johnny and Meryl are still in the military life while pretty much all other character retired after MGS4..

@@luffiewebster if it's made by Kojima, yes i would since i think only him could make Johnny work as a main character, especially incorporate his stomach problem into gameplay.
after all Kojima did made a game that base entirely around fetch quest and it's fun to play..
Honestly can't even be mad at Johnny I know a lot of people found the overall joke a bit dumb to me personally I never got tired of it, It was always funny. Him and Meryl getting together is a bit of an odd choice but whatever I love all the silly stuff in the entire Metal Gear series.
