Theres no way Saints row is ever coming back from this reboot in terms of dlc. We all know what the direction for these dlcs are gonna go. This is truly the most tragic thing to ever happen to saints row. I miss the days when saints row was Actually almost deemed a Competitor to GTA. Sad times. 😔
What baffles me is the removal of voice lines. Do you really need every single reviewer to point out they're cringe when there's a ton of comments about the cringe writing months before release? Removing the jokes that don't work at all wouldn't save the game, but maybe could make the cast more likable or at least less despicable.
9:32 I fell like the only defense of this is that Volition listened to some complaints and decided to lean in to the idea of Kev being the Shaundi of the gang (I know a guy, but don't ask why). The only problem: I can't recall a moment where Shaundi's "I know a guy" moment actively cuts fun content.
It doesnt work for me because Shaundi in SR2 was just the better version of that character. Kevin feels like a younger, more obnoxious rip off. Shaundi was also at least established as to have a lot of friends because she is a drug dealer, and stoner who hangs out at colleges, frat houses, trap houses, etc. Why does Kevin have these connections? Don't know. And he just acts so corny, like another one of their attempts at making an influencer kid character who is always happy all the time, and thinks hes cool but he's not. SR2 Shaundi was the alredy chill-sounding Eliza Dushku. Kevin is like a younger sounding Gat with Shaundi's character role.
This DLC lowkey reaffirmed that the volition never understood what the fans really wanted and continued to push the identity of saints row being just randomness all the time instead of the og games and even 3 to some degree blend of random, serious, and touching moments.
Even 4 had serious moments. Remember Shaundi's simulation where she's holdng Johnny's corpse, crying because she couldn't save him? I miss when Volition actually tried.

When it comes to Johnny's death, I think the Boss should have been hit the hardest, but sadly Volition didn't go in that direction. SR3 and 4 aren't bad games, but they surely wasted all of the potential their stories had to offer.

11:03 isn’t even a Guardian Angel segment. it’s a Heli Assault segment. the guardian angel line bothers me way more than it should. honestly, instead of three embarrassingly minuscule “expansions” they should’ve just put their effort into one big story expansion that has a new and improved story to play through along with a few more activities/ventures. the game doesn’t need new districts especially when they’re as hollow and lifeless as Sunshine Springs. utilize more of Santo Ileso. give the base map more life and depth instead.
Great work as always the love you give to the Saints Row series is what the developers should strive to have again and deliberately make good games (or maybe they lucked out a few times and just took a dive in the ability to afterwards)!
No they know they exist, they just hate them because a team member made it clear doing this Reboot gives them more freedom because they're not restricted from those games.

Saint row 2 was the best and should of took that same formula in number 3. 3 was okay but it got too wacky and boss character isn't as ruthless. On top open world was amazing, the story and the customization with crib and adding logo on clothing was awesome in sr2. The game had equal. Wacky with street gang vibe.
Well, even with the updates, and admittedly they’re… ok (they make the game go from a 3 to a 3.5 at best…), the only real thing I can say is that the more I see, the more I realize we’re not the players/consumers anymore. We’re the test audience, but instead of getting paid to play the game for quality assurance, we’re paying to play and report our experiences through social media…

I think that a big problem is that saints row has always been a sort of arcade variant of the gta genre and it worked because we lived the characters and stories connected to them and the arcade system worked along side this aspects. Now all we have is a broken variant of that arcade system with characters we hate and a bad story.
SR2 had a dark and gritty story, amazing characters, and yet it still had those fun arcade elements that just added on to it's greatness (Zombie Arcade Game, Hitman, fight club, Spraying Shit everywhere, etc). SR2 is a very enjoyable game with a great story. SR3 had a lesser version of that, and sr4 was more like a large and fun dlc more than anything (SR4 and Gat out of Hell should be large expansions for SR3, would've tied everything off). Anyways, SR the reboot had NONE of that, from it's horrible story, it's unfun gameplay, and bland characters. Only a remake (No changes to dialogue or story or the style) of SR2 would be able to have a chance of bringing the series, but even that would be slim.
That is one of the reasons why I enjoy SR more than GTA. I don't mind cover shooters but I definitely prefer more arcadey run 'n gun gameplay. Even this game, despite it's obvious flaws, was more fun to play than GTA V.
This mission dlc made me realize Volition must have been running out of ideas (well anything they could do that wasnt related to actually being a gangster) because this dlc feels like the 5th time we had to do something like this. SR1 you had to pose as Vice Kings to frame them to the police (logical), SR2 had to pretend to be mechanics to hack into the police street cams, which made sense again. SRTT had you pretend you're Nyteblayde or something to kidnap an actor (when it actually had relevance in the plot to do that), to then pretending to be Cyrus (a mission that was actually funny) to doing this again pretending to being some generic actor guy I couldn't care less about and expected him to be a dick to you. Seriously though. Volition's mission plots are getting pretty repetive and seem to lose purpose each time they rehash them.
Imagine just having the Boss call all their Homies after being thrown out the Mansion and just going in Gun Blasting with some sick Music. Could´ve made something like in that one Saints Row 3 Mission. And then maybe because they were causing so much damage the whole Police would be after the Boss and Gang having us escape from the cops with maybe even that Chris Guy following us in a Helicopter he probably had somewhere. Then make the Getaway Car and the Heli something new the Player could´ve unlocked afterwards. Idk might just be an idea.

I wish they would just give us what we want, the Saints Row 2 PC patch. That is going to be a dream when/if that is still coming. I really hope so still, though it has been years since it was first announced. Also a pipe dream but what if alongside the patch they gave us the Saints Row 2 Source Code. The game is old enough at this point that it wouldn't be a big deal to Volition as open world game development has changed so much over the years.
Since the reboot failed so bad. I want to give you a detailed idea for SR3 Remake. I made this all just for your viewership and would love your opinion. Maybe in a video? So here goes nothing: New Arcade Games Tank Tetris from the virtual reality mission but now can be played in every crib. Saints of Rage NEEDS to be in every crib and fully replayable Merged radio stations Will merge all the songs together, Mr Sunshine rules the raegge station proving hes still not dead, along with a new Monica Hughes Podcast talk show talking in huge length of the events of the past two games and fills the gaps between 2 and 3. Starts the game off with her podcast about the beginning of the game and everytime she appears in a story mission adds a whole new podcast on this station all about it. Lots of Cyrus Temple foreshadowing here as he appears alot in the new podcasts before his STAG arc introduction. There will be many new recorded ads, Many Johnny Gat Supporting Stilwater ads, Johnny Gat ads for Planet Zin from his own comic book. Lots of reused ads for On the Rags, Branded etc. Mr Sunshine on his station will have Haitian ads for his own island etc. New interiors - you can now go inside the airport to find another Rusty Needles and Let's Pretend -borrowing from Cyberpunk there is a huge cave system under Loren square where you can fight vampires - The Mall is the centerpiece of the Dewintwr sisters district. Has every store in the game and is huge -Safeword is a permanent enterable building -Every Gothic Cathedrals -There are more unique bars and diners downtown -alot of sex shops downtown and In the Dewinters District are huge and fully explorable -The back room of every Let's Pretend -The New Science Museum -Syndicate Secret halls - The Huge Steel mill cut from the original game, fully explorable -Gangstas in Space Movie set from the DLC, huge interior fully explorable -Every other building you enter in missions New stores -Impressions now found at wealthy points of the city - Planet Zin, an off shoot of Planet Saints from Johnnys Comic book series about the Zin take over, found in Luchadores terf. Quite a few stores -Ultor Corporation, new weapon store to sell all the exotic weapons from SRIV as well as more awesome and diverse melee weapons -On The Rags, The clothes in this store are quite different, just a bunch of other clothes but covered in blood, atleast 2 locations -Branded returns in quite a few locations - Leather and Lace has quite a few more store Locations -Nobody Loves me is open in way more places as well -Planet Saints will now only have REAL saints Wear in stock, whether it's styled from the the gangs Ped wear from SR1 and 2 or clothes that were only in the first two, the other clothes are given to Branded -Sex Sells, only in the Dewintwr sisters terf will sell all the Dildo bat variants as different weapons, quite a few stores -in the alley you land in, is a new "Newds" store where you can buy new Censor bars. 👾🗽🖤🔥👽🔱🍓👄🍑🌻🐍 --New activities Crowd Control Derpy Wrestling (just like the wrestling mission, all the takedowns and shoulder riding should be in the activity) Removal of Guardian Angel and Tiger escort for story importance -Avenger (now with a bunch of different variants) -Fan Service, a new activity where you have to protect Saints to their business arrangements and meet and greets at Planet Saints, kill enemy gangs at these events with activity-unique takedowns -Demolition Derby locations CIDs Simulator (basically SRIV type stuff where you get to meet CID but only within the activity) -Monster Truck Rallies, new version of demolition but inspired by Maero, much more Monster Truck, and reintroduces the vehicles to the game Trail blazing is definitely trail blazing while Cyber Blazing is Definitely a different activity -Fight Club
Don’t forget that in the face scan mission if ur fov is too high literally the camera won’t automatically adjust to its own fov, meaning the face scan will never happen and the mission will fail unless u change the fov to the number the camera can reach Chris
I actually got really far in that game... then it said that I'd have to play on a higher difficulty to fight the final boss... I had it on normal... needless to say, I traded it in at a game store after that.
I have been playing the originals titles saints row 1&2, I still have a blast, one of the best purchases I done this year is getting the xbox 360 slim for, the nostalgia hits hard mane they will always be timeless classics
I for some reason decided to buy the game last week, jaded is all I can say about my experience and after actually playing it, I can not wait for July and be even more sad than I am towards the series.
I bought it day 1 and tried to rationalise to myself it was a mediocre game for a few days but then you slowly realise it is just bad cyberpunk day 1 levels of bad no no cyberpunk at least had enjoyable characters and story so it is even worse than cyberpunk day 1 release.

something that I noticed that was a major downside to the game is mechanics is the camera whenever I push up on my camera stick it likes to go in different directions than it normally would be. It’s not just a straight line.
The killed the franchise. Saints Row should have never listened to those dudes saying that they were a GTA clone, that's what started the whole "oh hey, Saints Row is wacky and crazy!" Instead of the gangster game we loved back in 1 & 2. Now we got this shit and given how bad it was received, we'll probably never get another game again (which is fine if they were planning on keeping with this shitty humor, story and gameplay)

I thought the DLC was pretty average. Nothing special. Not terrible, I didn’t feel bad about spending ten dollars on it, and the heist and activities were pretty fun. I liked the first mission too, it was a good way to get back in the swing of things after not playing the game since 100%ing it a few months ago. The second one was the only one that was kinda lacking for me, it just wasn’t all that fun, and didn’t really have any real gameplay. The idea of stealing from Marshall instead would have definitely been better, and I’m not sure why they didn’t go with that. Overall I have no major complaints outside of that. This was a pretty fair review, instead of just straight up bashing, so it was nice to watch even as a fan of the reboot.
Same here 😌👍I think this DLC overall was pretty good the only mission I didn't like was the second one the first and third were both great especially the third one. Plus I love the new HQ. I can't wait to see what the next DLC, and update bring especially since they are adding cheat codes to the game.

I'm trying to play Watch Dogs Legion, this is my third try. I wasn't able to play Saints Row without putting it down after a few hours. Still to this day nothing beats Watch Dogs 2 for me, such an underrated game.

Was hoping the heist was similar to a GTA Online one, but more linear. Should've had us grabbing each bit of gear.
Saints row 2 boss would have just skipped the heist all together and just slaughtered everyone for just being kicked out.

SR2 is a very enjoyable game with a great story. SR3 had a lesser version of that, and sr4 was more like a large and fun dlc more than anything (SR4 and Gat out of Hell should be large expansions for SR3, would've tied everything off).
Anyways, SR the reboot had NONE of that, from it's horrible story, it's unfun gameplay, and bland characters.
Only a remake (No changes to dialogue or story or the style) of SR2 would be able to have a chance of bringing the series, but even that would be slim.
That is one of the reasons why I enjoy SR more than GTA.
I don't mind cover shooters but I definitely prefer more arcadey run 'n gun gameplay. Even this game, despite it's obvious flaws, was more fun to play than GTA V.
This mission dlc made me realize Volition must have been running out of ideas (well anything they could do that wasnt related to actually being a gangster) because this dlc feels like the 5th time we had to do something like this. SR1 you had to pose as Vice Kings to frame them to the police (logical), SR2 had to pretend to be mechanics to hack into the police street cams, which made sense again. SRTT had you pretend you're Nyteblayde or something to kidnap an actor (when it actually had relevance in the plot to do that), to then pretending to be Cyrus (a mission that was actually funny) to doing this again pretending to being some generic actor guy I couldn't care less about and expected him to be a dick to you. Seriously though. Volition's mission plots are getting pretty repetive and seem to lose purpose each time they rehash them.
Imagine just having the Boss call all their Homies after being thrown out the Mansion and just going in Gun Blasting with some sick Music. Could´ve made something like in that one Saints Row 3 Mission.
And then maybe because they were causing so much damage the whole Police would be after the Boss and Gang having us escape from the cops with maybe even that Chris Guy following us in a Helicopter he probably had somewhere.
Then make the Getaway Car and the Heli something new the Player could´ve unlocked afterwards.
Idk might just be an idea.

I wish they would just give us what we want, the Saints Row 2 PC patch. That is going to be a dream when/if that is still coming. I really hope so still, though it has been years since it was first announced. Also a pipe dream but what if alongside the patch they gave us the Saints Row 2 Source Code. The game is old enough at this point that it wouldn't be a big deal to Volition as open world game development has changed so much over the years.

Tank Tetris from the virtual reality mission but now can be played in every crib.
Saints of Rage NEEDS to be in every crib and fully replayable
Merged radio stations
Will merge all the songs together, Mr Sunshine rules the raegge station proving hes still not dead, along with a new Monica Hughes Podcast talk show talking in huge length of the events of the past two games and fills the gaps between 2 and 3. Starts the game off with her podcast about the beginning of the game and everytime she appears in a story mission adds a whole new podcast on this station all about it. Lots of Cyrus Temple foreshadowing here as he appears alot in the new podcasts before his STAG arc introduction. There will be many new recorded ads, Many Johnny Gat Supporting Stilwater ads, Johnny Gat ads for Planet Zin from his own comic book. Lots of reused ads for On the Rags, Branded etc. Mr Sunshine on his station will have Haitian ads for his own island etc.

- you can now go inside the airport to find another Rusty Needles and Let's Pretend
-borrowing from Cyberpunk there is a huge cave system under Loren square where you can fight vampires

-Gangstas in Space Movie set from the DLC, huge interior fully explorable
-Every other building you enter in missions
New stores
-Impressions now found at wealthy points of the city
- Planet Zin, an off shoot of Planet Saints from Johnnys Comic book series about the Zin take over, found in Luchadores terf. Quite a few stores
-Ultor Corporation, new weapon store to sell all the exotic weapons from SRIV as well as more awesome and diverse melee weapons
-On The Rags, The clothes in this store are quite different, just a bunch of other clothes but covered in blood, atleast 2 locations
-Branded returns in quite a few locations
- Leather and Lace has quite a few more store Locations
-Nobody Loves me is open in way more places as well
-Planet Saints will now only have REAL saints Wear in stock, whether it's styled from the the gangs Ped wear from SR1 and 2 or clothes that were only in the first two, the other clothes are given to Branded

Don’t forget that in the face scan mission if ur fov is too high literally the camera won’t automatically adjust to its own fov, meaning the face scan will never happen and the mission will fail unless u change the fov to the number the camera can reach Chris

I for some reason decided to buy the game last week, jaded is all I can say about my experience and after actually playing it, I can not wait for July and be even more sad than I am towards the series.

I bought it day 1 and tried to rationalise to myself it was a mediocre game for a few days but then you slowly realise it is just bad cyberpunk day 1 levels of bad no no cyberpunk at least had enjoyable characters and story so it is even worse than cyberpunk day 1 release.

O_O, But the DLC's look as just as bad i love Saints Row Series but this one.. I'm struggling to get into, My ex played it all the way through and haven't touched the game since maybe I will go back and do the DLC's to complete it, But my favourite Saints Row series was Saints Row 2 and SR3

something that I noticed that was a major downside to the game is mechanics is the camera whenever I push up on my camera stick it likes to go in different directions than it normally would be. It’s not just a straight line.

The killed the franchise. Saints Row should have never listened to those dudes saying that they were a GTA clone, that's what started the whole "oh hey, Saints Row is wacky and crazy!" Instead of the gangster game we loved back in 1 & 2. Now we got this shit and given how bad it was received, we'll probably never get another game again (which is fine if they were planning on keeping with this shitty humor, story and gameplay)

i think you forgot to mention the bug (i have no clue if it's fixed) in the scanning mission, which is somehow tied to the FOV slider.
I thought the DLC was pretty average. Nothing special. Not terrible, I didn’t feel bad about spending ten dollars on it, and the heist and activities were pretty fun.
I liked the first mission too, it was a good way to get back in the swing of things after not playing the game since 100%ing it a few months ago. The second one was the only one that was kinda lacking for me, it just wasn’t all that fun, and didn’t really have any real gameplay. The idea of stealing from Marshall instead would have definitely been better, and I’m not sure why they didn’t go with that.
Overall I have no major complaints outside of that. This was a pretty fair review, instead of just straight up bashing, so it was nice to watch even as a fan of the reboot.
Same here 😌👍I think this DLC overall was pretty good the only mission I didn't like was the second one the first and third were both great especially the third one. Plus I love the new HQ. I can't wait to see what the next DLC, and update bring especially since they are adding cheat codes to the game.

Mr. Saints Godzilla I always wondered is there any way to glitch multiple shirts on one outfit what I mean is in Saints Row 2 you know how there's layered clothing but I've wondered is there any glitch that allows a player to wear two of the same layer clothing like say for instance a long sleeve shirt but wear a short-sleeve shirt in the same overshirt category
Volition have no one to blame but themselves for this mess and trash game, this isnt what anyone wanted and everyone tried to tell them and their behaviour throughout the release of the game was disgusting, its ridiculous its gotten this bad for saints row and the gaming industry as a whole, these dlcs wont save the game and i feel they're only being made because of the season pass problem because of Consumer laws in some states like Australia (where they can get in big shit for lying to consumers if they don't make anything for the season pass) but that's just my guess, overall good video dude its nice to see your still around after everything thats happened because of Volitions toxic behaviour

I'm trying to play Watch Dogs Legion, this is my third try. I wasn't able to play Saints Row without putting it down after a few hours. Still to this day nothing beats Watch Dogs 2 for me, such an underrated game.
