Having a brand new water connection seems so much better than adapting an old one. I know you are going to LOVE having running water!
half the chateau got running water when it rains
@@t84t748748t6
😂😂😂😂
They don’t want to have to dig up the driveway if they don’t have to.
@@t84t748748t6 LOL, smart ass!
Awesome 6:03 6:18 6:18 6:20
Getting water (and power) will be huge. Feels like the building is starting to come alive again.
Hi Dan and Nick from Tasmania, the plants will love a little bit of rain, love every new vlog, it is so exciting watching this amazing journey.❤️🙏👏👏👏👏👏
I've been looking for this! This chateau renovation is the best on TH-cam imho. The gardens are going to be gorgeous! I'm appreciating improved safety efforts like the stair railing. Who doesn't love Nick and crew? Dan has to be the hardest working man in. France!
I am really pleased about the stair rails and toe guards. It will make huge difference for visits by possible sponsors, building control, TV and the media. I think that now there is some progress to see this rennovation will get covered by mainstream media as well!
@@PreservationEnthusiast During the live stream last week he mentioned getting a lot of messages from people meddling with his private life or offering to be volunteers and there's fans hanging around the chateau. People can be crazy. I'm afraid this project might get out of hand with even more media coverage.
@@PreservationEnthusiast British television has filmed there more than once already. Not being in England, I don't know what channel or program, but they've been at the chateau to film.
Having had Border Collies my whole life, I really do love seeing Anna so happy running around the place, and hunting for moths and voles just like my first dog. Elsa seems far more chilled out about it all.
At 1:03, I loved watching the tractor and cart driving down the driveway, with dog zooming joyfully alongside!
Yes they are beautiful doggies. I enjoy watching Anna too, she’s so inquisitive and loves the chance of a race down the driveway.
I miss our beloved BCs so much, but they lived long, happy lives.
They sure love going to that lake and taking a swim .
I just love watching Dan's dogs, they are so good, real dogs doing their dog things..I am so pleased to here you will eventually get some real water too..never a day goes by without a big change..
While Dan talked about how the chateau was expanding in "feel" with each floor completion, my thoughts went back to the weeks where he was staying at an AirBnB that he couldn't even stand up straight in, when he was technically homeless for a bit.
Yes, I remember that, too, lol. times have moved on. Hes such a cheeky chappy
😂 Not just one BnB, he was homeless at one time until he bought the Chateau and got the Yurt to live in. Dan has come a long way since SHE cheated on him and he had to leave the home he remodeled from scratch. That kitchen he built was beautiful! He even did a cooking show a couple of times in his remodeled kitchen and catered a few dinner parties at Chateau La Lande. I felt so bad for him, he even had to leave Stephanies Chateau! Well, our Dan has come a long way and has his own Chateau De Chamont that he will never have to leave.
Gosh, that seems like a lifetime ago now!
@@valeriejohnson5283 I do not know about his personal life and to be honest it is not really my business. I am just glad he is happy :)
@@valeriejohnson5283maybe don't post things you have no personal information about .. watching someone on yountube is in no way having any insight into someone life ..only videos that some one posts to a web site ....they can often times not represent what is actually going on in that person's life..unless you personally know that person any information you gain from TH-cam can be pure fantasy..
Imagine having running water, Dan! We take a lot for granted, don't we? Floors, floors, and more floors....the chateau is definitely evolving!❤
I know! I watch Make. Do. Grow. And they just got a toilet after 3 yrs and just recently hot water from the sink! No real bedroom and no hot indoor shower but they sure are moving up in the world with that toilet! 😂
Yayyy for a natural rain, I'm sure the plants are smiling...and wow does that finished floor look awesome...that high speed racing dog...too funny...!
His weather there sure has been like (sort of) the rain weather we’ve had in the PNW. Sunny earlier today and last few hrs here have been drenched. 🌧️🌧️
Good evening
A water supply should make a huge difference
Agree! There will also be a difference on his bills, because water is expensive in France
13,000 views in 19 minutes, I would say a lot of people wait for your uploads daily, ah yes I am one of those subscribers😂
It's highly entertaining ❤
🙋♀️
I love y'all ❣️
I watch it every morning during breakfast. I receive it in the evening. Very difficult not to watch at night. I hardly can wait.
It's apart of my lunch hour 😂
This was the most badly damaged chateau I'd ever seen when I first tuned in. I thought it would be 10 years before it would look like anything, but I was wrong. Dan, you are a miracle worker. I specially enjoyed every "noggin" you hammered in. I can hardly wait to see the finished roof. Keep up the hard work, it's really paying off for you at long last.
Now you know that you will have mains water, it may be the time to think about placing piping to allow for the installation of a fire sprinkler system. Nobody could bear the thought of the chateau catching fire again! Much easier to install the piping before everything is closed up.
You’re so lucky to have Nick working with you!
They say, 'April showers bring May flowers' I absolutely love watching each episode. Can not wait to see this Chateau completely restored to it's former glory.
I think this chateau will never be fully restored. It will be very beautiful and liveable but there will always be something that needs to be added or fixed. Dan signed up for a lifetime of labor.
From earliest like to 1.5 K likes in seconds. So well deserved. The whole channel is so addictive. Am I alone in having a positive buzz when Dan posts? I think not! 🎉🎉🎉
Still allot of lazy viewers, push the LIKE for heavens sake. Dan is working so hard.
Day is complete now
You know, that's the same way I feel, 😂 lol, peace ✌ out my friend, from Sacramento, California
Oh the joy of Dans Vlogs😘
Even though you'll have the water connection, I imagine you'll also put in a rain water recuperation system from your roof when you finish that. Not just because rain water is better for the garden but also for your things like the laundry and toilets, where drinking water is not required.
I agree. Nick could half bury a two story one. The amount of rain from this roof would fill it probably after 2 good rain events. It could be used for all sorts of projects, indoor or outdoor.
Agree! Good money saving because water is expensive in France.
This is just so exciting to see the whole chateau coming together, it is truly unreal how much progress has been made by one man and a small team. Incredible work guys, keep it up!!
I love that the dogs are free to run and are having a great dogs life ❤
Those dogs would be so bored in a normal quiet home! That must be such a relief to have rubble boards and water issues under your belt
Water connection will make it civilised for just daily living..less camping … all looking good..❤
And a bathtub???
And sewage?
Watching Nick work the digger is like watching a ballet!
Wow, never been this early to the party before. Yay, youre getting water😊
I know you always worry about if people are interested in planting instead of rebuilding. They are both fun to watch. The landscape is just as important as the building structure. Glad to see the running water is coming in the future. It has been a long time coming.
I LOVE the landscaping
By the time you’ve finished this rebuild Dan, you’ll be a Jack of all trades & a master of them all. You’re doing a smashing job here with the workshop & the help from Nick & company. You & your team are doing a cracking job.
Glad the water people came out and now have a plan, a NEW connector. The parking lot is going to be great for all your guests. Rain is always good too.
Dan this project must be life changing for you......
WOW prepping your beams is so much faster now with your new equipment. Good job !!!!
How great for Nick to play a big part of Dans journey
True.
Love seeing the dogs. Absolutely adorable.
Well Tony, what's gonna happen is that John and geophys will scan the area looking for interesting sites, where we can start digging trenches.
Then Phil is going to bad mouth John, and then Stuart is going to find the answer...
@@Kev-Marion 🤣😆🤣😆
😂😂 echoes of the time team.
Good to see the floors structure being completed. So much more can happen with a floor on which to stand. Stabilizing the tower and the arches, the walls, and of course, the roof! So glad you guys got this second bunch of plants in. Getting the garden going while you continue will grow to be inspiration when the hard bits come along now and then. Water will make a big difference in general moral, I bet!
Two of my very favorite channels… ERF and TT. Bravo to both!
You're probably going to want to add a retaining wall for your car park, that dirt is going to erode surprisingly fast if you get some good rain.
And it's going to settle quite a lot too.
I agree it looked as though there is a lot of soil, pure rubble would have been better, but I guess they'll just keep heaping it on as they go.
Don’t you think that we can take it for granted that they have a suitable solution for that, already planned.
Surely you are aware that Dan is an awesome gardener!!!
Plus ld say Nick was an expert in understanding how gravity works!!!
@@allymayful I'd prefer saying it and they already know, rather that I don't say it and they don't know.
Love the progress you are making! Look forward to your vlogs each day and when you aren’t going to post I look at the early vlogs. It is amazing how far you’ve come, even though there’s still a distance to go. As a 78 year old American Grandmother, I am so proud of you and what you are accomplishing. Your skills grow by the day!
I hope you get water soon, Dan. Shame the old connection wasn't still there.
Funny how each year pans out, last year you needed the drier weather to build the floors up; this year it's good that all the new planting is getting watered. Have to say l'd really like some sunnier, drier weather now...
Big Dan, once again you're moving at light speed, truly amazing how fast it's coming along, we'll see ya tomorrow
Dan, we are all loving your positive outlook daily!!!
So nice to see two Dans today!!! lol I'm so glad is helping you Dan. It is great that Nick is there with his digger! That is good news! So happy for you Dan. Thank goodness for Nick! Yes, that is good for the rain for your new plants. All the best!
The case of the missing water 💦
Who stole the water? None on the pipes, none in the well!😮
@patriciaarroni2142, it was probably César and Ugolin Soubeyran.
Dan, good to know about the hunt for the water connection not being there. Now you know where you stand and what to do next.
The parking area is really coming along nicely.
Great job on getting more flooring ready. It's so very exciting.
Cheers
The garden is going to love all the rain. ❤
It's Tuesday morning here in my part of the world and Dan's video was uploaded three hours ago. It's always a lovely, invigorating way to start my day with some Dan energy and humour. I'm glad you're going to be getting a new water connection rather than digging out an old one that might cause problems, and I'm especially loving that your hard work in the garden is being supported by some gentle April rain.
Excellent work, progress, and video! The Chateau is moving fast!
💕So pleased for you that everything is progressing smoothly & your plants are getting watered to save you time & effort💕
Absolutely loving how fast it is now to make up more joists with all the fancy power tools and water will be a very happy addition!
Amazing progress on the Chateau, Danling. And... you're nearly at 500,000 subscribers! Fantastic! Well done, and congratulations! 💗
Dan, Nick my men. Good water finally coming. The floors are in and the roof is coming. Great work, good job. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺😇🌹🙏🕊🌈🌞❤️🇺🇸👍
You and the Chateau deserve a brand new water connection Dan. You've toted heavy containers there and back during the worst part of reconstruction, now you need a break....running water!
I remember the buckets up n down his ladder.. Crikey, holding breath on that one.. 😱🌹
@@carolineslater1731 Me too!!!! Yikes!!!!!
I have had my Dan fix for the day. All is well with the world 😂❤❤❤
Awesome episode Dan, so much coming together and another roof coming soon. I’m sure the next roof will be quicker just like you have mastered the art of putting in floors. Amazing…. Andy UK
I keep seeing doubles of you Dan !! no wonder you are getting through this job so quickly.
Great! Glad it’s all going to plan. The garden look amazing 😊
Un-flippen-believable, what you’ve done! Onwards and upwards, ya heros! 👏💪❤️
Dan, you are an amazingly energetic man, like the Energizer Bunny. - You, plus Nick make a dynamic duo! Love watching the projects and progress made. Continued success.
I really like the natural rustic fencing you have put up, it really makes the place look like it's coming together with the plantings and the improved driveway, this place is going to be a total Gem when you are finished with her.
Hi Dan!🖐 Amazing they found the old water supply thingy with their electronic thingy. The genius of modern day technology. Saves a lot of work for you in the long run.🥂
I understood that they didn’t find the old water connection and will bring a new one.
Yes Good Morning Dan!Hoe excellente to find the LOST water tank..!! Brilliant episode. A 6:44 new connection would always have been the best option …last for another 200 years! Cant wait for that east roof!!
Old utility maps are notoriously inaccurate. Before retirement, I worked for a utility company in the states and we had to do that 'treasure hunt locating' all the time, even when we knew the pipe was there somewhere. Given that the mains in the past were probably cast iron, which has a max life span of 100 years under perfect conditions and probably went in between the Wars, they would be ready to be replaced soon even if you knew precisely where they were, so it's probably for the best to put in new at this point.
Yay for rain for the garden😊
There is Nothing more satisfying than rain falling down after the planting. I call it a benediction right from the sky. YOU ARE BLESS. you not only raise a chateau to its splendour you are bringing back a magnificent garden to life again working with nature, not against it. So yes Bravo to you and all those that help you, and thanks for the huge job you make of sharing this unique adventure with us❤❤❤
Well look at you with your posh clean workshop with all your nice new tools! How far you’ve come! What a total legend 🙌 onya Dan
Wow 10 seconds!!! Almost live!!! 😂❤❤❤❤.
It truly is amazing how quickly this part of the chateau is coming together.
Love them just showing up,heck yes!!!!!❤❤❤
Good morning guys, hello Nicky, you are looking good on that tractor dude.
Puppies are too cute helping the water people..
Such a massive amount of work you have achieved in a relatively short time. Keep it up, as I'm busting to see her in all her glory 😊❤
Everyone enjoys your videos! They are so quick lol enjoyed the editing! Looking forward to tomorrow's!
59,306 views in 2 hours, Dan! That's amazing!
Thank you for another great video Dan you and Nick making great progress should be happy with progress now you know working on water connections for your home ! Things are looking beautiful cannot wait to see the gardens in another month ! Have a great night ! 😀🌞
My heart jumps for joy every time i get your notifications ❤ just love seeing nick at the chateau hes a hard worker and good friend
Amazing to see you restore the "bones" of this chateau!! I look forward to the day you have it open for tours and detail this amazing effort to restore it. Wow, what an effort. I have been watching since day 1 and I cannot believe the progress.
Look at the pups following the guys in orange.. they probably knew all along where the water was located😂
I'm excited watching how fast things are moving, so can't Imagine how you all feel? The garden looks great!👍👍👍👍
Speaking from Perth where we have not had a drop of rain since September 2023 (now virtually May 2024 for future readers) and where hundred + years old jarrah and marri forests are dead and dying; enjoy the rain while you have it! 🇦🇺 Imagine being able to turn a tap on or flush a toilet, Dan! Woohoo!
Well… he has no sewage yet!
I havent been here the longest but your editing has been pretty good :D
Glad your spirits are high and accomplishing a lot! Everything looks awesome
Yes!!! Water soon to come!!! Looking great today, a place to park and another floor!! Exciting news!!!
Always nice to see your clone show up to help out. 😉😄
Good on Anna and Elsa helping the men looking for the old water connection. I’m pleased they take their job seriously. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Can't wait to see you doing the roof. Great job 👏
your running dog has the most IMMENSE fun ! ... such a hoot ! ❤
Love watching the progress ❤
Marvellous progress on all fronts, water, car park, flooring and future plans. Go team 😊
Incredible work, and I love watching the progress updates.
Love watching nick change the landscape 😊
And then there was rain. Just this once for the plants. The outside around the chateau is looking great.
Thanks for letting us latch on for the ride while you, the family and the guys push on with all the hurdles...its fascinating to watch and exciting to see each new accomplishment !! Best wishes and encouragement from a small town in Florida 🌄🙂😄
What amazing progress. I am inspired daily by your efforts, gentlemen.
Well done Dan and Nick. Keep up the great work.
Glad you will be getting water on the property soon. The chateau is coming along nicely ❤
I was so excited he wqs going to take the beams up the stairs... :( Also, when the water folks drove away it was a let down, was so hoping they would find the pipe... The roof!! OH so much anticipation for the coming days, and for the rain...!
Mr. Dan for those of us who love to do renovation projects and can only dream of taking on a massive project such as yours can only live vicariously through you, and be your cheerleaders, and supporters. Thank you for taking on such a massive, labor Intensive, mind stretching project and bring it life for all to see and enjoy, we are happy for you on your good days, and sad when you have bad or slow days. So just know that even though you excitement comes through and is absorbed by your followers, we also absorb, the disappointment you have as well. Keep doing what you are doing, and know we appreciate the opportunities we get to watch.
It is so cool the way you film yourself in tw places at one time👍🏻really good videos👏🏻
Glad to see how fast things are progressing!!! DAMN, having the right equipment and power in a relatively dry location to work makes A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE in terms of progress!!!! KEEP GOING DAN, time to get the roof on THAT SIDE up now!!!
Dan, you & your team are the hardest working YOU TUBERS out there .. ❤
I am so happy you are getting your well. And the plants are all
