This video is exactly what I needed to fix my fridge. The model shown is almost exactly the same as mine. I was able to order the fan motor on Amazon and made the repair in 15 minutes for about $23. Fortunately, I did not need a heat gun as my fridge was not iced up. Turns out the original motor had a crack down the middle of the housing that caused it to fail. Working perfectly now. Thanks so much for posting!

@@louielou2002 my Girlfriend's parents are having the same problem with their Frigidaire freezer.
Would you happen to remember the part number?

Thank you so very much for this video! With your help I have been able to fix my refrigerator! It looked scary but was actually easy! The hardest part was getting the cover off the ice maker attachment. The screw driver has to go on top of the lever in there to push down and remove it. My refrigerator started making a knocking noise a couple of months ago. It was random and not all the time. When I looked there was ice in the freezer which is not normal. I unplugged it and thawed it out. Then It seemed to be working but a few days ago I went to get something out of the refrigerator and it was not cold. The freezer then had started to form ice beads on the top with some frost on things and ice around the vents. I unplugged it and thawed it and cleaned all the coils and that did not work. Then I found your awesome video and ordered the new parts. It did not take long to install and it is now cooling again in both the freezer and refrigerator. When it was broken the freezer was cold but the refrigerator was not. I had called to hire a repair company but either no one responded or said it would be a month before they could come. This video really was so extremely helpful! I cannot thank you enough for your help!

@ I told my Dad that I actually enjoyed this. If I would have been introduced to fixing mechanical things when I was young, I might would have had a different career. I have always been great with very detailed things. Thanks again!

Great video and this helped out a lot as this was close to the same model as mine. I had to make due with a portable clothes steamer, but it got the job done with the ice build up in the channel down from the freezer to fridge. So far, so good and fingers crossed that the fan from Amazon will keep running. :)

Having the same type of problem at my apartments refrigerator looks exactly the same just different design, fan seams to be working fine but I’m having no cold air coming from the vent below. It looks to me maybe their is to much ice buildup on the back wall because I can see the two lower vents completely iced over I’m trouble shooting now by letting it thaw out over night, really hoping it can be fixed that way it’s the only thing I can think of. Any recommendations or do you think I’m making the right choice? Thanks 🙏
