Roomba I3 Review Mapping issue , Sensors, App

- Mapping issues very random. Hits itself real hard into furniture and walls. I hate the app. No simple button like CLEAN or CHARGE. You can't even find the map really.
Update: I would like to correct myself about the Wyze bot. The mapping is the best of all bots but the suction is about on par as the others but nothing that great. - บันเทิง

First.. enjoyed the video. Much appreciated. I'm not a fan of random bump and clean vacs. This one I got last month. At first I did a clean everywhere and it was kind of wonky. After I mapped it, set the room dividers it works like a charm. It'll clean the whole room or section before going to another one. I'll vary the order of rooms to clean and it will follow the order. I divided a large open section into 2 sections and it cleans along the parameters. They did an update in the summertime that now allows for smart mapping which was a key issue for me. Thanks again.

When you map, you need to set the dividers in the app. If set wrong it will act strange.
That's weird. If that is the case, it is the only vac I would had ever had to do that for. You shouldn't have to.
How did you get it to star working right. And how do you put dividers
Unfortunately everything I tried to get it to work was unsuccessful! So I ended up sending it back. So far I have owned about 8 different robovacs and the Wyze has had the best mapping.
Mine goes back forth between 25% of three rooms. If I'm lucky it can do my 1100sq ft house in 7hrs. My Lidar based units take a little over an hour.
My Deebot N8+ had Lidar and did the same thing but even worse! So far the Wyze mapped a 1,200 sq ft area in 5 min flat and the map looked real clean. Unlike the Deebot and Roomba the maps look distorted.
You have your cleaning Preferences set on room size cleaning, it will drive around until the battery‘s almost dead and do the room 2 to 3 times. If you set it on one pass or two passes then that’s what it will do. Try setting it on one pass and it will do it systematically once and go home
After giving it a week I gave up and returned it. Thanks for the info, it might help someone else.
Mine used to be great but then started acting dumb. I factory reset it and it got dumber. It started getting lost around its docking station with the blue light on, like it couldn’t find its home. Today I realized that my iRobot app offloaded from my iphone. I don’t know if that contributed to the stupidity? When I reinstalled I saw that they released an update for smart mapping! I’m so pump about that! I usually get so annoyed after it cleans all day and only does half the house. Now I’ll just tell it where to clean bc it can’t do it itself. I always have it on the one pass cleaning mode but it is constantly going over the same spots.
But I factory reset again and tried to create my first smart map and it cancelled after 2 hours…now what…
Wow crazy stuff. Yeah I wasn't as fortunate as you to have it working from the start. Yes I love being able to make it clean a certain room only also! I always make sure all my apps are updated regularly just for that reason. Strange it stopped working after 2 weeks though. So far my Wyze bot has been flawless from day one. it doesn't clean as good this did on carpet but for the most part it does pretty good and mapping is A1. Well good luck and I hope it starts working again for you.
I am re-mapping for the 4th time. It keeps getting lost, stops, has to be reset. Has yet to complete a mapped room completely. My old dumb Roomba did a better job.
@@jerryridings5396 You would think they would upgrade or get better as time goes on with technology and the name they uphold not go backwards!
Mine works perfect you have to map it. I love it!
I let it try and map 3 to 4 times and it never worked. Maybe some work and some don't.

this is not a problem issue. it has that because it doesn't have a top facing camera
There is that and also Lidar. Either way for the price there are much better bots.

Try the Wyze. It mapped my lower part of the house 1,400 sq ft in 5 or less minutes flat! I was impressed. Plus Wyze actually does updates all the time to make them better.
there is an i7 that is smart and does not have crooked lines and its not the same problem. you can go with the roomba 900 series that has a top facing camera.
at least it still cleans all of the floors

Totally agree!! Sending this to my husband!! He just doesn’t understand what this damn this does!! Stupid!!
Have him buy a simple old shark robot vacuum. He will save money and it will at least vacuum better lol.

It sucked alright! lol Real talk though. The suction was good. I just need an all around winner bot with good mapping also,. The Wyze maps the best but the suction is not good for carpet. I hope I find one someday.
