    Hi Adrian, I discovered your channel when looking for resources for freelance translators on TH-cam. I've watched a few and they are very helpful! For people like me, who just started out in the field and still have a lot to learn, your channel almost covers every aspect of the job, with knowledgeable insights, tips and best of all, your videos are quick to the point, so I don't feel overwhelmed by information and the steps are easy to follow. So I just want to say a Big thank you for you spending valuable time building a valuable information/resource hub for translators around the world. If I ask you questions here, would you be able to email me the answer, or everything will be seen as public comments? Again thank you, I've subscribed and will check out more of your videos!

    This website should have the option to report sellers for devaluating jobs.
    I wanted to try background removal, usually prices start in $5 US dollars for 15-20 images. Today I saw someone offering 100 images for the same low price and he's got more than a thousand votes. Idiots like that ruin it for everyone else. Also, they're giving away their time for such a low price

      These are people that normally have a very devalued coin like Venezuela or India and yeah it ruins it definitely for people like us that earn in dollars (I'm from Ecuador) and besides my country is a third world country imagine when people want to pay me $5 (and the 20% discount for each Fiverr sales ruins it even more so $4) Horrible in every way! But I made my way to the top and I'm a level two seller now! n.n and I charge very nice amounts for my knowledge

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Hi Mohammed, yes what I'm referring to here is separate proofreading by another language professional. That's another service. Of course a translator will always proofread his or her work, but a different set of eyes spots different things :)

  • @tombomb00s

    This was very informative and helpful. To put the prices into perspective though, where I live there are MANY digital nomad types doing this sort of work where rent is about 300 euro a month and other costs are trivial. I imagine setting low prices might seem like a race to the bottom for those living in developed countries, but for those of us who have chosen cheap tropical paradises it means a guaranteed comfortable standard of living.

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Hi Thomas, yes, absolutely, location matters a lot. Still though, people tend to be happy and settle for very little money just because "they don't need more where they live". In my opinion, this shouldn't be the goal of a professional career. By saying this, you basically allow the client to dump prices which harms the whole market. What's wrong with charging more even than you actually need ;) It's not only a race to the bottom for people in developed countries, if we all keep a nice standard and don't work for peanuts, we all live better.

    -The lady who asked if she needs to order, it is because a seller can also make a custom offer and send it to the buyer and the buyer just accepts ...
    -Fiverr takes 20% of every order you get. And it adds 20% to the buyer... If the price of the order is $5, you'll get $4 and the buyer will pay $6

      Hi, thanks so much for your comment. Yes, of course, you can always try. When the client is really not happy, it is possible that he or she will request the money back and give you a negative rating. Once you receive a negative rating, it will be very tough to find new clients. So maybe just be open in the communication with the client and tell him I will give you the money back, just please refrain from giving a negative feedback. You need to start somewhere, so why not :)

      Hi Sebastian! Sure why not! You don't tell your clients how old you are and as far as I know it's legal to work on Fiverr as a minor, so nothing's stopping you :) hats off for being so initiative at your age, this experience is going to prove very valuable in the future!

      @@Freelanceverse hey so... Little detail in occupation what should I put 😂maybe writing and translation but in years? And also in education I'm fresham and I don't have a tittle or idk a certification, I feel like they won't be interested if I don't put something convincing

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes put writing and education and then just put 1 year experience as you're in your first year now. As for certificates, since you probably don't have any expertise yet in another domain (assuming based on your age), I'd suggest you take an online course first, doesn't have to be long and in detail, it's more for the certificate. Maybe check coursera or udemy. Pick one with a good title and then add this for your certification.

    I don't think it's even worth it to start in such pages, given that they profit from people believing it can be a transitory step in their career, but turn it into a permanent, low grade step. I understand this was for you to get more visits, and you seem to have succeeded. however a translator shouldn't contribute to the devaluation of the profession stemming from the belief that any translation can be a 'fiverr' service. maybe it could be ok for extremely short texts, but nothing else.

    the sign up is ok but well it s definitely hard to get clients at first but i feel there's a big flaw in this which is not many people would feel too attracted or compelled seeing the name freelanceverse on your profile on a website platform for gigs and freelance jobs people wanna see the a business name as you saw there's scammers in this and a lot of youtubers making videos on this that just want that commission and people know this with that name your just giving it out man that wouldn't create too much confidence as a customer therefore your example is not really a 1 to 1 example and the pricing my man nobody is going to pay a just signed up account with no ratings and reviews 30 dollars for a gig that scares off customers too just i have to be honest cant start too big on pricing it s setting people up for failure build a clientele and then eventually you cant increase rates just common sense and people getting fiverr just a second job only a few make a living out of fiverr it s the exception

      Hi Deepika, try to rethink your strategy. It shouldn't be your dream "to work on fiverr". You should figure out a way and a business that works as a standalone and isn't depended on a platform. Any platform can fail at any time, never depend on a software that isn't yours.
