    Thank you for all the effort you put in to make this video to respond to the requests from your viewers. It gave us a clear idea of the process and also how underrated and even offensive these jobs can be.

    Hi Adrian, thanks for this video and all the other videos in this series. I have so much respect for you for working on this series, as you're clearly only doing this for your viewers' benefit 😂Thanks for shining a light on the harsh reality of our industry! Sadly too few people out there understand our profession and value our skills properly...

      Thanks for realising that 😄💙 it is tough to make these videos, but the reception and kindness of people in return is worth it :)

    I really enjoyed this series :) It's quite shocking to see all these ridiculously low prices

    Hi Adrian, you should not see this series as "promoting these sites", consider it more as a public service announcement about/against these sites. Without you doing this investigations, freelancers may not find out up front how unhealthy for you business these sites are so when they discover these sites, they may fall into the trap of thinking these sites are actually good for their business.

      Good point, Ben! Thanks for putting it into perspective :)

    Good job Adrian. I am glad you are still sane after this video because I am so confused with this website right now. after watching your struggle, my mind tells me not to go there. So, great job on handling all of this. I really mean it.

    Omg, I don't want to go there 😅
    2-8 USD/hour, 750€ for a 300K book...
    Thank you for showing us the process. What a marathon man since April! 🏃‍♂️

    Hey Adrian, Which site do you recommend for translation and do you use it yourself. I'm looking for a site worth my time.I am very curious from which site those who earn good money earn.

    Hello, thank you for your videos. I haven't her nor seen the amount of money you made after a week. It was recommended to watch the video until the end, which I did but without the amount. How much then did you make after a week please?

    At the end stuff happened and didn't pay the ProZ subscription but it's funny that Ill be doing it next week. Hopefully I'll be able to aim for $80 per thousand words for English to Spanish pair. Why are your thoughts on that?

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure, 8 cents per word is not bad. However, it shouldn't be your ceiling goal. Just a milestone 😊

      Hello, I need your advice as a translator. I found a customer on Facebook and we talked on Telegram, I filled out the contract. Is it possible that he is cheating?.This is my first time doing this. Per page's cost is 36$

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its definitely possible. Facebook and Telegram are both favourite tools for scammers as they are virtually untrackable. Be careful! Maybe ask for payment up front.

    What's the story behind those who are asking for freelance translator with only 2 days deadline? Is it some kind of a scam?

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, no. Urgent deadlines are common in this industry.

    Hey Adrian, just to note, this 1 week tryouts are not really helpful for these platforms at all, I saw the one about Fiverr, lets just say that you need to be placed on page 1 there to get noticed, but the platform itself will not place you higher even if you have good ratings till 3-4 four weeks have passed, on freelancer, upwork, peopleperhour you need connections and rating to be considered at all and that happens really slow...

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stefan, absolutely :) that's why I said that in the video. This is for entertainment only and to show people what the platforms look like.

      Hi, if I may add my experience, I tried to bid on Freelancer for almost a month, but came to the same conclusion as Adrian. Honestly, 99%, literally dozens, of all the replies I got were scammers who want to take you onto Telegram everytime, to discuss whatever (which the platform prohibits). The only 1 positive reply I got was an offer from Bangladesh to work for 3€/h (I'm in Europe). I suppose many of them offer dropservicing and recruit third party translators for cheap on Freelancer.
      Customer support is also not really helpful, and the platform seems to make more money from selling (useless) plan upgrades and special skill "badges" at 6€ each.
      I highly doubt that spending more (wasted) time on there would have gotten me any decent job whatsoever... I think Adrian is right and that we should leave those gig sites for good. Or create our own ;)

    I tried PeoplePerHour a long time ago. I had a similar experience. Only 5-10% had reasonable budgets, and so many people bid on those. They give you 3 or 4 months to get your first job, and if you don't, you have to pay to stay on the site. Well, I didn't get any jobs, so I was gone! But I didn't see anyone from Los Angeles, China.

    • @Freelanceverse
      @Freelanceverse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that would be the logical next one in the series. Will see if I ever can motivate myself to do a video on that 😄😄
