Close Up Comparison - 45 Colt Blackhawk and Vaquero Power and Polish

The New Model Blackhawk and New Model Vaquero are examined close up comparing features and functions of each. Both are in .45 Colt and are stainless with wood grips on the standard or sometimes called “plow handle.” The Blackhawk has more of the brushed finish while the Vaquero is polished and shiny. The Blackhawk with adjustable sights serves it well for hunting and improved accuracy and power with the 7.5” barrel. The Vaquero however is no slouch as standard pressure loads can pack their own wallop and even though it has fixed sights and used in Cowboy action it is not an 1873 frame. The Vaquero being 4 5/8” barrel makes it easier overall to draw. Both are single action and 6 rounds. Either way these are fine SAA Ruger revolvers. (Note: the Blackhawk holster is a Galco strong side and the Vaquero holster is an Azula, both nicely crafted leather.
