S&W 351PD, Ruger LCR, Walther PPK/S Pocket Carry
Pocket Carry is examined with the S&W 351 PD DA/SA .22 Magnum in a DeSantis Nemesis J frame pocket holster, a Ruger LCR DAO in .357 Magnum in a Remora IWB friction / pocket holster, and a Walther PPK/S DA/SA .380 ACP semiautomatic in an Azula leather pocket holster. Strengths and differences of why these work for RE:Desert_Boy’s use as pocket carry for him are discussed. Outakes / Bloopers at the end.

If your gun is a Model 67 you can find the model No. stamped on the frame inside the crane indentation. Your gun really looks more like a nickel plated Model 15. The edges of a Model 67 are sharper than what I am seeing on your gun.
Good information and options EDC , Greetings from Tennessee
Always appreciate you watching and sharing. Have a Happy and Safe New Year randyadams03! Tennessee is a beautiful place….visited Chattanooga many years ago.
I have a Uberti El Patron with the retractable pin, I carry six all the time. No issues. Great video!
That El Patron is a nice revolver as well. Thanks. Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
Hi man love you smile Hope you are doing good do you have any bolt action rifle love to see that. Ps Happy New year
Yes, the videos I have on the Howa 1500 are my .270 Win bolt action hunting rifle. A Happy and Safe New Year to you as well.
I love my third gen detective special. It was made in 1975. I only carry it on special occasions. It does have a some wear (looks like was carried a lot and shot a little). When I bought it there was another that looked like it got hit by a truck. Guessing original owner shot one and carried one. Was gonna come back for the other the next day but it was gone. Was planning on turning it into a fitz special. Noticed it shoots closer to poa with lighter loads. At least mine does. Also like you said after 3k plus p it is supposed to be looked at by a professional gunsmith (who specializes in colts).
The Detective Specials are gems. Nice to have 6 rounds of .38 Special in a snub nose. Great that you were able to find at least one. Have a Happy and Safe New Year hasgunwilltravel6840!

I carry a taurus 856 38 everyday. Just like a 38..

@@redesert_boy8202 you and yours have a blessed holiday. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year..
Nice 38 Redesertboy 😎👍
Had it at the range the other day. Just reminded me of what a great single handed short range shooter it is too with standard or +P defensive ammo. Merry Christmas JoseyWalesWisconsin!
@redesert_boy8202 Thank you Redesertboy..Merry Christmas from my family to yours Bro...take care!!
Tow year ago my wife bought me a Henry Big Boy lever action rifle in 357mag for our 30th anniversary. I have been looking for a Ruger New Vaquero in 357mag to pair it with the Henry. It would be a perfect match!
Very fine rifle, nice gift. Sounds like a good plan and a great match. I have a Rossi R92 lever action in .45 Colt to pair with my New Models Vaquero and Blackhawk. I also have a .357 Henry Big Boy carbine with the large loop lever and brass, yet no single actions to pair it with, just my 686 plus .357 magnum.
@redesert_boy8202 excellent choices!
I just uploaded a video to my channel with my SP2022 collection and all the accessories I have acquired over the years. Check it out, you are going to like it. Btw Merry Christmas!
I will absolutely check that out katanapr3. Merry Christmas to you as well!
That's a good rig you have there, the classic P2xx line is the way to go!
You look sweet darling 😊❤
Yes it works well. Maybe someday I will find a P226 Equinox with the short reset trigger and shiny metal finish with wood grips as a companion. Have a Happy Holiday season steven3379.
I have an order PPK and I hate it for CC 😅 I get the same bite on my thumb every time I put rounds through it... My wife can't keep a good enough grip on it and it jams on here pretty much every time she shoots it... I just ordered a pair of P365's for us, a 380 Rose for her and a basic 9mm for myself. She really likes the way they feel and she can actually pull the slide back on the P365, unlike the PPK which is hard as all hell to pull the slide back on...
That Rose P365 is a really classy looking gun. Yep the PPKs do the slide bite, but for me they are accurate even with the small sight. Concealability is very nice and will have to do a video on the Galco Lite 2.0 shoulder holster I have for it soon. The P365 is easier to operate than the PPK/s. Have a great Holiday Season iamsuperbleeder.
That finish is beautiful! Did you have it buffed out, or did you buy it like that?
No buffing. This finish is how it came and I bought it used from the original owner was my understanding who may have never shot it. Thanks davidearl1056.
Just a follow up, now that think about it this was not the one from the original owner and yes I believe this one was shot some. However, still no buffing. It’s just as I bought it.
I have 2 Sig P-Series guns and love them both.
You know after I asked about if you would keep some revolvers, I went back and watched your video on shaking up your collection and saw the P227. So I know you might still have that one. I suppose the right question Big Swoll58, would be are you getting closer to the magic number of 5 in your collection or is your collection still growing since you said there were several semiautomatics you had your eye on. Wishing You and yours a great holiday season!
@. Merry Christmas to you brother. No my collection is not growing right now. There are some guns that I have my eyes on, and I may own in the future, but I haven’t purchased any of late. I am not real close to getting down to my bottom five yet, but I’m slowly working my way that way.
Beautiful guns. Love them snubbies.
And I know you are very well acquainted with revolvers Big Swoll58. You think you will keep a couple when you are done “rightsizing” your collection?
@ I’m not sure what I’m gonna keep when I finish downsizing in the E. I’m thinking I’m gonna keep one semi and one revolver. But I’m still a long way from that so I won’t be surprised if that changes.
I carry an Old Model Vaquero 5.5" in .45 Colt as my EDC...
Sounds like a fine EDC and classic as well. If I remember right the Old Model Vaquero is a larger frame making it a stouter revolver. Thanks for sharing about using a single action for EDC ByLandandSeaArms.
It should be CIP rated that is the Eruo. rate system it should eat FMJ and JHP standard presure rounds. NP my 1873 remingtom outlaw runs standard 9mm. FMJ and JHP.
Appreciate your insight and sharing Reshtarc. Thanks.
I have a 45 Colt double action revolver for EDC. I prefer the .452 Maximum Expansion bullet by Lehigh defense. see it in action here: th-cam.com/video/5Bo44nokg88/w-d-xo.html
Appreciate you sharing and that video of the Lehigh defense bullet. I also have a S&W Governor which shoots the .45 Colt well as a cross draw defensive carry. Is your DA a Taurus or S&W or something like that. I have always wanted the S&W model 25 in .45 Colt, but usually only find that 6.5” version as the 4” mountain gun is hard to find. Also certain Model 25s are .45 ACP only with moon clips. Thanks thetexasrat.
@@redesert_boy8202 I cross draw carry as well. I have a Judge Magnum (which has a 3" barrel and a 3" cylinder). I also plan on sizing some cases down to fit this bullet into regular 45 Colt cylinders, so as to fit in a Ruger Redhawk with a 4.2" barrel for EDC cross draw. The Ruger Redhawks with the 4.2" barrels also take moon-clips of which one could trim down .308 cases to accept this bullet for speed loading purposes.
@@thetexasratYou know when the Ruger Redhawk 45 Colt / 45 ACP with the moon clips first came out many years ago, I ordered one and after many months of waiting cancelled the order. That would still be the best overall DA/SA .45 Colt IMHO as the Redhawks should handle very stout loads to my understanding. You may want to check out Garrett Cartridges of Texas who make RHO or Redhawk Only cartridges even in .45 Colt. Thanks for sharing.
@@redesert_boy8202 I'm sure that being the cases will have to be cut down that Garret does not have these. And being they will have to be made up special I can just as easily make them myself. I have the equipment to do so, but no known load data for this exist, so I'll have to work up a load myself.
Nice revolver! Been lookin for one myself. 😂 BTW I started new channel...have a good day and take care my friend
Thanks. I will have to check it out. Hope all is well with you JoseyWalesWisconsin.
FTX load 185,225 in your Vaquero will surely defend. I've seen your choices in carry arms. This an additional option. Greetings from Tennessee. Heads up, I have 2 SS Taurus revolvers. I use Birchwood Casey. Lead remover & Polishing Cloth. Works very effective with the carbon ring on cylinder and ported barrel. Keep it away from Blued metal.
Thanks for the heads up on the Birchwood Casey lead remover & polishing cloth for the stainless steel. I would imagine keep away from nickel too in addition to the blued? Thanks again randyadams03.
I agree
Thanks for your comment and your subbing to the channel SHOOTIE9.
I like my 629 3" cause of the feel and balance in the hand...that's a really handy barrel length. Take care brother 😁👍
And that’s a really handy size to carry .44 Special for personal defense as well as the stout magnums. Since you hand load you can set it up just how you want it with the bullet you want. You take and be well too my friend!
My old friend Mr. Holster used to call these the "square revolver."
Ha Ha! An absolutely fitting name! I could indeed hear him saying that in his special way. Good thoughts and memories of a true icon in gun culture and You Tube history. Thanks Greg! Thanks to Mr. Holster and his legacy as he rests until our Lord returns.
The Sig Pro are great guns! First model came out in 1998 called SP2340 chambered in 40s&w and 357sig. In 1999 they offered a 9mm version, the SP2009 but both were short lived. They both were discontinued in 2022 when France ordered 275k gun for their police force. Changes were made to the design to what is now known as the SP2022. Colombia, Portugal and Malaysia are amongst some of the countries that adopted the SP2022 for their military or police forces. At one point the SP2022 was offered in all three calibers but now it is only offered in 9mm. I bought my first Sig Pro in 1999 chambered in 357sig and automatically fell in love with it. Today I own every single model and caliber this gun was ever made. 9 guns in total including some custom ones I have come across. Nice video! Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks for the kind words and sharing the history of an overlooked and under appreciated firearm. I have also thought of buying at least 1 more in 9 mm and maybe other calibers as I enjoy and like it that much. You especially have a fine collection of them and can enjoy them for years to come. Be safe and well!
@redesert_boy8202 I am glad I can help spread the love for this gun. Here is a little short I did with my SIg Pro collection. th-cam.com/users/shorts4UUiRzUOAaQ?si=pascnpXNf1SCJsKs
@@katanapr3 Yes really enjoyed that short. We should all be so equipped with .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and of course 9mm. Thanks katanapr3! BTW with the katana in your name, may II ask if you have edged weapons like swords?
@redesert_boy8202 I did have a small sword collection at one point. But when my oldest son moved out of the house, he asked if he couldn't take them with him and I let him have them.
Thanks for this video. I will keep an eye out for a clean one!
Michael, I was looking at a new Colt Viper the other day, it appeared that maybe the K-Clip and K-Pak would fit as I believe they are new D frames. Have you tried them in the new Viper? Wishing you a Wonderful Holiday Season!
Makes a lot of sense to me! Love that Rossi too.!
Thanks steven3379. Yes, that is my first and favorite Rossi R92 probably since its .45 Colt. I have 2 others in .44 Magnum and .357 Mag/.38 Spl. They are very nice too and both stainless.
Beautiful rifle I would take all the garbage on top off. It takes away from the nostalgia look.
I do agree it looks best in its original natural open sights set up. I am doing a more detailed video next week talking about why I did it and how if I buy an updated same Henry with a side gate loader I would most likely return this one normal. Thanks jackieschuler.
Very nice, made me smile
So glad you enjoyed it joepro3749. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Hello @redesert_boy...it's a great carbine still😁👍 Have a great day...hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Take care!
We did….hope your was great as well. Having one of those quandaries of should I buy the nice clean Model 67 .38 Spl stainless no dash with wood grips or the older (not a 3 screw) Ruger .41 Magnum with some wear. I was told 7.5”, guess I need to look at it. Need that .41 Mag, want that classic S&W….lol.
Uberti. I hope you’re watching this…
Yes, I appreciate that. Sometimes companies update or fix what is not needed….just like the S&W key lock. Also there is a Part 2 as to how it was resolved if you have not seen it. Thanks for watching and sharing.
@ The problem I have with Uberti is not that they came up with a passive safety system, but that they didn’t make sure that their new system worked well. In a manufacturing sense, things get through QC, that’s understandable, but stand behind your product and make it right.
@@Daniel-yf9iy Well put Daniel-yf9iy.

They most certainly have their uses. Wishing you and your family a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving mr. plowboysghost.
And to you and y'all, brother . @@redesert_boy8202
Very nice Indeed! It's good you still have these.. How many revolvers did you lose in the boating accident?
Yes, I feel fortunate to have them. Appreciate the humor. Have a great holiday week steven3379.
Something near and dear to my heart! Snubbie revolvers! Nicely done video Robert. BTW - I started carrying the standard pressure Hornady Critical Defense in all my older revolvers. The pressures aren't much less than the Plus P.
I quite agree Greg. The Colt DS for sure uses those and the S&W Combat Masterpiece either has those or the Hornady American Gunner 125 gr XTP. There is so many very good standard .38 Special offerings now. Looking forward to your Journey with the .44 Special Bulldog. BTW are ever tempted to one day explore these new S&W and now Ruger .32 H&R Magnum (also shoots the .32 S&W Long and .32 S&W) snubbies being offered? Or maybe like me you’re hoping Taurus or Charter Arms might build an affordable one, lol. Thanks and Blessings my friend!
Great review. I want one of those too. I have a P226 in .40 S&W, but I really want the Mk 25.
Any P226 is great to own. There was a time I wanted a P226 Equinox with the wood grip, polished finish, and most of all the short reset trigger. Thanks Big Swoll58.

Keanon thank you. I know Sig Sauers are among your favorites. Have a great Thanksgiving holiday!
Very nice Indeed.. I've been thinking about getting one of these, as my dad (95) was in the Navy..
Thanks for sharing steven3379. This one is always in my “go” bag as it is reliable and durable.
@steven3379 I highly recommend it! Thank you for your dad's service! 🇺🇸
I bet that was fun, I’ve never went hunting. I’m from TN I may have to arrange that one day. Gorgeous gun as well, I hadn’t known that Ruger even made revolvers.
I did enjoy it. Ruger is known for making very sturdy, reliable, and well made revolvers from the compact LCRs to the double / single action SPs & GPs to the Vaquero and Blackhawk single actions. They also make many .22 LR & .22 Magnum revolvers. Thanks for sharing.
I don't see anything "wrong" with loading that way, and I see how one could arrive at the conclusion you did. I believe I wouldn't, but that's just me. That Keith style load would be very effective against most anything, too....but that heavier, hotter, bigger meplat load should be even more effective.
Mr. plowboysghost always appreciate your insight especially with .45 Colt as you have been working with that caliber quite a while and developing your own loads. Planning this winter to really get started on hand loading not just for .45 Colt, but .38 special, .357, and possibly .32 S&W Long, as well as .45-70. Wishing you and yours a great Thanksgiving next week.
Agree to Individual choice. Next hunt luck to you. Thanks

Your DS is a beautiful piece of history. Thanks for sharing. I have a 1972 Colt DS in nickel and a 1967 Colt Agent. My two favorite snubbies.
I remember that you have that nice nickel Colt DS. Did not remember about the Colt Agent. Very cool. Really seen some nice Colt Trooper MKIIIs lately, but pricey. Yes, the Colt DS is my favorite .38 Special snubbie. Appreciate the new 7 round K-PAK2 and the SafeSnap discs among other things. Hope your holidays will be great!
Professional gunsmith with decades of experience here… we will never tell you trade secrets because you’ll cringe at how we handle firearms. Every proper gunsmith has about 40 different hammers and 200 different types of punches and if we need to have a special tool, we make it. Like in the case of that squib… we just pound the fuck out of it with a soft brass punch 🤫
Appreciate you weighing in and sharing about your profession. I am just damn glad to get my classic snubbie back that is hard to replace. Most people do not recognize value of craftsman in our society. So many young people do not have the patience and focus to watch, listen, do, and learn to build the skills that are becoming scarce and sparse in today’s world. For most if you can’t find it on line and do it in 30 seconds, then there is no interest. Thanks for modifying, customizing, engraving, restoring, and repairing our firearms. Be safe and well bennicholson5238.
How did the gunsmith extract the bullet from the barrel?
I did not see him do it. My best understanding from the gunsmith is he has various size rods (not sure of material) that match caliber to remove them somehow. Good question for your local gunsmith. Thanks.
That’s nice. I’m glad it all worked out. I had one in a colt .45 in a Ruger Redhawk. The only one in my life of 47 years of shooting. And like you bulk ammo. From a local ammo maker.
Thanks I appreciate that. Sorry you had to experience that as well. And with a Ruger in .45 Colt my favorite caliber. Just hesitated too long last month and missed out on a Ruger Redhawk in .41 Magnum. Nice you have the .45 Colt Redhawk. Did you know Garrett Cartridges makes RHO Redhawk Only .45 Colt ammo. Be safe and well bryanmise5105.
I dont trust factory ammo. Since covid lots of videos of guns blowing up and squibs with factory ammo.
Usually do not shoot bulk ammo in my more special “ collectible,” guns like this fourth series ~1994 Colt Detective Special….just stick to self defense or good quality FMJ. Yep looks like the supplies I been putting together along with reloading guides and equipment need to be put to use. Thanks for sharing A.R. American.
