I am so glad you show that you keep everything in your videos showing that it doesn''t always go perfectly. I have forgotten stuff on numrous occasions including my seat and sandwiches so I know the feeling. Amazing how the rivers have changed over the decades and not for the better. Thanks for all the tips, they have helped me so muvh Graeme.
Watching you fish makes one instantly WANT to get out there and feel those taps! Sooo informative and fun to watch! This was a day of gold Graeme! Thnx for sharing.
Incredible session. Across the puddle here in upstate, New York (U.S.A.), we don't have any place as hot as this, at least that I know of. 50+ in one session.....incredible! The closest I ever came to your 'score's was 14 Bluegill and a few, about 3 if I remember correctly, small (16+/- inch) catfish in one day. But ya know what they (whoever they are) say, even 1 fish is great!!! See ya in the next one.
I don't fish in the USA but if u are finding it hard to catch try looking at UK float fishing with small hooks and worms and not jigging it it's a lot better I fined for perch that are a bit like blue hill over there
Cracking watch always love watching people fish my club stretch and see how they do and what tactics they use this is a tactic I have been toying with but never got round to finally trotted for barbel on the centre pin last season and had a few upto 9lb 4oz. All the best for your next visit and you never know we may meet on the bank
No problem,I just got back from a manic 4 hours at a local day ticket water...so another film done for the files..Carp,big Roach and Bream, plus using a home made float...
Thanks for uploading that Graeme, I'm in Mid Wales and often go there where you fished when I get fed up of carp fishing. I think Woody showed me the stretch about 20 years ago, it may be more but it certainly is a great stretch for chub an nowadays barbel. I can't think how else you could have as much fun for £10 these days.
I like it up there but I'm a newcomer to the river so don't know all the best "secret" spots, only the day ticket area. Plenty of spots to try though ,it all looks good.
@@TAFishing I think that's one of the best parts of fishing. Exploring new stretches of river and finding those unfished places that are full of fish but nobody goes to them. If you want peace and quiet for filming then explore the Welsh part of the wye or the Wye towards Wales. Hay Warren is one place and has day tickets at £10
Thanks, hopefully more to come but its nice to be the first to put up so many all-round fishing films, especially as I must certainly be the oldest fishing TH-camr in town !!.
Instead of using Luncheon Meat, for the last couple of years I've switched to using Tulip Tinned Bacon Grill from larger branches of Tesco. It works just as well, but it's a little firmer so it remains on the hook better.
@@TAFishing It fries well too & that way a crust can be out on to help it stay on and flavoured in the pan. Plus you can make it buoyant/semi buoyant according to how well fried. On rivers like the wye/kennet etc i have just assumed it flutters more since the current still pulling it down if semi buoyant. But anyway it can get more bites on the right day.
Hi Graeme - I do like it when you do a River Wye episode as I live so close to the both the River Wye and River Lugg. Your channel is making me get back into fishing, so thank you. I know exactly where you were, not far from the new cycle bridge around the what's known as the Eign area - due to the Eign Rd on the other side of the river. You mentioned a pub meal hope it was Herefordshire beef based and a local pint of something....your lucky. Herefordshire has Weston's Cider, I would suggest Stowford Press in the summer. But anything from Westons is good. Or you have Bulmers Cider which is based in Plough Lane opposite Woody's Tackle shop, so that is very local. I did work their, so if you buy any products that may help my pension pot. Or a local favourite would be Wye Valley Brewery Butty Bach or HPA. If you prefer gin or vodka, then your in heaven as Chase is based 3 miles from where I live and is total quality. If you are going to stay over night in Hereford, then have a curry in Jalsagor and pop over the road before/after (I do both) to The Barrels that is owned by Wye Valley Brewery. The landlord Phil is quality and I worked with him at Bulmers. If you need anymore fishing information then trust Woody, if you need food & drink ideas in Hereford then I am a good source.....Enjoy Herefordshire, I do I lived here all of my life !!!
Haha !...You certainly know your way around the food and beverage departments in Hereford. Hopefully I can get up for a couple of days before the cold weather comes. Thanks for posting I'm sure your tips will help others as well.
If you miss the river - Look for a canal. Open season all year round so long as you have the correct permit to fish there 😁 Unfortunately my local canal is very polluted, Got too many boats moored, and local pubs/restaurants that open up next to it are a bit of a menace because the amount of people that pile out and sit on the towpath, and most of the big fish have been illegally removed for the pot by the locals.
Sorry for being a pedant, but it's only in England and Wales that there's a closed season for coarse river fishing (not the UK as a whole). In Scotland and Northern Ireland there is no closed season for coarse fish!
What is the attraction of the solo bachelor fisherman? My parents had a fellow that lived just off their dock for 10 years... ice or water... he was there.
Nice video Graeme 🎣. I also hate getting hooked up on other people's discarded lines 🤬. Especially when you have a decent size fish, on the line. 😕.brain less people . I us too live in New Tradegan Sw Wales. My buddy Dave & I, luvd catching 2 & 3lb gayling 🙂. Trotting or high stick nymphing, free lineing a big slug 🤪. Dave had his PB 8lb 4oz ,what a monster 😃.we also used floating pastercen ( pladoe ) , for carp fishing. As a strike indicator, when surface fishing.
Downstream wind probably yes as it drags the float down too fast. Upstream...maybe..as that can help you hold the float back so the bait reaches the fish before the float.

Keep an eye out for Preston new plasticine multi coloured bombs, and the Preston luncheon meat pocket liner 😃😃
All ways interesting Graeme keep it up pal
I thought it would make a change to see a film on moving water....Always enjoyable challenging the species in our rivers...Roll on the 16th June....
As any parent knows, if you mix all the colours of playdoh together you get a muddy, brown/green colour ;-)
i wish we had chub in northern ireland, excellent fishing as per good sir 👍👍
no flash bait no flash tackle ,just good water craft well done
Nice watch Graeme.
I love to watch this man fish xD
Have u ever fished vale if so any advice on what to use
Could always go for a spot of trout fishing before middle of June though no? Love to see a bit of river fishing regardless
where do you buy your trout pellets in bulk like in the video?
Wicked love ur show g

Hi Graeme, just been watching one of your videos about pheasant shooting, are you still doing them as this one was 6 years old . Regards 😎
No I don't shoot, its Mike that does the shooting. He still goes out occasionally with his mates on the clays or rough shooting.
Hi Graeme, you mentioned Mal Storey in the video and I just wondered if it is the same Guy who sells tackle on E-Bay?
No idea, but he ran a tackle shop and was really helpful and informative .
Where are all the canoes!? Most summer wye trips ruined by the things
Watching it via. The head cam gives more of an insight, V.R. would be brilliant.
