Ruddy hell, Graeme, I love these overnighters. But what's so interesting about this sesh is that it shows the other side of fishing. You could be on such a potential great lake, have all the right bait, but never quite catching what was expected. We've all had them days/nights. This is the beauty and mystery of fishing. Thanks once again, Graeme, for such a fantastic watch. I saved this until I was off work. Oh, and the beers went down great. Cheers!

That was lovely. That to me is what fishing is all about. The serenity, gentle wildlife, unbeatable natural beautiful, mother in law snoring, unpredictable outcomes, and hot grub cooked outdoors.

The lack of dawn chores could be due to magpies. They used to shot the magpies at my home golf course, but they stopped about 6 years ago. Since then, slowly over time, all the song birds disappeared. We now only get magpies, crows and occasionally gulls.

Absolutely love it my friend. I've missed these long, die hard style of videos. I often fish overnight in pursuit of many species. This time of year, is a prime time for pre spawn blue and flathead catfish in my area. Not so much for numbers of fish but great for giants. Hoping to get some on film soon.

Well you did not disappoint me beautifully filmed, lovely Rudd with the odd Perch. A great looking lake. You put one hell of a lot of effort into this session from raking out the swims to the smorgasbord of baits and preparations. I can't fault the effort you put in so thanks for posting and giving us great entertainment for over an hour.

Tench are amongst the most inquisitive fish in the pond, if there has been a disturbance they're frequently the first on the scene. One tip I would give with raking is that you want to wrap as much lead around the head as possible because otherwise it'll just skate over the top of a lot of it. I manage a shallow, weedy lake and we didn't really start making a dent with the 6ft wide steel boat rakes until we wrapped about 40lbs of lead strips around them, they're an absolute pig to load onto the dingy now they weigh about 80lbs but you've only got to make one pass over a strip rather than 10 to get it clear

When I buy a tub of Worms from my local Tackle Shop they are usually so Dehydrated that they are almost lifeless, so I give them a fine- mist spray with pre-boiled and cooled water, or rainwater if I can get it. It perks the little blighters up no end and brings them back to life!

Re: stirring up the bottom etc, many years ago I went on a fish collecting trip to Ardleigh reservoir. We had a 200ft net which we towed out in an arc from the bank. In the first sweep I think there was something like a handful of fish. When we did the second sweep over the same area, no longer than 30 minutes after the first, the result was something like the cod-end of a trawler net. The net was absolutely stuffed. All sorts were in there but we were after perch , and we weren't disappointed. The bigger fish probably went 3lb+. Too big for us to transport but lovely to see after the decline in perch numbers in the 70's. This was probably 1979.
