    My grandpa gave me a seiko 5 that he have been using for a long time, and now thanks to you I could learn about the history of this amazing kind of watch!

    I’m a Seiko 5 fan too! They provide so much good value, it’s so hard for me to justify moving up to the more expensive Seiko models.

      @adrianchoo337  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I got to agree. Actually, most watches don't really justify their price tags as you go higher up the chain as they don't reflect the price increase. But sometimes, we just want. 😁

    Only watch you truly need honestly. I have one and a gshock, it more than covers 99% of situations you'll be in.

      That's true. Anything more honestly is just luxury.

    I own 1 Seiko 5 SNK809 and 2 Seiko 5 SNK8xx one of these beige ones. The black one runs 5 seconds to quick each day.
    The thing is the service intervall. Both Rolex movements and the 7S26 movement of the Seiko 5 should run equally long but the cost to service is tremendously different. Just few people really can afford to service an Rolex so why have it?
    To be honest I will never return to quaetz watches. Inexpensive but quality automatics are the way to go. An option are maybe these Vostok watches as well.
    I like the Flieger dial of the SNK8xx models. But this model has about doubled in price for todays about 100$ while they werw 2 years ago about 50$.
    I dont see why an Rolex should not cost 80$.

    Fantastic video mate, it's amazing what you used to be able to get from seiko. It's shame that all their watches have now gone more premium. Least they have a lot of used and new old stock.

    I am a tortoise is making up my mind. You're right about the day/date complication, yet it's very reassuring when it's done right.
    I've been around the block of what entry level watch to purchase; maybe I don't even need a watch? - (The boy scout in me says otherwise); but I keep returning to Seiko 5's!
    A succinct and well clipped video, showcasing the watches really nicely! Maybe you've added to your collection again now!

    Thank you very much for the interesting video bro! Also can you explain about SEIKO 'K' & 'J' variations of the model number. E.g. SNKE01K1 & SNKE01J1. I like to know is there any mechanical difference, quality or any other impact between the 'K' & 'J' version of a same watch model. Thank you bro!

    Very good watches and either is suitable and reliable as your only watch. Personally, I don't feel the need to spend thousands on a luxury watch when I can get plenty of joy with a Seiko 5. Some of my Seiko 5's are even running within COSC accuracy, it's amazing for the price.

    Great video. I have 17cm or 6.75 inch wrist and have SNK807 but sometimes look too small. What do you think about that? Thanks.

    • @adrianchoo337
      @adrianchoo337  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's about the same size as the snk807 so if it will probably look small to you as well. Really it depends on your preference. I personally think it would be ok though. I think the best way to judge is to actually look into a mirror. Gives you the perspective of someone looking at you. Hope it helps!

    I just picked up the snkd97 on impulse and am really happy with it. One question, have you used it in water that much? I bought it as a holiday watch, one you can wear and forget about. I wont dive with it, but a general swim is okay?

    • @adrianchoo337
      @adrianchoo337  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've gotten it wet dozens of times and I think swam with it once or twice. Seiko says that their 50m watches can be taken for swimming so I think it should be ok. Do take the necessary precaution though. www.seikowatches.com/global-en/customerservice/faq/general-information-6

    You said that the Seiko 5 has the crown in the 4 o'clock position, but you showed one Seiko 5 with the crown at the 3 o'clock position and the dial shows the Seiko 5 logo.
