Correction: For the sake of context, through our findings, this appears to be a demo from December of 1998. Taken directly from one of two first demo tapes Noel put together for the album that would become Oasis' first album in the new decade, 2000's STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS. A late 1998 demo from Noel!? Wha--- To hear a demo get cleaned up this good is a testament to how long music can last, even in a demonstration such as this, recorded as early as December of 1998. We will not change the description above as the collection of tracks the demo came from should remain in the order it was found.

You can hear a lot of solo Noel psychedelia in this song. It was the beginning of something really magical. What a fuckin era...
Hope we eventually get a SOTSOG deluxe reissue.

it took them like 10 plus years to give us knebworth and that was one of the biggest things they ever did, i doubt we'll ever get something out of the SOTSOG era again.

I don’t know if that’s likely, Noel doesn’t look back on any post WTSMG album with much fondness. He attempted a remix of BHN in 2017 and gave up. Maybe he’ll mellow with age.
Yes, strange with SOTSOG at the time of release it didn't have that much of an impact, it just took time
I feel like this was the beginning of Noel's best period as a songwriter, from around 98-02 he was hard to top. He was very reflective and introspective, almost in a soul searching way during that period as he came down off the drugs. Great job on this by the way. Sounds really clean.
I've liked but I have to disagree as aan with oasis tattoos and a union jack es guitar and obsessed since they came out who I listen to all day.i have to be bias and say from live together he got his shit watertight.no offence dude.and like u said they done great job cleaning it up

True. He evolved so much as a songwriter. Especially their last album. Also his solo stuff

You’re entitled to your opinion. I like the maturity and reflective/introspective nature of Noel’s tunes from the Early 2000’s period. Just my two cents

I love listening to these demos of Noel. I know he usually laid these tracks down himself before he took them to Liam. He is quite the songwriter. He’s got the gift. Btw, this sounds epic!
Noel was always the more atmosphere-driven musician; this version edges out the original because his voice can carry the haunting quality the song needs. Ballad of the Mighty I has always seemed like a spiritual successor to this.

It's definitely been cleaned up a bit compared to the original demo, from an audio quality perspective. This is as good as I've heard it sound.

Definitely. There was such a thrill going out to find it. Those bootleg albums were hard to get making it rare and so sought after. On one hand it's great to just type and the search and sound just pop up, but the flip side is it was more enjoyable trying to get a hold of it...

It’s a demo Man. That’s why it’s a demo as it’s just getting to know the chords & words melody etc. every demo gets polished up & more musically arranged than a DEMO. It’s A absolute masterpiece of a track when it was finished. Gas panic is a brilliant song. ✌️👍✌️

His voice is actually fantastic here. I have no idea what you mean that he sounds like a 'guy on the street'. Noel has a remarkably strong, confident voice. It's not at all this run-of-the-mill voice.
