    This reel is IMO the best entry level big reel out there. Good honest review 👍🏽 user friendly, priced right, as the best features for entry level.

      It “reely” is.
      Great reel for someone who is also just an occasional angler.

    I enjoy this reel. Currently I own the 4000, 5000, and 6000. I do agree with you on the body. I wish maybe on the 5 and 6000, or possibly just the 6000, they’d give it a medal body. Just to help keep the flex down.

      It’s a solid reel. But it would be great for a metal body. But for the price! Can’t beat it

      @psychicpsychtoad1441 for $60 it’s a nice reel. Like I say in the video though, I wouldn’t go chasing any fish bigger than 50-60 pounds with it.

    You have it backwards. They call it a baitfeeder because it IS a baitfeeder. Baitrunner is Shimano's term for their reels

    Hey bud, so would you go for this or upgrade to the lurekiller or maybe a noeby infinite both full metal?

      I’m not familiar with the other 2 you mentioned, but if your looking for a sub $60 reel this one is great for the price. As I mentioned in the video, I just wouldn’t go targeting fish over 50+ pounds on the regular with it

    Is it worth the money? Is it durable? Bought some cheaper bait feeders and they last a yr. Not worth the money in my eyes.

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing
      @BitesandStrikesFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion it’s worth the $55 if your looking for a bait feeder. I’ve landed 70# fish with it. That was probably maxing it out, but it’s handled plenty of 20-30# with no issues

    Three of my 6 handle gear lugs broke off after 15 freshwater drum and three weeks total use. Too bad l liked the reel till it broke. kastking told me it was a weak design and common issue with the bait feeder. He had three and they all did the same thing.

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing

      Interesting, that’s the first I’ve heard anyone say they broke. Honestly a little surprised, but not totally

      @@BitesandStrikesFishing I was bummed because I really like the bait runner feature along with the big oval rubber handle. Kastking recommended to replace it with another model. They recommended switching to a reel with a direct drive screw in style handle. They said the regular sharky was great. I asked for the speed demon 7.4 as a replacement...or the regular sharky if they didn't want to jump up price wise for an up grade.

    Maybe you could help i am looking for the baitrunner which would recommend the 4000 or 5000 am mainly fishing for catfish and carp up to 15 maybe 20 pounds fishing rivers ponds and lake erie

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing
      @BitesandStrikesFishing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only difference between the 4000 and 5000 will be the amount of line they can hold. I normally side on the more the better but it’s a personal preference. More line simply means you can cast further and you’ll have to respool less often

  • @Popcornbeetle

    Not worth it for heavy duty jobs like crab snaring. The frame flexes like a noodle and tires you out.

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing
      @BitesandStrikesFishing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does flex under pressure, but it’s fine for medium to small catches.

    • @Popcornbeetle
      @Popcornbeetle 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agee smaller sharks are ok but again if you’re chinking out 5+ oz of eight and bait, you’ll feel it flex a lot when reeling in your catch. Otherwise really like the features and price point.

    It's actually not plastic it's graphite composite so technically it's a lot more durable than plastic so that's a false con.

    That reel is the biggest pos I've ever bought. 20lb catfish and the body of the reel flexes so bad it doesn't reel. Used it to catch that fish and immediately returned it . Okuma for the win. Kastking is cheap shit!!!

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing
      @BitesandStrikesFishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is cheap for sure. I managed a few 40lb cats and a 70lb gar with it, so a bit surprised to hear a 20lb took yours down. Like I said in the video, I wouldn’t buy to target large fish.

    • @chuckschillingvideos
      @chuckschillingvideos ปีที่แล้ว

      More likely it's graphite impregnated plastic. Solid graphite would be a terrible material to make a fishing reel with.
