We thank you for supporting the channel! We are working on editing part 2 of the Fall update and waiting to put out the biochar making video until we have enough wood to make a batch. Watermelon stix video coming mid week. We hope everyone has a wonderful week 😁
Wow this is the exact video I needed to see. I never even knew what IBC stood for, or that there were 3 different types of valves on them. Thank you for making this video!
I have done this the hard way many times on many tanks and the final iteration I got was like this but not as good. This is the best way to do this people!!
My IBC tote has same scenario as #3 presented here. Rather than rely on the few threads present or the hose clamp method, I opted for positive mechanical connections throughout: D200 Camlock (2" Female NPT) - polypropylene reducer bushing reducer 2 x 3/4" - nylon 3/4" male adapter to garden hose adapter as used in the video - brass
@@conradhomestead4518 You are very welcome. After watching, I went to HD, bought what I needed and in less than 20 minutes installed the adapter as you demonstrated so well to my 330 gal food grade water tote. Working like a charm. Blessings from NW Georgia!
That 3rd tank is a device called a camlock. The tank typically has a male camlock and what you need to connect is a female camlock. They work extremely well and won’t leak even under pressure.
Sounds real good. The idea behind this is a “universal “ solution. Thanks for the information. I’m sure it will help someone. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Happy hunting! I believe these are a great value for water storage. Alot of beverage companies and distilleries go through a lot of these containers. In Arizona I could get them cheap from a bottling company. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video I have the black 3rd type plan on using 10 330-gallon tanks for my irrigation water that I'm only able to use once a week. Now how about showing how to but something in the top to connect 2" PVC pipe.
I have a type 2. The coarse threads didn't inspire much confidence for using a leak proof adapter. This looks waaay better. ETA - 2 inch rubber sleeve was too big for my type 2 tote.
The Nashville area should have a large surplus of these IBC tanks. I think that sounds like a great solution. Thanks for watching! Do you guys plan to go to the meetup again this year?
@@conradhomestead4518 Yes I found a bunch of them for 50 bucks and 55 gal rain food grade barrels to for 20. Yes we are going to the picnic hope to see you there again.
There’s a lot of variables. Maybe a foil seal not removed? No water in tank? Broken valve that doesn’t open even if handle turns? Hose has kink or obstruction inside? Gravity temporarily out of order? If you figure it out please share. So I can sleep tonight.
What kind of system are you planning? Beverage companies and distilleries are good sources. We have quite a few distilleries within an hour of us. Thanks for for watching Chad and family!
Conrad Homestead well we are actually going to put in a shallow well for now . We’ve been using just rainwater catchment but our 4 55 gallon barrels just isn’t cutting it for our family of six and our animals. When it rains our barrels overfill and just goes on the ground. Just need bigger containers. But winter is coming and all the rain water catchment systems will be useless for months!
Winter does make water collection more difficult. The ball valves have the issues with cracking in freezes. I’m thinking of placing a few IBCs in an insulated shed. Get what you can done before it’s too cold👍 We have few winter prep projects to get to.

IBC tank molding machine making video
I followed your instruction and just did it. I was going to ask a plumber friend for help. Thanks a lot.
This helped me a lot. Thank you for your short and on point video. 😎
Wow this is the exact video I needed to see. I never even knew what IBC stood for, or that there were 3 different types of valves on them. Thank you for making this video!
It actually stands for Intermediate Bulk Container, not international like was said... But the video is helpful for me too.
@@Andy_Holmes exactly
There's more than 3, I have a tote with about a 3inch fitting!
This video hit the nail on the head. 100% helpful. Thanks.
Glad to hear
I wish I could like this video twice. Short, clear and concise. Thank you!!
You’re too kind! Thanks

Rewatching, since I've finally gathered all the supplies needed. Water storage to finishing out this garden season will be a blessing.
Have a Schutz tank that we couldn't find an adapter for. Never considered that rubber coupler. Thanks a bunch, you helped us out a lot.
So glad to hear that. Thanks for taking the time to say that. Best of luck to you.
I didn't even think about that rubber adapter and the low pressure. Great idea!
Thanks soo much! Godspeed to you
Awesome, help me out quite a bit. Thank you for posting
Good job, bro! I just got one for Hurricane season. Man they are a life saver!
Yes they are!
Best video I’ve seen on TH-cam about this
You’re too kind. Thanks
Very helpful video !! I ordered 3 adapters from Amazon, but not one fit #3 type ! Now I have a solution ! Thanks Man
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback!
Am into them for two none fitting ones haha.wye didn't I think to try TH-cam ha
Cam lock adapter didn't work for you?
Thank you Conrad (from New Zealand). That's exactly what I needed to know :)
Glad it was helpful!

I plan on trying to round up some ibc totes this summer and this info will come in handy.
IBC totes have good value. Happy hunting. Thanks for supporting our channel!
Did you find some?
Thank you sir cause it's been hell trying to find a cap or adapter for the second type IBC tank here in Mexico.
You are welcome .

Always welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have wondered how I could put fittings on those totes - didn't realized the discharge is on the bottom already- Rick

Thanks for the comment!
love the shirt
Thanks
Yeah, I bought the 2" PVC female fine thread for adapter on #1, but I had #3 container.
Back to Lowes
Doh! Hope it’s set now. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good video
Many thanks!
On your 3rd example a 2" camlock works , about $13 at my local hardware store
Thanks. The main idea was to offer a solution for all possible types , universal.
How high up would you mount the base of that tank for good water flow on a kitchen sink setup?
Great video!
Not sure
boa noite muito legal suas explicação eu uso estes container para criar peixes
The containers work well for that. Thanks for watching
Mình mới mua mấy thùng IBC tank của Công ty Nguyễn Lộc Plastic dùng thấy rất tốt và có độ chắc chắn cao. Các bạn nên mua về sử dụng nhé!
I’m sorry I can’t help. I am unable to read text.
Thanks
You’re welcome
Good timing
Glad to hear. Happy hunting.

Thanks
I have a type 2. The coarse threads didn't inspire much confidence for using a leak proof adapter. This looks waaay better.
ETA - 2 inch rubber sleeve was too big for my type 2 tote.
Bummer. Thanks soo much for the update
thanks
You are welcome!
With that rubber sleeve do you get any leaking?
No. If you do you can adjust where the clamp is making contact.
How to make more water pressure to spray in the garden?
You can add a pump or use gravity to add water pressure, by making a water tower.
They’re called “Reducers”.
👍
How much flow can you get with half full tank. I need at least 8-10 GPM flowing. Tku
With just gravity? Not sure. I’ll test and report.
I'm needing a tank like that to water my chickens we are moving the coop out back...and right now we have no water outlet out there.
Good idea.
The Nashville area should have a large surplus of these IBC tanks. I think that sounds like a great solution. Thanks for watching! Do you guys plan to go to the meetup again this year?

Hi Conrad family :)
Hello Patty! Thanks for watching!
Okay so I got it all set up put the hose on it opened up the ball valve and there is no pressure even with the The fill lid loose. What could this be

Golly I’m funny😂 I just read this reply again
We could use some of these totes.

I wonder how well the tanks would hold up underground? 🤔🤔
Conrad Homestead maybe ok with the cage around it.
Nice video …but, please lower the intro music volume.
Thanks for the feedback. I did not realize it was louder in beginning
Just buy the correct connection. Cam lock fitting
Keyword… Universal

“Type 3” = cam lock fitting
My tank has no water flow after i hook up my garden hose Why?
Check for blockage of pipes or hoses. Are your valves open? Use ball valves only , no hose bibs.
I already did that I put a pumps on it
Did it work?
or just use an ibc s60/6 to tap adaptor, like its designed to take...
Put silicone around the threads otherwise it will slowly leak.
Good tip 👍
Can you tell me which kind of silicone to use?
There is another type with a 3" outlet
Good to know. I’ve never come across one of those. Thanks
Kya price hogi is tank ki
Location is probably a factor. Where I live they are about $50
doesn't work on my Shutz tote
Thanks for the feedback
IBC stands for intermediate bulk container. Just saying
Good to know. Thanks
or you could have paid 6.99 for the garden hose adaptor
At the hardware store?
I don’t know if you know this, but you need to cover that IBC tote in six mill black plastic are you gonna start growing algae in it?
We have not had any problems with algae yet, for three years. But we do drain them completely about once a month. Thanks for the comment 😁👍
I store my rain water I collected for 2 plus years .. clean as the day it went in .. no poison to keep it clear .
