- Cynthia England has won another award at The Houston Quilt Show 2023. Join Alex Anderson as she shares an interview with Cynthia in front of her winning quilt. Cynthia worked on this quilt for a little over a year during COVID. You will enjoy the story of this quilt. Then Cynthia will show you her Picture Piecing technique. I saw Cynthia’s first presentation at the day group of QGGH (Quilt Guild of Greater Houston, now defunct) in spring 1992. She had about 30 quilts, all finished and each one a different design/color. This was before she developed her signature Picture Piecing. Every time I see her at a quilt show I mention this and she says to me “I was so nervous”. She sure didn’t look nervous and was professional then!

I had just shown my son the picture of the Succulent quilt from your email because he really likes succulents. At the same time I was watching the interview from Houston and low and behold, there is the actual quilt. It is so impressive. Great show and interview. Looking forward to our "guild's" new year.
My kitchen is that color and we totally love it. It’s happy and cheerful, and soothing, and so much better than the boring white we had. You will be happy in that blue living room😍

I was behind you Alex in the Sisters Outdoor Quilt show when we made a quilt with fabric held over our heads. I think it was the 25th anniversary. So much fun.
I was lucky enough to take a class with Freddy 20 or so years ago in my home town of Santa Rosa, Ca. It was simply wonderful and honestly, she’s unforgettable. Love her. ❤️ After the class I went out and bought so many yards of bold fabric to play with. She such an inspiration for me. Thank you Freddy.

I have gone to her class twice and have made several of her smaller kits. It’s a really fun technique.

Thank you for this fantastic video!! I found Cynthia's book on Ebay & it arrived today!! Can't wait to try out her technique!! She is scheduled to be at the quilt show in Pigeon Forge, TN, in June which I hope to attend.
