Your going to love this. I put the Dark Horse compensator and the Rekluse Torque drive clutch in mine and love it. The clutch really made a difference its so much better than stock. You should have had him add the Rekluse Hydraulic slave cylinder when he had your exhaust off that would make the clutch pull about 40% easier.

I’m kind of surprised that with the power your bike is putting out that you left the stock clutch basket. I know you didn’t have notch’s in your stock one but I’ve seen a few videos of guys that have torn up their stock basket with a stock or a max of stage 2 build on their motors. Just something to look into when/if you have the time. Apart from that very nice build, very glad I came across your channel as I’ve been looking for a shop for a future build that works with power vision. Definitely a fan of how meticulous Dave seems to be with his approach to building a motor up!

Make sure you get the RMS-285H Rekluse clutch not the RMS-285. They updated the basket sleeves on the 285H because the original ones were sliding out of the basket on some bikes, mine and Johns for sure. Rekluse did tell me they have not seen very many bikes have problems with the old sleeves. As you may have seen from John's Laconia series he had problems with his. I called Rekluse and they sent me the updated sleeves for mine although I was not aware I was having an issue. When I opened up the primary case I found two of the sleeves had moved out and been broken off, I also had one sticking out about 3/8" that would have broken soon. The sleeves had ground some of the aluminum off of the inside of the primary cover, and it was all over the inside of the primary case. John had one stick in the clutch that caused his not to work at all, mine was working normally so I had no idea anything was going on. If you have the RMS-285 with the old sleeves I strongly suggest you call Rekluse and get them to ship you the new sleeves. My clutch has 10K on it. Rekluse was very supportive they even shipped me some extra primary fluid and recommended that I change it a few times over the next 1000 miles to make sure all the remaining aluminum is gone inside the primary.

John , what does Dave recommend for oil in the crank? I caught that he won’t use synthetic in the primary because of slippage butt I can find his preference in the transmission and crank case. I’ve enjoyed watching your build and how he loves his work! Thanks

Interesting about the oil, Dave said use regular and not synthetic on the clutch, I have synthetic in all my holes, Canadian model, does that make a difference??? @@glencross4461yeah true but from a reliability standpoint i'd throw my leg over ANY of my old Evo's and never have to worry about stuff breaking like that. This is the first time I've watched a video of this nature, TH-cam recommended it so I just happened to click on it. Im an "A to B" kind of fella and thats all that matters to me but again thats just me. Some of you gentlemen just gotta have 100hp+ engines etc and dump BIG bucks into getting those numbers. Im sure I rubbed some people the wrong way with this comment but 70 HP is plenty enough HP for ANY touring model bike. Easy on the pocket book and MUCH easier on the bike and components. These bikes can't handle big HP, crap starts breaking as you probably already know. Good luck with your bike, it looks really nice.
