    Bought a healthy minirose plant on 7th Jan, 22. After 3 days of keeping the same under shade I had re-potted the plant. Did not disturb the root ball much and kept the root ball with original soil intact mostly ... only took out the soil from the peripheral surface to free up some roots. Used 40% vermicompost, 20% each of soil, cocopeat and river sand. Watered well after repotting. After repotting I had kept the plant under semi shade area ( with bright daylight ) for next 3 days (no further watering). Then kept the plant under full sunlight where it gets around 3 hours sunlight (11 am till 2 pm) ... watered on the 2nd day after bringing ti the sunlight. Now after 3 days I can notice that all the flowers and buds are drooping (heads down) but leafs are okay (except that some leaves have started yellowing and dark spotsare appearing in the yellow leaves). What may have gone wrong? What next to do ? Please help! Anindya, Kolkata

      I had bought last year in winter 5 rose plants one was mini rose, kept for 5 days in the same small bag of nursery, first day kept in shade slowly made used to original place then transfered to original pot with some epsome salt and well drained soil, bonemeal and neem khali in evening , that time I removed all the roses and buds without greed so that the plant fully focuses in growing, kept in original place, till now the plants are good and blooming.

    I purchased 2 different species of grafted roses from nursery. They had black spot issue, I removed all the infected leaves and sprayed fungicide. Few new shoots came out on both plants but I feel that they both are dying. I don't know what to do with them now. I never applied any fertilizer. I try to water them carefully and kept them away from sun. I shall be grateful if you could guide me how to save them.

    Hello Sir,
    I bought a small rose plant from a nursery a month back. It had one rose and one bud at that time. Both bloomed well and I dead headed the plant.
    But over the last week, the plant is not doing well. Its leaves are turning yellow and in some leaves, the tips are brown. The plant has one main stem and 1 small stem at the bottom. There are only 4 bunches of leave left at the top of the main stem and those leaves are already spoiling.
    The thing I have noticed is that the soil that came with the plant is clay like and holds too much water. I have not watered the plant for 5 days and the soil is still very very wet.
    How do I save my plant? I was thinking of repotting the plant using different soil (a mix of garden soil - 80% and cocopeat - 20%). Will that work?
    PS: I use only organic home.made fertiliser since I have a baby at home and I use my flowers for making oils and rose water

    What can we use instead of bonemeal? I didn't get it here in.my country.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jokha Mohamed, thank you so much for the support, much appreciated :-) Instead of bone meal, you can use Super Phosphate. I have already shown using super phosphate. So, you can increase the amount of super phosphate slightly. For example, instead of 5 grams, you can use 7 grams. But it would be much better to use 5 grams initially and see how your plant is reacting. I always avoid using too much chemical fertilizer at once as overdose can kill a plant immediately.
      Other organic replacements for bone meal is bit hard to find :-( But it may be available in your country and you can use rock phosphate, soybean meal, crab meal, poultry manure, seaweed extract etc. I hope you can find the seaweed extract easily. Please let me know if you have any questions and I would get back ASAP. Thank you once again and have a great day :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Jena Beagle, Since mini Rose plants produce lots of buds n blooms at once, they take some time to repeat it again. As your plant already has green leaves, it would produce buds very soon. Please make sure to fertilize your plant on a regular basis to get good results. Good luck 👍

    I noted the fertilizer mix in one of the replies. I do not know where to get each of these items. Is there a fertilizer available in the market that does the job of reviving my rose bush, which is firmly in the ground in the front yard and cannot be transferred to a pot. I am looking for a fertilizer readily available in the market. Will adding new soil help?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jagdish Chawla, There are single product in Market that does decent job and here I am giving few examples - 1. Plant AB Rose Care 2. BIO plant Rose Beauty 3. Casa De Amor Rose Care (available on Amazon - amzn.to/3iUyvVD). And, definitely adding new soil would help the plants and if you want to apply similar products like me, then you would get all those components in any fertilizer store or online. I have 2 more videos about the fertilizers for Rose plants and if you like, you can watch them here - 1. th-cam.com/video/pHka4FZTqUE/w-d-xo.html and 2. th-cam.com/video/QAr8Yhdixtk/w-d-xo.html Good luck :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @falah deeba, Sorry for taking some time to get back, had few comments to reply. Once again thank you so much for your feedback, appreciate it. You can start applying the fertilizer after 15-20 days from repotting. Then, once in 30-40 days you can do it. But in Summer, apply only if you see your plant is actively growing. In most cases, Hybrid Rose and Mini Rose plants don't grow well in Summer as they don't like too hot climate. Hope I answered your question but if there is any, plz let me know and I would try to get back ASAP. You can also use organic fertilizer (which is safe) and here is one of my video - th-cam.com/video/pHka4FZTqUE/w-d-xo.html Thank you :-)

    I have bought a new rose plant from nursery and it's transplanted in nursery itself. But I don't see any growth to my plant. Can you tell me if it's right to repot or change the soil. I think nursery person did not give good soil and my plant looks dull and not growing. Shall I change soil and repot it?

    How do you know when rose is dead? I have one with a little green by the root but the test is brown.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Leslie Delcid, Please scratch on the bottom parts of the stem..if you see green, the plant is alive and can be saved. If it's brown, the plant is already dead and it would be impossible to save it. Rose plants are hardy and they don't die that usually. If you are finding it difficult to understand, how to check by scratching, please go to the 1:23 of this video - th-cam.com/video/pXWEkllBubo/w-d-xo.html
      This video is on other topic but you would see how we can scratch the outer surface and we find it green on live stem. Thank you!

    Can they resist outside in winter time in Spain weather? I have bought 4 small bushes 3 weeks ago, I kept them indoor because It’s called outside, 3 are good so far but one is drying, I don’t know how to save it.

      Hi @nawal essahli, I just checked on Google about average winter temperature in Spain and found that it's around 18 degrees Celsius (64 Fahrenheit) on the coast and in the Canary Islands around 23 degrees Celsius (74 F). This is perfect for Roses and they would do well in outdoor. You won't need them to bring them inside. In fact, temp in Winter in my place (India) is almost same. People who get frost issue, they need to bring them indoor as Roses can't survive in Frost. I may be wrong as I am depending on Google's answer to reply your query. But I believe, you got what I wanted to say...(Everything depends on temp and please don't believe what all websites say as most of the sites which are ranking in Top 10 in Google, refers US climate and rest websites simply copy them) Good luck with your Roses and please let me know if you have any questions, I would be glad to assist you :-)

      @Amirtha Parthasarathi, If there was continuous rainfall, this might happen and specially during this time of the year. Your plant would look good if you repot with good potting soil mix and this is what I do for my Rose plants at the time of repotting - th-cam.com/video/xvTOm4MADdQ/w-d-xo.html Thank you and let me know if you have any questions :-)

    My miniature rose is receiving sun from 7 am to almost 12 noon. Should I shift it in green net?

      38-39 is really high and it would be better to move them under green net as there is an option. Thank you so much for calling me Dada, really liked it :-)

    Hey hi
    I also got a button rose
    But leaves are extremely small in my plant and light in colour
    What can I do
    Even experiencing die back on some branches
    Should I repot ?
    It has little hard red soil
    Or should I shift in half day sunlight bcz temp is around 26 in day

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a feeling that, only the sucker is growing on your plant. That is why, other branches dying one by one. If you got a sucker, please remove it ASAP. On this video you can see how to sucker looks like - th-cam.com/video/0fYvCmwWMlg/w-d-xo.html
      If there is no sucker, obviously you can repot by providing fresh potting soil mix and it would be a good idea to provide half day sunlight as temp is increasing day by day.
