    I love this type of video. i am not only into trucking but but as an active person that recycles trash, this is how they take loaded recyclables off of the trucks and load them onto ships.

    I'm confused in how these things work. I've pretty much never seen a container trailer on the back of a truck on a regular road. Do you have to deliver the container to a warehouse and then they are going to take everything out and put it on their company's trailer?
    Also if this is the case, I'm not saying I do not like your truck, but I just think it's more efficient to use european trucks in the port

    • @ArtStoneUS
      @ArtStoneUS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The gross national limit on US highways is 80,000 lb with a trailer size of 53 feet (typically about 40,000 pounds of net cargo). Almost all International marine containers are 20 or 40 feet. It's not uncommon for an incoming container to be taken to a warehouse to be unloaded and "trans-loaded" onto a domestic conventional trailer, or the goods may be stored temporarily in third party logistics (3PL) warehouses and sent to multiple destinations as needed. The customers might be as far as 3,000 miles away.
      The United States is not Europe. We have wide roads for trucks and fuel is cheap.

    I appreciate the video. I am looking in to pulling the containers from Southern Cali ports. Do you recommend to purchase truck with sleeper or day cab? Most of my moves will be within 100 miles.

    Why do most of those chassis on the left have either tridem (3) axles or quadem (4) axles? Are the containers they're carrying too heavy for standard tandem axles?

    This is rediculous. I'm guessing 1 hr wait for each queue. Port trucking sucks, that means 3 hrs Dickin around before you get a load. That blows. Up here in the north east , port load rates go as low as $50. WHAT A RIP OFF
