Worked BNSF MOW at Hobart yard LA a few a bunch of times. Broken rails, frog replacements etc. Very fast pace work place...i saw a train back into a moving "yard dog" with a container....all bad!
i do intermodal and rail yards are all different , it take imo about 5-10 times going to the same 1 to feel almost comfortable but like i say they all have there own ways so its not like a amazon yard where u seen 1 u seen em all ,,,
@@AlignWithDivine1 They are really strict on their no phone policy. Ive been Dedicated/local with Swift for 4.5yrs making 52k and was interested in going intermodal in their Dallas area. Ive heard horror stories about intermodal though 😣

Though it may be true that shipping goods by rail helps reduce congestion in long trips they still have to make the final journey by truck thus not solving the traffic problem in the cities
They travel by ship, by train and then by truck... their contents finally end up on the shelves so millions of people can get in their cars and drive to the stores to get what they want!
Cool video...does the ticket you get when you first pulled into the yard tell you to drop the can in "lot G"? Or did you know which lot to drop in before you got there?
