    I worked for Devine & Peters way back in the mid 90's. Used to drive a KW day cab. It was a fun job except for the very long hours! Usually 430am to 7pm. Keep truckin!

      Gonna be easier for you since you have experience. You won’t have to worry about driving although in intermodal, that is the easiest part. The hardest part in my opinion, especially if you’re going into marine containers and using rail equipment is the seemingly unending search for GOOD ENOUGH chassis to pull (it’s never great). It can get overwhelming sometimes. You’re gonna get in trouble if you let down your guard and rush your pre trip. It’s nothing like pulling your own trailer and getting to know every inch of it.

    How is paperwork handled on a container? I assume the license plate comes back to the chassis owner. Is there a bill of lading? Where do you get it?

    I don’t get it. You working very hard. No benefits no union no holidays no overtime no vacations. No union pencion. I sold my truck 20 year ago. Im doing much better now. Do the numbers. At the end is not worth it.

    • @pinoydiesel5296
      @pinoydiesel5296  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      While I agree with most of your points, how is working hard a negative? Being an owner op sure isn't for everyone and in my opinion if you don't have plans on growing the business beyond owning and driving 1 truck, then it isn't worth it. In my case though, I do plan on being a fleet owner. On the flip side, if you're perfectly content in being a company driver then good for you. But then again, a company driver is all you're gonna be.
