- #bislama#vanuatu#language Bislama, the world's easiest language, learn to speak Bislama, the national language of Vanuatu. Why learn French or Spanish, when you can learn Bislama. It's quick and fun and is easy to speak.

Tenk yiu brata blo mi. Mi wantem go lo Vanuatu bakegen.
Nambawan! Your video helped me understand these comments 😊 Papa God I blessem ❤
I’m already in love with this language. I speak Pidgin, so it’s easy for me to understand Bislama. I just stumbled into it and I will continue to listen
This is so great! Thank you so much for sharing, I’ve been trying to tighten up my Bislama recently before my wife and I travel out there later this month. I’ve also been enjoying your vlogs as you travelled there! Love the videos!
I really appreciate your comment and your thoughts. :) I hope you enjoy Vanuatu . Thank you so much for your kindness.
Can confirm, the trip was incredible! @ItsYomi - I gotta ask, apart from living out in Vanuatu for a while, where did you learn Bislama? Do you have any good resources that I could use to advance my learnings further?
@@timcombridge Hey! Sorry for the late response. I didn't get a notification for this. I mainly learned Bislama from the Peace Corps workbooks online. There are also a lot of dictionaries where I searched for words. There are also some movies on TH-cam in Bislama. I also would recommend the Wikipedia articles written in Bislama. I learned a lot of vocabulary there. I'm glad you enjoyed Vanuatu.
OMG !!!
I love it 😊
Thank you! :)
@ I want to learn this language; I can understand it because I speak pidgin English; I only have to learn how to speak it
You got very good video and I like that too much :)
Very interresting and educative. Thank you for that.
Perhaps, just a sugestion, when I learned this language, what helped me, was the etymology behind the words like bambae/bae=by and by, olgeta-all together, olsem=all same, fala=fella, bin=been, blo=bilong, (save, pikinini) etc, and then it clicked right away, but one must be aware, they are used in Bislama in much more-more broader sense.
What is interresting is, that most of these words is recorded in english pidgins/creols all over the world, not just in Melanesia.
Good tips! These are excellent. Yes, it is interesting to see how words change. And it's interesting how creoles in different countries have similarities. Thank you for your comment. :)
Thanks for sharing this language with us. It has to be challenging learning a new language but you've worked hard at it and it shows. Keep it up! 🫡
I'm glad that I can help. Thank you for appreciating my work. Hopefully, you will travel to Vanuatu one day. :)
Thank you for makin a video on my countries language. I am very impressed on your breakdown of the language.
Tip: some foreigners think when we call them white man/black man, they think we're being offensive, we just take you at face value, if ur white, ur white man. And this kinda embarrassing but i'll just let yk 😅 Ni-Vans, we dont call a dude from Asia, an Asian man, we all call them "Ol Chinese" or "Chinese man" and we cant tell the difference if someones Japanese/Korean/Viatnamese. Its not that the people are trynna be offensive or racist its just they dont know the difference. We dont mean to be offensive. I apologize on behalf of my people if it comes out offensive. 🙏🏽😅
Anyways, hope se yu kambak lo Vanuatu wan day mo mi hope blo meetim yu brata. God Bless!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to share about your country's beautiful language. And thank you for the information. Yes, this would be controversial for many people. However, it is surprisingly the same in many languages I have learned and regions that I have visited. Thank you for educating me on this. It is very interesting. :) I can't wait to visit Vanuatu again. You country is so beautiful.

Hey. Thank you for putting info out on Bislama. I taught at Talua Ministry Training Center in Santo back in 2004. Another good resource for learning Bislama is the Good News Bible in Bislama. It’s huge because of the lack of vocabulary in Bislama
Thank you. I hope you enjoyed the video. :)
Very cool! And yes, the Bible in Bislama is very helpful. It is the book with the largest selection of words for the language. I learned so many Bislama words from it. :)
That was AWESOME!!
Mi toktok Bislama smol smol
I’m going home to Efate for Christmas 🎄 for the first time in 4 decades to spend the holidays with my non-biological family.
Last time I sae my brother was feb 2020 & I promised I would speak Bislama 75% of the time.
😅
I need your help, I leave in a week 😳
Wow, good job! You're making great progress already. I hope you enjoy Vanuatu when you visit. Let me know if you have any questions. :)
Thanks
You're very welcome. :)
Thanks for your information. Very educational ✌️🩶
Of course :). Thank you so much. I'm glad I could help. :)
I would say that while Bislama doesn't have a Language Authority like Spanish or French it did have a standardized alphabet that everyone seems to use. I think when English speakers they have a warped sense of what that means Linguistically since they ironcially don't have one
See Jamaican Patois for a creole that uses english spelling and so has a hundred different ways ro spell the same thing
I'm glad bislama doesn't stubbornly use English spelling even tho their pronunciation is not the same anymore.
Like Man Jaena wouldnt be spelled Man Chinah or something
I wonder is, I stret do some peopel write it without the t? Ir is it pronounced in some in dialects?
I like that woman is pronounced as it's spelled in bislama ❤
These are all good points. I'm not sure if "i stret" is written without the t sometimes. You could very well be right. The way that people write words on the islands is not the same way that scholars have tried to standardize the language. Since Bislama has no official spelling, spelling can vary a lot.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. :)
