It was a debate that this song was based off of the person from another song called the ballad of Jeremiah peacekeeper. And he was telling someone he cared about that to not mourn for him and to keep living for him. It's one of my favorite songs because it's so beautiful
This song is how i felt for my dad as he was dying in hospice in late 2021. I know its song for a man and a woman but i cradled my dad in love in his last days. Miss you so much.
Love watching you love PotF. It never gets old seeing people get into them, they are so so good. All of their lyrics are pure poetry, and yes, the way that line "For fear it sounds like... like a lover" is perfectly executed, just the way you explained it, that hesitation, that moment of "oh, are we going there?". Wow. Thank you for you inghtful comments, makes me appreciate a song I love anew.
Thank you very much for your interpreting of Marco's lyrics! You have given me new understanding of its depth and beauty, made me see some wonderful details I missed. And this piece about "fear it sounds like... like a lover"!!!! Simple phrase but performed with so much talent - it really reminds about that great first feeling of LOVE that makes your heart jump. It's magic of true art. And I loved this song at once because of this only phrase - it makes you relive your feeling of falling in love every time you hear it and see that smile on Marco's face like no other love song in the whole world.
Hey I just stumbled upon this searching for some POTF content and had to stop here to say that the way you present your reaction to Markkos voice and message is just so crazy well said and expounded upon. Subscribed for sure
Oh there are not enough words to describe how much the music of Poets of the falls music has ment over the past 15 years since I first heard them. OMG! Thanks for reacting to their music.
Fun fact. They used to be called Playground they are the in game band and soundtrack band for the games Alan Wake and Max Payne I can't remember which game it was, but they are in the game, on a stage putting on a concert it it!
They're in Alan Wake and the sequel. They were in Max Payne 2. They were in Control. They were also in Death Rally, as well as Rochard. I think that's all the games they have songs in.
they're called the old gods of asgard it's their alter name in games for games like Alan wake and Control and most of their in game songs vary in sound profile and rythm
The game is Alan Wake and there's one hell of a battle scene on a stage while one of the songs plays. I think that's what you're thinking about. Because I can't remember a single game where these guys are in the soundtrack with her on stage playing unless it came out after Alan wake. You want to hear something kind of neat and different than most bands can't do? Okay so the song war from Alan wake.. listen to that album version and then go listen to the Alexander theater sessions version of the same song. So the one from Alan Wake that song is a song of victory. Nothing less than. Go listen to the Alexander theater sessions version and it becomes a song of defeat. It's amazing how they can completely change the direction of any of their songs Just by the way that they perform them.
Thanks for a supreme rraction letting your emotions come out❤️. What a messenger of the best of humanity this band and Marko are. I use to watch their Sleep from the same Moscow consert if I feel lonely and difficult to calm down for the sleep. Look at the emotions, the almost cry for gentle, warm love from an adult man on the faces of those girls💓
Did you know that they put those songs together in a very particular order for reason most people are not aware of that. There's progression through the entire album. Did you notice the last song some of the visual effects that they added up in the lights above all the seats and which song it was? I don't want to spoil it for you or anybody else cuz it took a little bit of research to figure that one out. I mean just the fact that they don't call them you know song one or two or track one or two they refer to them as episodes..... That kind of had me going down the rabbit hole. First time I ever heard these guys was when the janitor was humming and mumbling the song late goodbye in the video game Max Payne 2 back in 2003. And then I remember seeing one of the bad guys in the game playing it on a piano and then when I finally beat the day I'm game I got to hear it during the rolling of the credits and that did it for me. I've been listening to these guys ever since.
This commentary of the piece is bettern than the original. Loving it. I have had a crush for the last 6 months or so and this _so accurate_.... To dare to say her name, in fear that it might sound like.... like a lover.
When he speaks of..."I was your Starline"... The Titanic was one of three ships in the starline fleet. I believe the Britannica was another one. Two of the three sunk. You see the reference there? I have been listening to this band since they're very first single dropped back in 2003 in a video game. I'm not going to get into all the details but some of us can relate with particular bands easier than others. And a lot of the music from this band is absolutely tragic it really is. It's very emotional. I certainly don't want to get into personal details here but....... If I could only pick one band to ever listen to ever again it would be poets of the fall. Not only are the lyrics just absolutely nothing short of a masterpiece an emotional masterpiece...... The music is equally as breathtaking and this man and the rest of the band they have the ability to take literally all of their music and absolutely 100% just shift the direction in which it goes take the song war for example. Listen to the album version it is a song of victory. Then go listen to that same song from the Alexander theater sessions. That is a song of defeat. Same lyrics. Just presented a little bit differently. I typed an email and I sent it to one of the promoters for these guys and I asked him if he would forward it to them and he did. And I actually got a response. From the band. it was a rather long email. Just explained about a lot of tragedy that I've experienced in life and multiple aspects locations and at different ages and let them know how much I appreciated the music and how it's always been there and how easy it is for some to relate to etc etc and the response I got was just absolutely amazing. For those of you that do want to get a message to these guys it's not that hard to do. Just find out who manages them or promotes them and reach out to those people politely and ask if they will forward an email. I guarantee you if you word it correctly they will do it.
By the way, this is for you Big Brain Singer, the ddolphin in the lyrics ment the way those creatures can use their ultra sound as a bit like a language and also see the enviroment in pitch dark so that is actually a good metaphore.
Thank you very much for a great reaction to a great song! If you like even more amazing acoustic from Poets, pls listen the "Alexander Theater sessions". Just piano and Marko in 19th century Russian opera house in Helsinki Finland. Absolutely beautiful!
To me the main message is thet if you don't take emotial risk revieling your inner self to another person, you won't ever experience what all that could be and if you take those risk you may get heartaches, but it is still way better than the cynical and selfish lifestyle where some people just exploit others. You can build a frotress for your innerself and be almost immune to everything bad but you loose the good ones at that prosess too. But if some other people hadn't take sometimes enormous risks for all kinda things and situations and even in science, we would be cooking our meals with fire even today. But the same goes with relationships too... The only risk you should not never take is beeing dishonest as that DOES have a backflash sooner or later in every given scenarios...
marko voice like you say and that song dang it´s good. maybe somebody wise take this song in romantic movie. i think if ridley scott put this song his movie the last duel maybe movie interesting people more :) remember robin hood, kevin costner and bryan adams :) thanx to great reaction and have great day there.
Thank you for another great reaction to my favourite band. I loved your interpretation, I wish you’d cover more POTF songs, because I do not only want to hear people’s opinions in reaction videos, but I’m looking for more, like vocal and lyrics analysis, the way you do it. You might want to check out the official video for this song, since it’ll help you look at those lyrics from yet another, quite different angle: th-cam.com/video/bp0AHQooVSY/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Hope you’ll enjoy.
But what is so wonderful about music with lyrics you actually have in a one piece two differnt kind of art forms ciombined. The music that can be alone a storytelling aspect, but if add on that meningful and well tought lyrics you have two arts in a one thing and the top notch is when you have video that compliments those others and they have almost everyting combined to just one experience. No wonder that the videos of songs have become so important and why also in block buster movies we have so good soundtracks today. Music isn't just entertaiment, it has this colletive power to make people feel the same even regardless of the lyrics. All arts are mainly an expression of emotions and that why sometimes some songs hit you so hard as you have felt exactly the same in some part of your life. Some classical compocers made their best music when they were old or like in Mozarts case, the Requim for himself, not in selfish way but explaining the hard truth to have to give up from everything as a human.
for whatever its worth, get Firefox as your browser, add in the extension UBlock Origin and never see a damned ad again. There's another extension that will auto-skip any sponsored shit in videos as well.
Jesus he got such amazing voice!

great thing about art is that we can all have our own interpretation of what it means to us. sorry for your loss.
It sounds like a lullaby for a child to me ❤
My condolences for the loss of your dad x
In these sorry societies we have created, we need to remove all labels that we can.
Music is for people who love each other.

Yes!!!

It's a very moving song poets of the fall hit different when it comes to the emotions they want to portray.
You'll have to grab those alexandre theatre sessions songs!!

I really love this song
I cried with you...

So many great Marko's we have here in Finland ❤️😁
No, we have many great musicians, but only one very unique Marko.
Not gonna lie, I started off thinking this was going to be technical, but it hit me super hard in the end...
When he speaks of..."I was your Starline"...

80% of the lyrics Marko wrote it. React to Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day from them. He wrote the lyrics when he was 20yo.

Such a good performance and that voice is so fantastic. Oh and all those beautiful Russian girls in the audience. I think I have to go there. :)

And if a woman is committed to you, you better take that as the most profound compliment ever. They do then mean what they say.
If you haven't I think you should visit Jealous Gods by Poets of the Fall.
