He’s not really an antagonist, he’s still the main character
    He’s definitely a villain

Eren is the protagonist, there is no doubt. But, if you watch this video, I present the case how Eren is the antagonist because of how he alone changes the rest of the cast and the other protagonists (Mikasa, Armin.) This is common with antagonists as they themselves usually don't change but they assist in developing the protagonists. It's even more evident if you've read the manga that Eren doesn't change fundamentally, (he's always been himself, as he says.) But, just about every other character changes because of Eren, which makes him antagonistic.

@@foursfilms Nah you definitely got a point in your vid. I’m just saying that in terms of the point of view character eren is still the protagonist but it makes sense why he’s the antagonist for the other characters

Personally I like to think he is both a protag and a antag. Because he used to clearly serve as the protagonist but he clearly switched to the antagonist in season 4 part 2 because all the other main characters are against him, and we don’t see him very much

A a main character can be both be the antagonist and protagonist of the story.
A protagonist doesn’t have to be good . A side character can he the hero of the story

think of it like lelouch from code geass or light from death note. you can switch the roles of the protagonist and make it seem like they are the antagonist (s2 of code geass got rid of this aspect somewhat) so you in conclusion you can make the marleyans or more specifically gabi's/reiner's group the protagonist and antagonist even though they are just the antagonist, same thing can be applied with eren but he is the protagonist(this can only be done in the final season). that is my take on it

light is never the antagonist no matter how anyone tries to frame it, while with eren if you change the definition a little you can see how his development is much more of an antagonists' type than a protagonists. This is what I do in this video.

@@foursfilms and if we are going by your definition in the video then the death note another antagonist due to it forcefully causing the change in light to go on a murder spree

Eren has changed in the series. There have been tomany to name but for one eren twice in the series wanted to die but was convinced by other people to keep fighting. The first time by Mikasa and armin and the second Historia. Goku is the protagonist of Dragon Ball and Naruto of his own series. They both grow and develop but they are fundamentally the same character at the start of there stories. Just because a character has some fundamental axioms doesn't change the fact they aren't a protagonist. This applys to Eren. Thus video is wrong.

No, yes, but no. He’s the main character, and the antagonist is opposing the main character. He isn’t opposing himself, but his motives is hella wrong.
