I feel Eren was way more edgy at the beginning of the story than in ANR. I don't think giving short answers and acting cool/emotionless counts as being edgy. Though if that was true then Levi has been the edgiest character in the show since he appeared.
Levi has the most traumatic backstory of any character in the story, so him being edgy is just his character. Eren becomes edgy during the Marley Arc but we soon discover the reasons for it, and in 139 we get our seasons 1-3 Eren back, and discover that he was only acting edgy for his friends' sake. In ANR Eren's reasons for what he does differs from the actual story to what I cover in the video. I also didn't include for time restraints the panels where Armin discovers Eren had Historias child, and his response to Armin being upset, which I think makes a bigger case that Eren in ANR is just a straight up villain
@@foursfilms I don't disagree that Eren becomes the villain of the story or at least an anti-hero. 139 says that everything was an act, but anything before that is a clear development that ANR follows. It picks up from 137 and ignores the continuity of the original ending. Those who made ANR believes that the 139 ending was written as rushed and contradictory to everything that came before because it not being the original ending he planned. If you want to know more about these theories you can look on them from the many videos that have been made on them. Anyway. Something that I believe can't be contradicted is that Eren's character is consistent through the story and in ANR, if you ignore 139 and believe what I mentioned before.

Eren is most definitely not "retconned" in the last chapter. 131 and 138 are the natural evolution of his character leading to the reveals in 139, which then makes understanding of his actions throughout Marley and WFP. I'm also only using the word edgy as a way to sum up the many conflicting actions Eren takes throughout Marley + WFP. By 131 it's clear Eren's mind is not in the right place (as he later says to Armin in 139), and then by 138 we find out the truth through the alternate timeline with Mikasa. As for the ANR ending I said precisely I'm not sure exactly what it's going to look like because frankly I don't care for it, and I also never mentioned AOE, only that is common speculation that in the third timeline Eren kills Mikasa to break the cycle started by his dream in Chapter 1.

Chapters 138-139 are so awful in terms of writing, that it brings doubts - was this piece of garbage really written by Isayma or Kodansha hire some no names to write the ending which would suit their taste. This just season 8 Games of Thrones lvl of shit with plot twist such as "Dayneris become crazy and start to burn city out nothing because she hear a bell" or "Dayneris did not saw a big ass fleet from the sky because she forget about them"

I mean yeah - safety for his wife and child is a good reason for Eren to create yeagerist with one sole purpose (take out Zaclay government) become protective force to Historia (make her from puppet to a real Queen) and be OK with several of his friends end up dead (Eren is almighty GOD that can change past events. If he want save them - he would do this easily).
This would also explain why Eren tell Historia (her and Floch) his whole plan (put at risk everything with this). Explain why Historia keep her mouth close for whole this time

eren was "edgy" since the time skip all the way to 139 so by your logic Isayama was a trash writer up until 139 because eren was acting edgy even though there was no proof it was an act up until the last chapter. the entire point of this fan ending is to have a version where eren isn't acting the whole time and isn't retconned like Isayama decided to do in the final chapters.
Eren is most definitely not "retconned" in the last chapter. 131 and 138 are the natural evolution of his character leading to the reveals in 139, which then makes understanding of his actions throughout Marley and WFP. I'm also only using the word edgy as a way to sum up the many conflicting actions Eren takes throughout Marley + WFP. By 131 it's clear Eren's mind is not in the right place (as he later says to Armin in 139), and then by 138 we find out the truth through the alternate timeline with Mikasa. As for the ANR ending I said precisely I'm not sure exactly what it's going to look like because frankly I don't care for it, and I also never mentioned AOE, only that is common speculation that in the third timeline Eren kills Mikasa to break the cycle started by his dream in Chapter 1.
@@foursfilms Anr is not an ending with three-time lines that's only Aoe which i agree is trash, Anr is based on a music video that hinted to the ending that was created by the music directors that Isayama told the ending so they could make music to match it(there are songs you can find that were never used that hinted to Anr). in the video they spoiled the Titan curse ending, they showed paths and they showed the rumbling would happen all before it happened in the manga proving they knew the ending back in 2018. on top of this Isayama hinted at the ending many times and none of it matched the ending we got. he clearly changed the ending and because of how far along the story was the change just caused so many plot holes. you say eren was always acting but eren was "acting" inside his own head if that was the case which is terrible writing.
