Thank God I was a teen in the 80's. Started listening to Metal Church at 16. I'm 47 and still do. They just don't make music like this anymore. This band never got the recognition it truly deserved. ✌❤🎶
True to real metal from 80s we grew up when music was still real and not the crap of today"The GODS you worship are steel at the alter of rock and roll you kneel"
badass, I to am 47 & was 16 when I 1st heard this album back in 85 from a friend of mine who turned me on to the band. Good times being a Metalhead back in the 80s. Killer album then, killer album now. Still a Metalhead to this day. \m/
Alfred Fuentes That's GREAT to hear. I just turned 48 and I still am a Metal Head!!! I was just listening to the best of Motorhead!!! Now it's on to Beyond the Black!!! Music is not a Hobby for me it is my Passion!!! ✌❤🎶

One of the most crunching intros in Metal. Saw them with Anthrax and Testament in 87. The place looked like 3 hurricanes forming with mosh pits in full motion.
I've seen Anthrax 3 times and Testament once. It's cool you got to see Testament in 1987 when they only had their debut album out, lots of Testament fans would envy you for that.

Music was SO MUCH BETTER in the 80s n early mids 90s than it is now, today's metal is garbage compared to then!! Thrashes biggest metallica, megadeth, anthrax, slayer, exodus, testament, metal church, these bands made thrash music!! The forefathers of thrash
You said it! I was a teen in the 80's as well! As you know you found out about these bans by word of mouth, going to shows and you favorite metal magazine! No internet then! The first time I heard Slayer was on a boombox(1985) after school. Was hooked on thrash metal after that. When you could pick a band by their album cover art! Nothing will ever be like the 80's!!! Grew up in Sacramento, CA. Saw most of the great metal bands. A lot of punk gigs as well! Still remember the first time I heard Metallica! This kid came up with a boombox as said "you half to listen to this" I had my boombox as well. He played Phantom Lord, then Seek and Destroy. I asked who the were he said "Metallica" They just put out their first album called Kill 'Em All! I was at the record store as soon as I could get there! Good memories and good times!
64underground69 ZROCK 1010 AM. That is how I heard the good stuff in the 80s. We could only get it in the daytime though. No commercials. Greatest station ever. The first time I heard Metal Church was Gods of Wrath. Then Beyond the Back and then finally Metal Church. ZROCK went off air in the early 90s but by then it was too late. I was hooked.
This brings back memories. I haven't heard this since the 80s when it came out and I bought the album. I should have kept those records! They were great.
Thank you for keeping the classics alive. Shit today does not even compare. in 1984 I was 19 and went to a show in a bar in Madison Wisconsin and got to see these guys as an opening act for Anthrax and they tore the roof off the place and Anthrax refused to come on stage for almost 2 hours because they got fucking owned by Metal Church...lol
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was early in the morning and my best friend was with me, now I was never an early bird, and my friend Tony new that,so he would always annoy the shit out of me to get me going, while stuck in traffic in L.A. he pops in this tape and started head banging, and the madder I got the more annoying he would get until finally I would start to wake up and next thing we were both head banging to this album, Love these guys, and miss my annoying best friend, Rock on forever Tony L. and Metal Church, to the end of the world!😎👍🤘
I replying to Scary Larry, now I don't remember him being in the car that day, see back in the 70'-80' you or your friend's would buy an Album and pop a cassette in to record what songs or albums you liked, so it was a lifesaver being stuck on average hour and a half to get to work in the morning, and 2 hours at night, so when Metal Church put the album out I know they were with some lousy label, later the got picked up by a bigger label, but Irregardless, it was a moment in my life that seems like yesterday though it's been almost 40 years ago, and hearing that song and watching the band brought my best friend Tony L. back just for a moment,,it almost felt like he was wright beside me,I miss those days of making homemade tapes of your favorite Band's, and popping it in your tape deck, and rolling down the road of life, See Ya,later on down the road Tony L. R.I.P.,✌🤘😎❤🙏
I got this album with a bunch of other metal bands I had never heard of in one of those get 15 albums for a penny deal back in the 80's. Talk about a diamond in the rough, I woulda gave a bill just for this one!!! LONG LIVE METAL!!!!
I remember one of my friends getting me into Metal Church, using this song. I also vaguely remember this song being played on one of my old friends' radio via a CD or Iphone/Ipod during a midnight drive, so I always put this song out when I leave for work (Graveyard shift). This album is a classic!
saw these guys open up for anthrax at L'Amour in Brooklyn ....the whole band hung out with us in my friends van , drinking and smoking and jamming to this album, me and my friends were fuckin singing with David Wayne , RIP. unbelievable time.
@cosmicsuperstrong THANKS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!! BEYOND THE BLACK IS(MY OPINION) PERHAPS THE BEST METAL SONG EVER!! AND THE WAR SCENES GO WITH THE SONG PERFECTLY,YOU ARE AWESOME!! GREAT WORK, LONG LIVE METAL!!
Man Metal Church was so heavy, this is 1984? Groundbreaking and ahead of their time, I'm sure a huge influence on the Thrash movement, I didn't really know them until Blessing in Disguise in 89 with Mike Howe, when Howe passed away I got re introduced to Metal Church , and went into deep dive, David Wayne was amazing 👏
I hope I commented so before but I just wanted to say that was kick ass. Thanks for creating and sharing. It's so much harder to create than destroy, much like it's so much easier to belittle someone than give praise it seems. luckily when you make something this badass, you should have to deal with the mental midgets who troll. \m/
You know Mike Howe is back right? I just stumbled onto that the other day and have watched their 2 videos and the behind the scenes segment like 50 times!
Have the album on CD and Vinyl and I love every minute of this song. And I also love jamming this song in my car. I been listening to the album Metal Church since I got my drivers license.

Great footage of P-40's with Allison engines and .50 caliber machine guns raking targets, impressive. The music amplifies the adrenaline rush.
