The band had originally said Big Pharma killed him and that he was a victim of the fake healer. They retracted that part of the statement. I always go with the first statement when it comes to things like this. Hopefully someone will say what caused him to do what he did, as it might stop someone from doing the same thing. RIP Mike. You were one of my favorite vocalists. Loved your energy and positivity. You will be missed.

Wow, so awesome to see people come here and pay their respects to one of the best metal singers that ever sang a tune to this day. I fell in love with this band while stationed in Germany back in early 90’s. I was watching a show with a faith healer in it and automatically thought if this song, one of the best songs ever, RIP Mike, you’ll never be forgotten

Great album. Although The Human Factor was my first exposure to Metal Church from Headbanger's Ball back in the day with A Date With Poverty. And then later on The Dark became one of my favorite albums as well.

One of my favorite songs from Metal Church. Remake´s are always a bit dangerous business. But, what a gem this turned out to be. Absolutely fantastic ! Little changes here and there, just to make sure we fans keep on our toes. Mike is in fine form and Todd La Torre is icing on the cake. God, how I love this band !

surprised - weirded out - humored - amazed - strangely satisfied - happy ------ my feelings upon finding this video - it made me drink beer at 6:30 in the morning and listen to the entire album
I've been listening to this remake since this video originally came out 5 years ago, and it never gets old. I'm typically not a big fan of bands remaking classic hits. But if there was ever an exception to the rule, this is it. Hearing one of my all time favourite Metal Church songs from my favourite Metal Church album redone with modern sound and production values takes what was an amazing song to a completely new level.

@Otto Pilot I just listened to both versions Back To Back, and there's no comparison. The Original is much, much better. Especially without Monkey-Boy in it. A totally unnecessary inclusion...
Been listening to this band since they came out. At first wasn't sure about this version. But not gonna lie, by the end it was pretty sick. Loves these guys and their music!!

One of THE best and most badass duets I've ever heard, and I've heard many. This song and the album it's on is already a brilliant classic. Mike still sounds as killer as he did back then, and Todd's powerful delivery added a whole lot more to it. Well done.

Well, I don't know if they know Geoff or not, but I do know that vocally, he's not as powerful as he used to be. Todd on the other hand obviously has very powerful range and versatility. As a vocalist myself, I can see why the blokes in Queensryche chose Todd as he can sound just like early era Tate, all the while retaining a voice all his own. I think this collaboration had to do with the fact that both bands know each other.
In any case, it was/is a perfect combination imho.

I will never forget just how intense and passionate his vocals were on that song In Mourning from The Human Factor. Blessing was good but he really came into his own The Human Factor and Hanging in the Balance. Little Boy from HITB is a classic..

The original is called "Legions" by the real singer of Metal Church. Rest in Valhalla David Wayne. Reverand recorded it.
