Nothing was seperate from God because He creats everything out of Himself. A potter creates pots out of sand. But that sand is the creation of God. So, many think that Sachin's cricketing skill is such that God Himself demonstrated His skill through Sachin, the mortal being. Sachin is surely not God, but saying him God of Cricket, we perceive the skill demonstrated by God through Sachin. This is our perception only. Be mindful that these are the different ways of worshiping God.

Kids don't switch off their TVs when Kohli gets out because others would follow after him to bat. But with Sachin at the crease, all electronics stores would broadcast the match on all the screens with people watching from the road, small shops would play the commentary on radio sets, TRPs of other shows would fall when he would bat. Forget cricket fans, people who didn't know the difference between a no-ball and a wide ball, would pray for him to score a century as if he was a part of their family. Still remember a match being played in Holland and people didn't know about cricket but could relate to it because of Sachin.
Sachin Tendulkar's greatest validation is the respect ftom his peers. And those of us who watched his generation play know the quality of that group.
