another great video! these are great value and you can always ask for the AIRCON or add your own and you can add your own furniture while you live there.

Can’t believe the coincidence- I rode past that cafe on the bike on the canal road less than a week ago and thought it looked abandoned but I definitely would have stopped off if I knew it was operating.
Nice place for a stop. Great coffee and something different from the normal coffee shops.

Houses looked well done and good quality at good price (dunno how thin the walls are on these builds tho) but bizarre no air con. Bit far out as well. They wanted a fair amount for deposit as well? Usually deposit protects owners items/furniture etc in the house but theres nothing in there 😂
Yeah it was a bit of a weird set up. Not sure why no Aircon . I’m sure they would need to put that in. It would be a good family home then , but not for me. Worth a look though . Cheers mate
If you live alone, houses are way too much hassle, esp, if you need to furnish it yourself. And, you not only need to keep the inside clean, you also have to deal with keeping the outside areas around the house clean as well. Yard work, pus house cleaning, in retirement? Nah.
But I'm sure that folks with families will find a house to be a more attractive option.

I'm well over concrete box condo's, I'll only live in places with some greenery and a garden I can bbq in now
@@Reno-vi2tj Ha, ha... I know where you are coming from! I also like greenery, gardens & bbq's - I just do not like taking care of them myself, and hate paying someone else to do the work.
Up to age 70 or so, it is not too bad to take care of that house & garden stuff on your own, but I've noticed that, as people get into their 70's and 80's, they tend to just let a lot of that stuff slide. It does not take very long to become a mess, which no one can enjoy.
These days, I'd prefer a nice low-rise apartment, with common area bbq's that I can use when I feel the urge to burn some meat, and nicely kept green spaces, that is all included in the rent. Walking or cycling distance to stores & restaurants would be ideal. :)
Yes, I would prefer a condo being alone, or a very small house. I agree about the cleaning. Cheers buddy.

Wayne, at 2mins 50secs the lady says in Thai "Hok Phan" which means 6000. Seems like that guy was trying to add a bit on for himself if you rented it. My wife is Thai and heard the lady say this.

If you'd kept riding another 500m or so along that road past the canyon you would have found Tintin Cafe, the other bar/cafe owned by the same lady as No. 1 Bar on Loi Kroh, great food, proper import beers, very nicely designed and comfortable spot to chill for a drink and a meal

I’m not sure with this place mate, it’s a bit of an odd set up. No Aircon and non will be fitted. I’ve never seen that in a new build for rent before .

The last set of stairs at the RAW coffee tower are a bit sketchy. 😳 You would think that they would remove those so that no one would attempt to climb to the top. But it is a very unique place with absolutely amazing views!
Yes, very dodgy steps at the top. It would never be allowed in the UK 🤣. I really like the tower though, it’s different from anything else.

I can't even remember it being free. That must be some years ago. I remember just being a basic canyon. It's changed loads since then.

Yeh, can be difficult looking at houses sometimes. Getting all the details, how many months deposit required etc, also would be good to get inside. Iv'e had the same happen a few times here on Phuket. I find keeping a cool head is the toughest bit 555.
I wasn’t to happy when I couldn’t go inside 🤣. I kept calm . The second one rescued the day. Not houses for me I. The end but worth a look. Yes, so much to think over with these houses .

Yes, I can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. It’s just pot luck and how much you trust the landlord. I’ve not moved for a longtime , so I’ll cross the bridge when I move out.
what would you expect to pay on a flight out & who do you use.
A flight from UK to Thailand? It’s been along time since I’ve done that and prices have probably changed a lot. I think I payed around £280 one way. Qatar, Thai Air and Eva are all airlines I like.
The Coffee Tower was so cool, how the hell did you get your coffee up there? She must have carried it all the way up those stairs, that would be a workout if the place was busy. I like the brutalist architecture, a bit Soviet looking. Needs a little paint in places to add color, I think.
I really liked the tower, great idea and so raw. You take the coffee up yourself mate. It was a challenge. I had a camera in one hand and coffee in the other 🤣. Cheers Dan

Waiting a few more weeks mate, probably September. Yes, waiting for it to dry up a little and I'm making some upgrades to Lucille, she needs new tires before I head off. The next road trip is all planned though mate and went to see about the tires a few days ago. It's a bit dodgy on the mountain roads at the minute.

Many Songtahew buses go from the Grand Canyon, you could probably get one back into the city for 50 Baht.

basic but not exactly basic prices 😅 I feel they could turn that tower into a real iconic attraction if they spend a bit of money doing it up...not a fan of the "raw" style.
I quite liked the RAW cafe theme, it's different, but it's not to everyones taste.

I would say yes, in a rental new house in Chiang Mai, it’s weird. If it was for purchase it would be understandable.

TBH I hate these housing projects. Too many small rooms, no air circulation so they're hot as hell, no privacy, no trees etc... That's all they build in CM anymore thanks to property developers.
Yes, these are popping up everywhere in Chiang Mai now, so many houses going up. They are bit close together. Very basic designs.
