ladies and gentlemen, i present to you the greatest singer who has ever set foot on the planet. Legendary.
By far, her worst performance of this song ever. She’s high as a kite at this show. You can really hear the toll cocaine has taken on her voice by this point. Watching this performance saddened me beyond comprehension. To watch that talent begin to slip away because of her addiction.

But if you watch most of her lives she really takes time to hit that last note because it’s really hard to keep such high strong vocal for so long. Gotta prepare herself, I feel this was the hardest song she sang. She was really good!! Wow
She admitted it was. In the initial recording, she asked David Foster to bring the key down cause she felt she couldn’t hit it. David said he wouldn’t be able to so she had to hit it…AND SHE DID!
The hardest song she sang...is pretty much EVERY hit she had from 1985 to 1993. They are ALL super challenging songs that will expose any cracks or flaws in a voice. Even when she was youthful and healthy and in peak voice, they were still one serious vocal work out. Each on of them. Put them all together in a concert and... 😳 She definitely had a gifted voice but I sure as hell don't envy her having to do THAT night after night for months on end.

I realized I was listening to it from that place, and not like a first time, seing what this is what was chosen among other performances! And I just wanna say that I finally fell in love with this performance! It´s out of her prime, but a good one and 100% live, without any arregement or dubbed vocals... SPOT ON ur comment is. Out of her prime, she pulls back a little in places but still an awesome performance. The problem is we ve seen her a little bit more perfect in the past.
This type of performance as well as her Saving all my love for you performance are “Mannered” performances where she sticks to the original script and doesn’t embellish. I love performances like that as well.

This is definitely among her worst performances and not out of her prime. She was 33 during this performance and high as a kite. You can hear the toll cocaine began taking on her range, power, and control. I love Whitney but this performance doesn’t inspire any awe or anything else except sadness and frustration.

She was so powerful. And her skill as a conductor was often overlooked. She, her stage band & orchestra were symbiotic and she led them masterfully.
The speed of her riff @1:11 and that beautiful head-to-chest run 5:09 gave me chills. I believe Whitney was a Spinto Coloratura Soprano at her peak, but darkened into a Mezzo Soprano as her health declined. Though her voice's range and clarity had suffered much damage at this point due to overuse, drinking, smoking, and drug use, the legendary dexterity of Whitney's voice remained. I love this performance!

I still remember the radio was pink, and even as a small child I knew this was something amazing. She was such a beautiful talented woman. So much love and Whitney is greatly missed.

As a huge Whitney fan I can really here the difference here in 1996 this is when i'd say she has some problems with reaching high chest notes and the pure power in that range like Whitney was always good at. However still a very powerful performance and as always her Head Voice and Vibrato are on point
