Hot take. I enjoyed this game back when I played it as a kid. Its absolutely horrible but some parts are hidden gems and some of the locations aren't badly designed. Colorwise and some of the architecture in the levels aren't that bad, I had some good times with DMC2. Still do actually and the music is great in some sections.
@@gr1ml1am73 honestly, in hindsight, DmC isn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I think the only reason people hated it so much was because, at the time, we thought it was the new direction for the franchise. But now we have DMC5, and DMC6 is in the works, so I think we can look back at DmC and judge it more on it's own merits. With that, I feel it's at worst a mediocre game, and it can be a lot of fun if you're in the right mood. DMC2 has none of that going for it, it is just straight up bad.

In my first playthrough of this game, I didn't even realize that the Quickheart was something you were supposed to pick up in Mission 4. I only assumed the game was poorly designed and that you needed DT and somehow managed to roll underneath the gate without getting it. I've never actually been motivated enough to finish this game (I don't think I even managed to get past mission 7 before succumbing to boredom), but I always remember how I somehow managed to do something I assume was unintended completely by accident.

I always felt Lucia was actually a good character design/asthetic wise she had a badass devil trigger mode and I liked her dual swords and throwing knives... also she honestly to this day had te best wall run animations she had like a 360 twirl but She was sideways on the wall and a smooth wall run up to a filp... I kinda hope one day her character gets a remake and a personality as well lol
Hi im new to your channel and I've been playing alot of dmc games recently (that being dmc 1, dmc 4 and dmc 5). I'm currently playing through dmc 2 for the first time and boy... people weren't kidding when they said the game was bad. Camera is weird, combat and target system felt sluggish, and the helicopter fight was an absolute pain for me. I'm only on mission 11 and I already wanna drop the game, but after seeing you complete this game under 1 hour motivates me to keep going. I also learn a few things from this too. Like the location of the rocket launcher (That I mistakenly missed on my one and only save file😅) and utilize my devil form more on bosses. I may have spoiled myself by watching this to the end, but honestly i don't care that much cause the video was just entertaining to watch. I just wanna say keep up the good work and I'll be be sure beat dmc 2 and dmc 3 before you drop your next banger.
Bit of a shame that you didn’t go with the Lucia campaign due to the shorter length since *everyone* and their grandparents go with the Dante campaign in vids of this game but nevertheless great video! Looking forwards to part 3!

The only highlight to this shithole of a game is the fact that my sister came over to hang out with me when I was suffering through it. I was playing it at my dad's house when I binged the entire series and was, surprisingly, not enjoying it. So when she came she started talking about star signs and shit like that, which was more entertaining than the actual game. It's literally only positive memory I have of this game, besides being done with it, and then I got to play the greatest turn-around of a series I've ever seen.

the lock-on is terrible, and the trismagia boss is a huge pain in the ass because of how much it breaks lock on and 1/3 of the heads can take damage. holding r2 to release the lock on is just stupid when a toggle would have been better at least.
So DMC6 ate we gonna get a Dante and Virgil coop buddy cop where Virgil is the stern and serious and Dante is comic relief, as we follow the wild and crazy shannaigans they get into while trying to escape the the underworld?
I think so, would be cool if it was based in a hidden castle in the underworld where Mundus has been hiding gaining power over the years which they both split up and you play half the story as Dante and the other half as Vergil

Watching this video, the game almost feels like a fever dream. I forced myself to beat it and I barely remember any of it lol. So seeing it all again is odd
A bit of both. The gameplay is egregiously boring. You can go through the entire game with just your guns. Your melee attacks are so slow and unwieldily. Areas are large and empty. Dante has been drained of all the charisma from the previous game. Even the cutscenes when he acquired weapons are so boring in comparison to the first game. The story is nonsensical and makes no sense. Even the first game’s story was serviceable. While I don’t think it’s offensively bad, it’s not something I want to return to any time soon.
This was my 1st DMC game. I had a lot of fun with it actually, since I didn't know the actual combat of DMC 3. I remember beating the game in Dante Must Die mode, those damn big goats with wings were serious pricks to kill. This game has the best version of Devil Trigger, and the Sin Devil Trigger at critical health is bad ass! I wish DMC 5 SDT had the SDT beam this game has.
I gotta admit I love all 6 games but what's truly worse the reboot or 2? 🤣 because yeah everyone wants to talk shit on the reboot but nooooobody wants to talk about dmc 2 🤣

Real DMC fans love 2 and all DMC games except the reboot. I actually like DMC 2 and imo it has excellent music, boss battles, and the only DMC with demon customization. It's not perfect but it's not a bad game either. I actually like it better than in some ways than DMC 1

I don't think I'll ever play it again but when I did play it, I did get into a sort of rhythm. Unlocking Trish also made it feel just slightly better
