However, there comes a time when you have to trust some information. There is simply not enough time in one lifetime to figure it all out for oneself.
That is the beauty of human existence: because we use language we can transmit knowledge from one generation to the next such that we don't have to start from scratch each new generation. We have to be careful who we trust because there are a lot of liars out there but that doesn't mean that everyone is lying. I once worked in the world of live TV and we had Penn and Teller on as guests. They were seated in the studio off camera and their segment was still a while away. I wore many hats at that job and my hat that day was as guest wrangler. Behind the scenes, Penn's actually quite quiet, soft-spoken, and answers questions in short, polite phrases. A question such as "Can I get you guys some water?" elicited a simple "Yes, please. Thank you," from Penn. But whereas Penn answers with a simple sentence, Teller, on the other hand, answers the same question with a paragraph. A simple "Yes, please" would've been fine but he just kept yammering on in response to my question.
Now, I thought this was pretty cool because here I was as a fan of theirs and witnessing Teller not just talking, but talking directly to me, though after a few sentences, he included Penn in the conversation. As we're about to come out of commercial, though, an audible countdown could be heard throughout the studio and Teller was still flapping his gums. After politely telling them to quiet down without Teller responding, I had to firmly shush him--I believe I said, "Teller! Shut up!"--in a loud stage whisper. He immediately obliged.
I tell this story because this video reminded me exactly of that. Teller's answer, while interesting, is a bit long-winded, and it tracks perfectly with our encounter. They both got their water, by the way, and I got some autographs.

I'll bet you never imagined you'd have to shush Teller! Thanks for sharing such a hilarious story. How many people within earshot had to stifle hysterical laughter the the "Go" cue hit? It kinda sounds like it could be a prank he likes to pull. I mean, ya gotta admit -- it's great theater, and Penn and Teller are all about great theater.

I LOVE teller's shtick, like, its genius... HOWEVER, over the years, having only heard him talk a few times, I'm always saddened, because he has such an amazing, soothing, clear, beautiful voice with such a nice tambre, such a matter-of-fact, yet, welcoming delivery, and an accent that is welcoming to any english speaker... While I'm thankful that his silent act helped him garner fame, it is bittersweet because I absolutely love his voice, when he talks its so clean and calming and equally engaging.... I'd love to see him do audio books or character voice overs or something (if he hasn't already under a different name).... I just love his voice. He could have a talk show or podcast and people would tune in by the billions. Now, contrast his voice with penn's loud, raspy, excitable, also matter-of-fact, to the point voice, and they sound great together... So I love how they did what they did, but it is bitter sweet. The most interesting part about these two is how well they compliment each other, not just with speaking voices, but with their general personality, demeanor, and stage presence. And I LOVE how teller is loud and raspy, commands attention and respect, is to the point, and matter of fact, and how teller's voice is calming, soothing, yet equally powerful, commands the same respect, is equally matter-of-fact, and commands the same level of attention. Its amazing how complimentary these opposites are.

      The entire point of life:
Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. Mathew 20: 28. We are no different. This entire life is a representation of the spiritual warfare going on. Good vs evil. God isn't a flying man in the sky, but the actual representation of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc. Not metaphor, but literally, like an extra demintional wavelength of thought, emotions, and intent. The devil is the opposite wavelength, pain, fear, hate, anger, darkness, etc. Human life is serving one of these two. Not a man in the sky, actual sentient collective universal Love. However, humans are primatives, we make mistakes. It's in our nature, since the fall, to go down the wrong path. This means at some time each one of us has served darkness to some degree. God understands our limited understanding of our own actions, so he gave us forgiveness, though sacrificing himself in human form as Jesus Christ. It is our duty to accept that sacrifice, get the forgiveness, and be better, helping others be better, and spreading this wavelength of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc, thoughout the universe. But God had to make a way for us to get to this place spiritually, this is why evidence is not allowed. Evidence will make you believe, using the fear of absolute punishment to change your behavior, but that won't make you better, just scared. Faith makes you better. It is what redeemes us, not our works. Faith is the hope that things get better, that justice always prevails, that we're at least loved by our creator. But it has to be Faith in Jesus, because of his sacrifice. And there can't be evidence to point us to him, because Love had to be fair. If there were a code in our DNA, what about everyone born before genetic sequencing? If there were a book with the solar system thosands of years ago, what would stop an evil person from hiding/destroying it? If it were something you had to go to, what about the geographically isolated, imprisoned, or enslaved. If it were a train of logic, what about the uneducated, or mentally slow? Not to mention all the people born before schools. Love cannot give to one without giving to the other. So the key to salvation had to be something everyone has access to. The only thing is Faith. This is why God puts it upon your heart to learn about these things, even if it's only to criticize, or hate. God is everywhere, because Love is everywhere, and so is the devil, because hate is everywhere. They're in your head all the time, regardless of weather or not you accept that. They whisper inside your heart, giving you ideas. But more than that, they're inside everyone's heart. This is how they get things done. They corrordanate us like pieces on a chess board. The only difference is, we get to chose who's side we're playing for. At the end of our life, we go to that team's home base, Heaven, or Hell. A place where all that exists is those wavelengths. Hate, pain, anger, fear, darkness; or Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Pleasure, Light. The choice is yours to make. But you cannot go to Heaven with hate in your heart. You must forgive, repent, and spread joy for those around you. These are sentient eternal controlling forces in our universe. Heaven and Hell are very real places, I've seen them. Those steps prime your soul for a meeting with God. Very literally. Once you've done all four, in that order, you get divine revelation, with all the evidence you'll ever need. They are, forgive your parents, brake down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read the Bible. Step four takes three books to get the revelation. I recommend Genesis, Mathew, and then either Luke, Psalms, or proverbs. The order of the steps is important, step 1 has to come before step 3. I can state that for an absolute certainty that these steps always work. Please, take your salvation seriously. See for yourself. Do those steps. Jesus Christ is Lord. It's all True,

A teacher would be present supervising the room and available to help you on your different assignments if you had questions. If you didn't have any homework then you could draw or read a book. It was probably more common in Jr high. 6 7 and 8th grade. Some places call it free period. I didn't go to high school so I don't know how common it is in high school. In college though you set your class schedule and if you have an hour or 2 off between classes you can go to library or a computer room or student lounge, car, dorm room, empty class room, grass or bench or picnic table outside and use time to study or work on class assignments. Or you can shoot hoops or hang out with friends. It's up to you if you want to use your free time between classes as your personal study hall time or goof off time

As a blind person my wife was thrilled and we went up on the stage with her guide dog and inspected everything. She really enjoyed the show with her additional understanding of what they were using on stage. After the show they were greeting fans outside and we went through the line to shake hands and got them to sign my program. Teller said "That was really cool, we have never had a service dog inspect the props before. Thank you for coming, I hope you enjoyed the show." As we were walking away my wife asked, of course, "Who was that?"
