@@kathrynshea6486 The reason why they weren't recognized because there were no female Apostles. Jesus called each of the twelve personally by name. He himself knew who he was calling. Don't you think this would be noteworthy enough to point it out in the Canonical Gospels where a female was called?
The teachings of God are NOT against women. In fact, God is woman because the creation comes from the creator which is the body of what creates.
The only created body that has ever been used for the creation of anything, is the feminine.
Check yourself.
If you can't create a human being inside your body, you do not know God and you do not know woman. And so you suffering is because you are separated from God in such a way that your 1 life as a man is to realize God in the feminine because she is not yourself, and is the source if the purest love (man suffers from his lust as an animal body, women naturally love as a mother. ) If you can't then you can't reach God. In the same way for 1 purpose in life is to be a loving father to wife, daughter and son. If you have not even accomplished this much in life, you are NOTHING.
They can call themselves ordained women priests, but they are neither ordained nor priests. They excommunicated themselves.

When will you interview the females who do not agree with women being priests?
EXACTLY.
But DON'T hold your breath for CBS!!!
They make it clear the RC leadership is male-only. The people they need to interview are males since males are the authorities in the Church.
We don't do that here
I've seen many interviews like that. Supporting or opposing female priests doesn't break down along gender lines.
I recall from the Phil Donahue Show a woman asked by an audience member what she thought of women ministers. "I don't find it very appealing," she replied. "I want Daddy, not Mommy, behind the pulpit."
They were limited in what they could cover as it was just part of a TV program. It wasn't possible to go through the entire history of why the Roman Catholic Church has a gender exclusive priesthood.

I smell heresy in the male only this, male only that. You're reading scripture through the sin-filled, worldly lenses of male-entitlement. Follow Christ, and he will show you true teachings.

Agree, or (most) Lutheran churches. I don’t understand if their faith is in God, or a church body/denomination (which doesn’t want them to be ordained). As for married priests, that is not a 2,000 year old tradition, there have been married popes and to this day are married priests in parts of the world in churches which are part of the Roman Catholic faith and those who convert from other liturgical churches.

I am convert to Catholicism. I have been to woman run churches. They are horrible, there is a reason God said no.
In the Catholic everyone has a special role that matches their role. As a woman there are so many Ministries of serving that is just as important as a priests role.

Who the hell ordained her priest??? They are not in alignment of the Roman Catholic Church. If Jesus wanted female priests he would have invited Mary Magdalene to the last supper!
We don't know who else was at the last supper. Christ did ordain Mary Magdalene to teach the men of his resurrection. Mary, not Peter or anyone else with a penis. He also ordained the woman at the well to tell the men about him. Many men will not be able to accept this since conservative religion is based on male-entitlement.
Christ revealed his resurrection to Mary Magdalene, who was the apostle to the apostles.
What makes you think she wasn't there? Of course she was
His own mother, Mama Mary, would have been ordained as well.
Huh? As a female Catholic.. this goes against the faith and teachings. It does not work that way. Christ was a male, he broke bread at the last supper with his apostles and poured wine. It was his body and blood which HE KNEW would be shed for all. HE KNEW. At the alter, during the liturgy of the Eucharist, the male Priest takes on this role - recites the words Jesus said during the last supper and breaks bread and drinks the wine. This sacrifice at the alter has been going on for centuries… as it was initiated by Jesus. There is so much more to substantiate the role of male Priests.. too much to type. Look into it.

And this is not for a debate or any offense to anyone.
I was raised by a Meteorite, check box, Catholic. The type who only goes when its an important day.
For a timing I walked away from the catholic faith and started going to other churchs and services looking for answers searching for Jesus, for God.
I went to so many different churches from non domination, to pentecostal so many you name it.
But that was not Gods plan for me. He guided me back with the Holy Spirit, to the Catholic Church.
And by Gods grace I got the chance to actually learn the true meaning of our religion.
And yes the history of the church Yes there is a dark past.
But that past is the doing of humans defying God.

NOW when will people learn that Gods way is Gods way. Not a Man or Woman can or have the rights to change what God had tended and what has been written in the Holy Bible, La Lecta Divina. And what has been placed through the Holy Spirit for over 2000 years. As a Catholic, the most important and sacred part of our religion is being in communion with Christ. It is sad when you are a Catholic and don't care that you have been excommunicated 😢
Jesus is the Bridegroom, the Catholic Church his bride. This is why we can not have women as priests.
Yep!
I read hrough a lot of comments looking to see if anyone remembered this basic fact which settles the question
The priest often stands in place of Jesus (in Persona Christi). Jesus was, is and ever shall be a Man. Jesus chose 12 men to be is apostles. If Jesus want a woman to be a priest don't you think he would have chosen his on mother?? The only woman to have ever been born free of sin, and who never ever sinned. The womb in which Jesus lived for 9 months. She has more right than anyone to be a priest and yet it did not come to be.
That's pretty gay.
Not Biblical, but whatever. More and more will keep leaving the church and its gay men's club.
The Catholic Church has its' beliefs written down in black and white. If you don't believe Church teaching, you are not a Catholic.
Sounds like excommunication to me.
That because it is self excommunication
Im not a Roman Catholic but one thing I know about Roman Catholicism is the Church is the highest authority so this does not make sense. Now Im a Lutheran, ELCA, we ordain women because its in the Bible with the apostle Junea and ordained deaconesses and with some Old Testament prophets like with Deborah but Roman Catholicism unlike Lutheranism views the church as ultimate authority, not Gods word, the Holy Bible. These women are not Roman Catholic though because that's not how it works. I don't care if women become priests or not in that church because Im a Lutheran and I am already in the church Catholic along with our ecumenical partners. the Bible should be in authority, not a fallible man.
If you love the Church so much, how can you stand to be excommunicated from it? Why purposely separate yourself from it?
The church is not the building or the institution but the people. The faith of the people is what the hierarchy are to teach. But if they are not listening how can they? Time to evolve.

Please understand that the Roman Catholic Church does not have the authority to ordain women. The reporter should have done her research into Catholic doctrine and why the Church cannot ordain women. It is not an issue of desire. The Church simply is unable to. Any woman ordination are empty words with no substance or meaning because whoever does the ordination does not have the authority. No one does. Jesus did not give that authority to the apostles. The panelists at the end get it right but then get it wrong. One said something like, “yeah it was not God just some men who made this rule. “ So if God made the rule, no one would be complaining. Well, Jesus is God and God made the rule.
The reporter should have done her research lol. As if they still do that today.
Maybe you are not aware of the fact that there were women deacons, women priests and women bishops in the early church. There is archaeological evidence that proves it. St. Paul wrote a letter to the Roman Church (Chapter 16) introducing Phoebe as a deacon in the church. He states, “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.
- Paul”
In the 7th century there is evidence of a woman bishop. So, it was later that men decided to forbid, not God, that should not be ordained.
Also, Jesus broke the social norms when it came to women. He spoke to them, ate with them, included them as disciples, and even appeared to a woman first after his resurrection instructing her to go tell the apostles of his resurrection. Jesus clearly was all inclusive. So, why can’t women be deacons and priests because God clearly calls them. Because men made the decision sometime after the 8th century.
Women deacons (not ordained) were responsible for guiding women at worship, delivering communion to the sick, and ministering at funerals. They were also involved in charitable works. They were later called nuns.
This is what happens when people speak as if the have Authority to do so. There are over 25,000 Protestant Denominations now and they continue to splinter and fracture simply because they are not guided by the Spirit of Truth.

The negative comments I have seen reflect a genuine lack of knowledge
about the teachings in both the old and new testament. The Church has already acknowledged that there is no Scriptural teaching that prohibits the ordination of women to the priesthood. The only barrier is a man made law, 2 canon, that says that only men will be allowed to receive Holy Orders. That leaves the Holy Spirit, who has called women to priesthood, to lead them to unrecognized ordination. Who are men to tell God what to do? A Church that follows Jesus' mandates would welcome and celebrate all its members, not just the males.

This is a result of how mankind was created and how sin entered the world (1 Timothy 2:13-14). This precludes women from serving as pastors over men, since pastoring definitely includes preaching, teaching publicly, and exercising spiritual authority.

I personally think they should allow priests to marry and allow women into the priesthood, but allowing Roman Catholic priests to be married would be a good start. They would have to remember though, only their personal property could be left to their surviving family members, all Church property would have to devolve back to the diocesan Bishop.
They are not catholic
We are not asking for permission of the male hierarchy to follow the call we have been given.
We are not waiting until they decide to allow women and define what paths we are to follow under their influence.
We remain Roman Catholics by baptism and choice to forge a new way for women in the church.
We stand in our call pointing away from their efforts to place a yoke on our vocation that is not a yoke of good news.
We are responding to the spirit in joy and freedom-promoting women's call to ministry and service as full equals among the men and women of the church.
As we have been chosen, we continue to serve within the church calling it out of the chains of the past toward freedom and hope the gospel offers its people. We will not go back.
Saints who brought about reform in the Church did not sound as disobedient and haughty as your rant and they worked within the framework of the Church.
"We are being excommunicated"
It’s about time the Catholic Church wakes up and realizes the gifts women have to offer and how the very survival of the church will depend on them finally recognizing half of society and what they have to offer to the church and it's families.
It is not about not about waking up, it is about authority and the Church does not have it. The Church has been through much worse and the Holy Spirit guided it through.
