THANK YOU for posting.My king quad has been hard to start for years when cold and i was able to adjust the intake valve which was so tight it was holding the valve open. it runs and starts like a new machine now. took me 20 min
Not sure if the newer KQ 300's had the same issue but I have an older KQ 280 or LTF4WDX and those have an issue with the exhaust seats and exhaust valves. A local shop installed a hardened exhaust valve and seat and replaced the intake valve as well. Everything runs well now.
I love you man for making this video. I only wish I could see exactly where you are sticking that gauge. I'm trying to do this with the engine on the bike. I have a 250 QuadRunner. 2001.
What are the symptoms of the valves needing adjustment? Mine starts and runs fine but after warming up( 10-15 min) bogs out and dies. After letting it cool that process repeats. Thanks for your video and help.

I know this is an old video but I was wondering can a tight intake valve cause hard starting and cause some air/fuel mixture to come out of the crab when cranking?
just wondering kind of a dumb question but if my 4 wheeler has 90 compression and wont start it sometimes starts but barely goes ahead could it be the valves also?
It absolutely could be valves. I would start there since it is an easier job on this machine. Let me know what you find. Intake is correct but you will find that a 95' King Quad Exhaust valve clearance is actually meant to be .007 - .009 according to the manual. The specs you have given are for the 250cc
Is this the same for a 1998 arctic cat 300 4x2 ? Ive only found 2000 specs with arctic cats I recall someone or something saying that year had a Suzuki engine on it

If compression valve is gone does it make a clicking sound every stroke
Tighten your timing chain, that's what's making the noise. I had the same issue.

Dang, why would not clean the engine first? Also explain why taking out the spark plug out makes things a lot easier ,
