Nightwish are all about emotions - and Floor is the ultimate storyteller, able to reach out into the mind and soul of people. I am 64 and I tear up because Nightwish gives me the right to do it - this is what life is all about - happy feelings also makes people cry - and this is a genuine, honest and deep and happy song. And it hits hard - because Floor is using her powers.

Fantastic (couple of) human beings !! I cry all the time by listening music. Lyrics or music can trigger it or a good combination will trigger it fastest. My Asian wife at first didn’t know what to think of it. Over there emotion and showing it is a completely different ballgame. She didn’t understand that in a ring fighting another man I could turn in what she considers a monster and on the other hand at a cremation I sometimes was smiling. So easy for me when I’ve good memories of that person and especially when their suffering stops. Nowadays after many years she understands and even know to which band or music I’m listening….. I as a child had it beaten into me men don't cry with all the pain i suffered as a child i became a very hardened young man until i watched this sad movie that had a scene where this kids dog died and i couldn't stop the tears they just flooded out. As embarrising as it was for me it also brought me great releif and i finally felt human again. That day taught me that it's natural to cry and share emotions and it is weakness why people hide their emotions fear of being vunerable and looking weak but it takes great strength to be honest with yourself. Be proud to be expressive with yourself. You help the world mend knowing there's another great soul on earth. Hardened people become bitter emotional people express caring and the world needs healing more now then ever.

Nothing wrong with a man who is TOUGH enough to shed a few tears!!!!! I would suggest you check out the acoustic version at Planet Rock. That is like cutting a million onions. When I saw them I waned them to play the acoustic version and I was so lucky that they did at my show. Also a word of warning....When you get to Procession please have the tissue ready. Not only the lyrics that Tuomas wrote but the flawless way Floor delivers them.

I consider myself a rational human being, some may call me a nerd, yet music like this, as well as movies and good books make my eyes water. My mother, 92 years old, explained that this is a sign of empathy and humanity, and people that can feel that emotion should be proud of it.

Fantastic (couple of) human beings !! I cry all the time by listening music. Lyrics or music can trigger it or a good combination will trigger it fastest. My Asian wife at first didn’t know what to think of it. Over there emotion and showing it is a completely different ballgame. She didn’t understand that in a ring fighting another man I could turn in what she considers a monster and on the other hand at a cremation I sometimes was smiling. So easy for me when I’ve good memories of that person and especially when their suffering stops. Nowadays after many years she understands and even know to which band or music I’m listening….. How’s the ❤️

I as a child had it beaten into me men don't cry with all the pain i suffered as a child i became a very hardened young man until i watched this sad movie that had a scene where this kids dog died and i couldn't stop the tears they just flooded out. As embarrising as it was for me it also brought me great releif and i finally felt human again. That day taught me that it's natural to cry and share emotions and it is weakness why people hide their emotions fear of being vunerable and looking weak but it takes great strength to be honest with yourself. Be proud to be expressive with yourself. You help the world mend knowing there's another great soul on earth. Hardened people become bitter emotional people express caring and the world needs healing more now then ever.
André, as said before, there's never a need to apologize. Indeed I think you have done the one of the bravest things: being yourself with few filters and full emotion. That is what to me is a strength and confidence in a reactor. Sometimes I too get misty-eyed or shed a tear with NW, so please come join the emotional brigade of the army😃.

Don't worry Andrei, your tears only show how good human you are. And this definitely becomes one of my favourite reactions of yours. I cried and laughed at the same time watching you both.
This song is really special to me, but when I think of this song I think of the acoustic version which, I'm sure others already told you, you MUST react to as well.
I think that this song is really important, because people are so used to ask "How are you?" without truly asking it. We should all care about each others and honestly ask people how they are. Even strangers. If we did that, I think this world would be much better place. And when I first heard this song I felt so grateful to Tuomas for it, for those words, and I just wished every single person listened to it.

BTW, this song is much about Floor, checkout the silhouette and verses about no child, then she was blessed with her daughter, met her husband Hannes by the cliffs., and then their silhouette walking together. Nothing wrong with a man who is TOUGH enough to shed a few tears!!!!! I would suggest you check out the acoustic version at Planet Rock. That is like cutting a million onions. When I saw them I waned them to play the acoustic version and I was so lucky that they did at my show. Also a word of warning....When you get to Procession please have the tissue ready. Not only the lyrics that Tuomas wrote but the flawless way Floor delivers them.

Meaning
I thought it was so nice of Tuomas to write a few texts of How's the Heart dedicated to Floor. According to her podcast on Spotify, he wrote the part "We met where the cliff greets the sea" about her relationship with Hannes van Dahl (although it is also a clear reference to Élan), and "Now there's one who come from me / A kind of light, another story", which is about her birth of their daughter Freja. How cool is that?
I mean, he really did what the song is about: human empathy. And what better way to show it by dedicating a small part of the song to his friend and bandmate? She said she was in tears when he told her. And I can see why, it's a beautiful song.
He did the same with Tarja in She Is My Sin and Ever Dream, although some also say that Two for Tragedy is about his "unrequited love" for her. And Bye Bye Beautiful of course, for the already known subjects.
Many also mention that Yours Is an Empty Hope is somehow focused on Anette and how she spoke about them to the media after their split. The song was also co-written with Marko, and I know he felt the issues surrounding the relationship between Anette and the band deeply before she left, according to his book.
On the positive side, I know Tuomas wrote the bonus track Nightquest, by Oceanborn, as a tribute to all the band members at the time. It's a very funny song, by the way.
