I feel for you totally, because I myself shed some tears every time I hear it (and I'm a big bulky guy). The message is so beautiful , kindness, caring and love. The "rope" here means hanging rope (depression, suicide?) and the "blade" means hate. Burn and dull them and join the dance of Life with us. Tuomas wrote the second verse (we meet where the cliff greets sea and so on...) about Floor. Don't shy your tears, because that's the genuine reaction is all about. The acoustic version is highly recommended, but bring enough tissues because it's even more emotional and intimate.

"We met where the cliff greets the sea/Shared a story took the leap" was written by Tuomas for Floor and refers to her meeting her husband, Hannes (who is the drummer of the band Sabaton) . "Now there's one who came from me/ A child of light another tale" is also writter for Floor and refers to the birth of their daughter, Freja. Floor admitted that this bit is emotional for her.

A lot of Nightwish songs leave room for interpretation and for you to inhabit the song yourself, so the things you feel when you listen are definitely valid. I also think it is one of the best anti-suicide songs ever. I prefer the album version but the accoustic one shows off Floor's power and her art, while you feel like you are in the same room, so it is a must see for that. ♥♥♥

I am right in guessing that you liked this song? The second verse is about where Floor met Hannes, her husband and then about her daughter. You can see the outline in red with Floor holding up her daughter. Beautiful song. Great reaction Cynthia! You look beautiful and it was fun to see you wanting to dance to it. This song will replace "I Want My Tears Back" in the set for this upcoming tour. Be well. Peace.
Somebody asked Floor in one of those Instagram Lives that she has been doing about this matter, and she answered that those in the outlines weren't them... who knows.
So far this one is my favourite from this album.
