Even through this process, I tried adding water back into the dough to wet it a bit for a better consistency as suggested by another viewer; however, when I put the pearls into the boiling pan they flattened out completely. I tasted one right after and the tapioca “pearl” more like flattened ball was still full of starch. i’ve tried to make this about 4 times and for some reason when i added the 1 tbsp of tapioca starch the brown sugar thing never thickens. what am i doing wrong?
it maybe helpful to dissolve the 1tbsp of tapioca starch with some of the brown sugar water in another bowl; use a laddle take some of the brown sugar water out of the pot into another clean small bowl, add your 1tbsp tapioca and stir it till its not clumpy, add the mixture from ur little bowl into the hot bubbling brown sugar water and cook until it thickens

Every time I try to make them, I get like small clumps of tapioca (from the first tbs to make it get thick) That doesn't want to get into the dough.. How do I fix this?
It's ok if there's clumps because we will add the rest of the starch and knead . why does my tapioca dough melts?
@ Imsu Ikr , I think your pearls are too big and still very soft. Thank you.
This tutorial didn’t work for me
Me either
cornstarch ok?
With this method I do not recommend to use cornstarch. I have a video using cornstarch in different method , please watch and I hope it helps . Thank you..
What does it tastes like
@Bihter Ergi, taste brown sugar.
Go try it after COVID is over ( go Taiwan) the pearls have a chewy texture kinda like gummies and it has a sweet brown sugar taste to it . If u dun like milk, there are some non milk options just say black tea with pearls and no milk hope this helped
omygosh. I tried this a couple of times but it didn't work 😭. The dough just doesn't hold it's shape
add more tapioca starch. Maybe the humidity of your climate is affecting it.
Can constarch make it?
we belong together nope cornstarch won’t work
we belong together you can google some substitutes if you don’t have tapioca
I have to do a second attempt again one of these days coz I failed the first try 😅
Good luck . Thank you.
Is it ok to use normal sugar instead of brown suger ?
yes it's ok to use normal sugar, the color will be different but it should be the same thing.
yeah, make sure to not cook it too much to the boil whereas it’ll become rock solid when dried
Thank youu
Is it ok if I use tapioca flour instead of tapioca starch?🤔😊
Pegah Ka yeah I’m pretty sure that they are the same thing so I think that you should be fine :)
@@kaya843 thank you so much 🙏👌😊
Same thing
It is ok cassava flour?
Cassava starch is tapioca starch
@Lj ssantos, I have never tried using cassava flour but I think it will work but maybe the result will not be exactly the same. Why not try? Thanks for watching.
Hmm, I live in Europe and wanted some tapioca pudding, but I couldn't find tapioca starch or pudding in my local grocery store so watched a few tutorials for boba. .. I wonder if I could make these with corn starch? Btw, I don't even know what this is. Is it candy? How do I make tapioca PUDDING? It's with very tiny pieces of tapioca I think.
ok i tried it and it was a fail.. 🥴
