2020 GT500 Goes 9.5@150!! - Race vs Turbo 911 Porsche

- With our race season in South Florida just getting started, we were excited to get our 2020 GT500 CX1100 to the track TWICE this weekend! Friday night we headed to the Octane Nights event put on by Palm Beach Cars & Coffee and got the chance to line up against a Turbo 911 for a great race. Then on Sunday we headed back to PBIR for a rental. We ended the weekend with a handful of 9.5 passes in fairly warm conditions. We will consider this a great baseline and chip away at it all winter. Nice runs Ken. Not really a surprise though. Ken had the first 2v na in the 10's back in the day. He tuned my 02 auto 2v bolt on and it ran high 12's which was pretty quick back then. ...not anymore.

Ford makes tuners and modds now so dope. Leading American brand in my eyes. Yes Chryslers hellcat is dope but Ford offers so many engine options ite crazy.
Pretty sure the challenger has more engine options though

I stsy seeing Chargers trying to keep up to more refined transmissions and engines. .....stop. Chrysler makes horrible engines. Its not a Charger...its a damn Chryslers fiat lol

Use the r888 tires and drive in the Street! Work on traction at launch will be more awsome good Job!
Try a shorter tire to see if it comes out the hole faster but might take some mph on top end
Great idea but at 150+ he can afford to give up a couple mph
The car is very quick and I had a front row seat..lol I was the car next to him. I ran a 10.6 to his 9.7...lol..

That blower whine is insane !!! why do they seem to stumble off the line ?? No disrespect but in first 2 seconds all of the gt 500s seem like they labor then come out of it...
It's not disrespect. You are just saying what you are seeing. Power is limited in 1st and we can not get around that with tuning yet

Not the tune most likely. We tune it. There are a lot of possibilities. In the end, anytime you are making that power you can have issues.
@@PalmBeachDyno I thought so! Just wasn't sure if it went somewhere else after you got your hands on it. There are so many factors at that power with OEM stuff, everyone is always so quick to jump down the tuners throat. If you don't wanna pay don't play right! Love watching the vids on your car keep up the great work!

I my self have a $100k Shelby PBD tuned and have less mods then most others at the track last week my car ran 9.6 at 150mph full weight no headers and 2.45 pulley. That’s better then perfect. No stangmode goes and more likely pumps gas anywhere he can and constantly beats that car I’ve never seen a video of his that he looks at the gauges does he even know what air/fuel ratio means or the lambda??? After a year and 100 maybe 200 pulls go ask the tuner hummm. I’m sorry but that’s DUMB
The only way a Shelby 500 beats the 911 is if it’s modded , stock it has no chance! 911 turbos are the fastest cars in the world stock vs stock.

They have carbon fiber half shafts. Bro

The driveshaft is. This car has stock half shafts but they are larger than any other S550. You can not swap them into a GT without changing other parts.

@@Icipher4 Everyone who has been in one nows the new turbo is the king of drag races. It even leaves the demon. The older one is only 0.3 seconds slower so there is no chance the gt500 is faster.
@@DexxonGamer77 I believe the demon actually has a faster recorded quarter mile time. what it most likely comes down to is traction. The mustang and the hellcat variants have rear wheel drive which obviously is a lot trickier to launch. when traction is dealt with and there's a good driver in the American vehicle, suddenly they become much more competitive. I would expect a stock GT500 to hang with the turbo s from a roll, if not beat it.
@@Icipher4 I think most of the times a turbo s will take it. In a rolling with the gt500 yes it would stay with the turbo but not from a stand still.

So i been bashed because i love Ford and definitely the Mustang. All these hating CHRYSLERS FIAT CHARGER OWNERS ARE MAD Lol How the fuck do you actually believe Dodge is over Ford. CHRYSLER FIAT OVER FORD???? HAHAHAHAH....Bro Ford is helping other american brands make engines. They are literally battling over sea brands across the board. And if you ever driven Ford, Lincoln or Mercury. (OR Jag,Volvo, Ranger Rover, Mazda...to throw in more shade) You will know the engine options and different power and torque outputs across allllll their vehicles really out does so many brands limited options. CHARGERS HAVE HARD TIME KEEPING UP WITH NORMAL CARS ALL THE TIME CAUSE THEIR TRANSMISSION IS SLOW. SO IT MAKES THE DRIVER SEEM SOOOOO EXCITED TO CATCH UP AND REV FULLY UP WHILE A BASIC CAR IS BARLEY ON HALF THE POWER. .....Ford all day. And ill keep saying it.
